Ask A QuestionIs this bat hot out of the wrapper or do you have to break it in?
This is a 100% composite bat and will require a break-in period. We recommend taking about 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss. Starting out at about 40% power and increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you are rotating the bat about 1/4 of an inch after each hit and use the same balls you would typically use in a game. After your bat is broken in, it will perform better over time the more you use it and will continue to get better!
We live in MT and it's not warm until July and my daughter plays 10u. Should we go with composite or alloy due to cold weather. I know that everyone recommends not useing below 55 degrees, but it's just not that warm here.
Both alloy bats and composite bats are not recommended for use in temperatures less than 55 degrees. The cold weather does not effect the bat, it effects that ball. The cooler temperatures make the softball more dense than it is under warmer conditions and the bats are not designed to hit balls when they become more dense. I recommend trying to keep your softballs as warm as possible during practice and games.
