Description

Always looking to take slow pitch softball bats to the next level, Miken proudly introduces the new Triad Xtreme Maxload! The two-piece Triad defies Miken's conventional one-piece composite design, but is still made with the same high grade carbon fiber Miken's fans are used to. Triad Xtreme is not only the name of the bat, but also the name of Miken's newest technology. Triad Xtreme technology uses proprietary layering of high strength fibers at Xtreme temperatures, unleashing the ultimate sweetspot and improving hot out of the wrapper durability. The result is unparalleled durability and jaw-dropping performance! The handle of the Triad is made with Vortex Technology that uses the power of a braided reinforcement to increase the strength of the handle and optimize performance. Each braided layer distributes the load evenly, while all layers move seamlessly together for optimal flex and performance. On the other end, the Triad features Maxload, or end-loaded, weighting to give players extra momentum behind each swing for maximum power! Miken: We Don't Play the Game, We Dominate It! The Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA only. Free Shipping!

Pros: Great feel, comfortable to swing, has pop after only 5 balls.

Cons: After only 7 hits something broke inside and started rattling around in it. Miken sent me a free shipping label and is taking the bat back to examine for warranty but it stinks to have a bat for 1 day and hit 7 balls with it and have to send it back, regardless of how good the warranty is.

TRIAD Continues to Amaze Jared player

Pros: I am a one piece fan, but this bat feels amazing and the ball flies off of it. I was skeptical with the one piece bats coming out, but that fire was quickly put away when I swung this.

Cons: n/a

2014 Mikken Triad Maxload Endloaded Domenic player

Pros: The bat looked great and hit great but..............

Cons: This review is for the 2014 model - The first bat felt good out of the wrapper and went to break it in with two friends and it started a spiral cross hatched cracked after 50 hits. Got a replacement and it lasted one season, 16 games and did the same thing. Third bat lasted two seasons and did it again. I will say that the bat hit great, just like I'd hoped, until the bat started cracking! BUT the durability sucks! Now I'm stuck trying to get another replacement!

Pros: None

Cons: The worse bat u can ever buy, the feels and pop on the bat is great but it breaks right away. I took this bat brand new to a tournament this weekend and after three at bats it broke. This is the second time that this happens to me with this bat.

WATCH OUT!!!!! Slow Pitch Sam player

Pros: Great pop, great feel. Minimal break in

Cons: End cap came off after about 10 swings. That's right, it came right off the handle. This must be an issue with these because my teammate had the exact same thing happen to his 1 week after mine. Great bat otherwise but I am sure this has become a major problem for this bat. Last years Triad had cracking problems and this year has knob issues. GET IT TOGETHER MIKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing, nothing better! Hags 22 player

Pros: Insane pop. best ASA only bat i have swung, had the 2014 and it started cracking on me. The fixed that issue with this bat. Everyone who is claiming this bat breaks in 10 swings clearly does not know how to hit a softball correctly. I bought a 30 oz end loaded and have launched multiple balls over 400, i have about 4 guys on my team that swing this bat full time now and one just bought his own 28 oz. No other bat compares. Seriously, this bat has over 600 hits already and not a problem durability wise. remember it is made for a 52 core 300 lb ball, not a 52 core 400 or 475 like some of those nsa balls!

Cons: People complain to check the bat its so hot. Learn to hit kids.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: STR3MA? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I play in leagues using .44 and .40 cor balls. How well will this bat hold up? wooptie
The 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA (STR3MA) bat features the new ASA stamp and is designed to hit the new ASA .52 COR softballs. If the bat is used with the .44 CORE softballs, it becomes more susceptible to cracking. Any bat that features the 2004 ASA stamp would be designed to hit the .44 COR softballs.
Tessa L.
I know that the last Triad had some durability problems, so my question is, are they fixed? Levi
Yes, the 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA: STR3MA Slow Pitch will have extreme performance with unmatched durability. Any issues from previous years should be fixed.
Brandon
What would be the best bat for a guy 140 lbs 5'8'' with solid fluidity swinging of the bat? Adrian
The 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA (STR3MA) would be a great option for you. It has a 1/2 oz. end load, perfect for a player with a solid swing.
Kara
I bought the 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme ASA and after a few hits my bat also had a little rattle on the inside of it but as I kept using it so far that rattle has went away? Once this is figured out what it was I would like to be contacted to see if I need to return my bat, although it still hits bombers still. I love this bat so far . chad
Almost all the time, the rattling sound that can sometimes be heard with bats is a small piece of glue used in the manufacturing process that just chipped off on the inside, and has no detrimental effect on the performance of that bat. Since you are reporting no performance issues, this is more than likely the case, so you won't need to return the bat.

I saw this bat was designed for a .52 COR ball. Will it perform as well with a .44 COR ball? Jerry
The 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA (STR3MA) Slow Pitch bat features the new ASA performance certification mark, so it is designed for the .52 COR softballs, as you stated. You will also hit the .44 COR softballs well with the new bats, but the new bats are more susceptible to durability issues if used with the older ASA softballs. We unfortunately do not have any testing results that compare the differences in performance you'll see by hitting either softball, so I could say for certain which will give you better results.
Mac
I've read some reviews about the durability of the bats in cooler areas. I live in Washington State, on the western cooler side, and was wondering if I'd have to worry about this? Cambam
Generally, we do not recommend using the 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA: (STR3MA) in temperatures less than 55 degrees. Using the bat in colder temperatures is not necessarily going to harm the bat, however, the ball will become denser in cold weather. When the ball becomes denser, the chances of the barrel becoming defective increases. Just be cautious and aware of the temperature, and know that it will always be a slight risk.
Merritt
Is this a double wall bat? ezmony
Given its two-piece design, the 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA (STR3MA) would be considered a multi-wall design.
Patrick
What is the difference between the 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA (STR3MA) and the 2014 Miken Triad Maxload ASA (STRIMA)? Softballfan1
The main difference between the 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA (STR3MA) and the Miken Triad Maxload ASA (STRIMA) is the Triad Xtreme Ballistic Performance which is a difference in the way they bake the composite materials which makes it more durable.
Patrick
I can't locate a new 34 inch 30 ounce 2015 model. When will the 2016 be released? JV
The 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (STR3MA) has been discontinued and, unfortunately, we do not have that size anymore. We have not yet gotten an expected release date for the full new Miken line of slow pitch bats.
Patrick
I am looking to get a STR3MA 34 inch 27 ounce but can't seem to locate one. Do you guys still have any? If not, can you refer? Justin
We do not have any of that size of the 2015 Miken Triad Xtreme Maxload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (STR3MA) in stock. Unfortunately, I am not finding any authorized retailer listings for that size and model in stock. The only site I saw it listed on is actually a fraudulent site so be careful if you find one and verify their legitimacy before inputting your CC information.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
