Description

For the past several years, the CF4 has dominated discussions about the hottest bats on the market. This year, DeMarini raises the stakes by introducing a completely revamped successor, aptly named the CF5. The CF5 is built on the principle of geometric perfection. DeMarini has unveiled a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The molecular structure of the TR3 Strut handle is designed to efficiently transition power from the hands to the barrel to give players balance and consistency with every swing. This two-piece design is engineered durable with a very high strength to weight ratio, and light enough to be worthy of Stacked Composite walls. This bat is loaded with technology, end to end. The Clutch 2 Endcap is a dual density cap designed to maintain the stiffness of the barrel while dampening impact vibration to give players an amazing feel, hit after hit! The CF5 also features Half and Half Technology that redistributes weight to give the bat optimal balance. This gives players the ability to swing faster with less effort; ultimately resulting in more power! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The CF5 is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: My daughter plays HS ball and has lacked confidence at the plate. This bat has turned her into a power hitter. The ball flies off the barrel. She is constantly driving the ball into the outfield. This bat is the choice of all players on her team.

Cons: It scratches/gouges easily.

Pros: I love this bat. I have been using Demarini's for years, and I love them. This bat has to be my favorite one so far. I use it all the time between my high school team and travel team. I my coach calls me the power hitter, because I hit triples to home runs all the time.

Pros: This bat is HOT right out of the wrapper. Huge sweet spot. Daughter loves the bat. She says it's a well balanced bats that handles exceptionally well. We had originally been looking at the -9 but due to it having to be ordered we "settled" on this one.....not a bad choice after all.

Cons: Chips and scars very easily. I've been buying fastpitch and baseball bats for more than a dozen years (11 composite bats in all)for my 3 kids, and I will always say that the price for each one including this one is way too high for a bat that has no more than $12 of material in it.

Pros: My 12 y/o loves the bat. After hitting her new bat she had much more confidence in her hitting. She has always been a good contact hitter but now she has some pop to her hits. We got what we paid for, a great bat, worth every penny. I used the free shipping and bat was at my door the next day.

Cons: Will this bat be legal next year? I hope so for the price.

Pros:

Cons: I see a lot of parents saying how their daughter loves her new bat, but mine did not get much of a chance to use it. After just a 3rd swing practicing with it, the end of the bat popped off. We had to ship it back right away to get a new one. I had to pay 50.00 to ship it and now Dimarini will not reimburse me. If you pay 300.00 for something it should atleast last longer than 1 day. I understand things happen, but I could have atleast been reimbursed for having to ship it back!

Pros: This bat has great POP right out of the box. This CF5 was purchased to replace a Worth Mayhem -12 that the end cap broke. I have a 12 & 14 year old that is shearing this bat, (until I can get another one) the first game for my 12 yr old she hit one 20 ft from the fence just foul, then she straightened it out and got a stand up triple. I would recommend the CF5 to any hitter that is looking to get that extra pop from there bat.

Cons: None with the bat, just price!I guess you have to pay to play with the best.

Best Bat EVER !!! :)

Pros: I'm on a travel team and one of the girl's on my travel team has this bat and she has hit MANY triples that are close to out of the park homeruns . The bat is light weight and she has gone from little "bloopers" in the infield to triples and very close to home runs ! I hope to be getting this bat VERY soon .

Cons: NOTHING !!!! :)

Pros: Bat is hot right out of wrapper, but we have still broke it in with 400-500 swings to make it even better. Bat has great balance throughout her swing and has provided a lot of hard hit shots all over the field.

Cons: For a $300 bat, you would expect the paint not to chip so easily!

The negative numbers mean the difference between length to weight. The higher the number, the lighter the bat. Try using our "Bat Coach" which is listed at the top on the page to find the correct length for her. The weight will just depend on what feels best to her and what gives her the best bat speed.

My friend got a CF5 and used it a full high school season for games only. Recently, about a 1/4 inch under the knob, a screw about 1/8 in diameter began to stick out through the grip. she said it'd been there for a while, but she thought it was a rock under the grip until it broke through. Any advice on if its under warranty and if its a recurring problem? Curious

A good alternative to the 2012 DeMarini CF5: DXCFP Fastpitch bat is the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFS Fastpitch bat. The newer model will perform just like last years model and has improved material, which will aid in durability and performance.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
