Both the -10 and -8 2012 COMbat 52 Caliber will be the same as far as performance is concerned and the carbon fiber material used in the composite material. The only difference is the length to weight ratio.
What is the break in time for this bat?
The 2012 COMbat 52 Caliber is a one-piece composite bat and we recommend 150-200 soft toss or tee swings, rotating the bat 1/4" after each swing, to break in the 52 Caliber and get it game ready.
Is this bat most similar to the COMbat B1 big barrel or the COMbat B2 big barrel? And by the way what is the difference between the 52 Caliber and the B3?
The 52 Caliber would be more similar to the B2 or the B3. Both, the B3 and the 52 Caliber will be pretty similar, but according to Combat, the B3 is supposed to maintain it's performance for a longer period of time. This is primarily due to a higher grade carbon composite resin Combat uses in the B3.

This results in more energy transfer to the ball and greater distance. Through the use of Anistrophic Composite Technology, COMbat was able to create a composite weave that enhances key parts of the barrel to optimize performance and extend durability. The sweetspot of the 52 Caliber is enlarged through the use of Variable Stiffness Technology which lowers barrel wall stiffness on each side. This gives players mega pop on every hit! Durability and solid construction are key to this year's COMbat line. That is why they have added Nanocomp Technology to the 52 Caliber.
