Questions and Answers
Got a question about the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS Mendoza: FP12M Fastpitch? Ask our team of experts, and they will respond within 24 hours.
Ask A QuestionIs there a break-in period with this bat?
Since this bat is a full composite bat, it will require a break-in. We recommend taking between 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss, starting at about 40% power and increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you rotate the barrel about a quarter of an inch in between each hit and use the same balls you would normally use in a game.
Just ordered this bat for my granddaughter, she is 10 but small for her age 60 lbs... She is learning how to play fastpitch this year. Hoping this will also add to her upper body strength...she has taken gymnastics all her life. She is very agile, but not a good consistent hitter. She can slap and bunt pretty good, fast runner, but she barely gets a ball to the outfield. I ordered this bat because I had already ordered the XENO 30" 17 oz. and she just can't get it around...wasn't going to order another expensive bat until she takes a growth spurt. Will this bat be okay for her?
I think the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS Mendoza: FP12M Fastpitch bat would be a good choice for your daughter. Usually slap hitters who lack a little power are better suited with a drop 12 bat like this one. The Mendoza is a great performing bat compared to similar bats in this price range.
My daughter is 11 years old 4'11" and 95 lbs. She usually hits solid line drives but not usually long hits to outfield. Is the TPS Mendoza a better bat for her than the DeMarini Bustos?
The 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS Mendoza: FP12M Fastpitch bat is a one-piece composite design. The 2012 DeMarini Bustos: DXBFP Fastpitch bat is a one-piece alloy design. The biggest difference between these two bats is the composition of the bats. Both are going to be high performing, durable bats.
