Ask A QuestionCan we use this bat in pitchnig practice when using the pitching machine with the dimpled balls? People have told me that this will kill the bat.Thanks.
Composite bats like the 2012 DeMarini CF5 Insane should not be used in a batting cage that uses yellow dimpled balls. The dimpled balls are too dense and can damage a composite bat.
Have decided to get my 14 year old daughter a Demarini Insane bat. Besides price whats the difference between the CF4 and the CF5 versions? Is the CF5 that much better that it's worth the extra $100.00 ?
The CF5 features a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The CF4 did not feature this material, but is still a great bat. As far as whether it's worth the extra $100, that's really not a fair question as the CF4 is on closeout pricing through DeMarini. I think the CF5 is a great bat and would be well worth the extra money.
5'6" 115lb switch hitter mostly slaps is strong for her size. will be playing college ball next spring. thinking 32 22. would this be best choice?
You must be accustomed to purchasing bats. A 32" 22oz bat would be an excellent size for you daughter based on her height, weight, age, and hitting style. One thing though, the Insane will have a slight end-loaded feel. But, if your daughter is strong like you say, then she shouldn't have a problem with it. The balanced version will be model DXCFP (just in case).
Product Description
New for 2012! For the past several years, the CF4 has dominated discussions about the hottest bats on the market. This year, DeMarini raises the stakes by introducing a completely revamped successor, aptly named the CF5. The CF5 is built on the principle of geometric perfection. DeMarini has unveiled a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The molecular structure of the TR3 Strut handle is designed to efficiently transition power from the hands to the barrel to give players balance and consistency with every swing. This two-piece design is engineered durable with a very high strength to weight ratio, and light enough to be worthy of Stacked Composite walls. A bat like this can't be plugged with any average end cap, so DeMarini engineered the new Geo Endcap to meet its needs. The Geo Endcap is full of load-balancing triangles and is designed to maintain the stiffness of the barrel while dampening vibration to give hitters an amazing feel, shot after shot! The CF5 Insane features a more endloaded weight for players looking to get an extra burst of power behind their swing! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! Approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. The CF5 Insane is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
