Ask A QuestionMy son is 9 years old, 96 lbs and 4'9" tall. I like him to have a decent bat speed and am concerned that a 30-19 is too large. He uses a regular barrel bat that is 29-17. Advice?
As a general rule of thumb, you want to move up an ounce or two in weight every time a new bat is purchased. I think a 30" 19oz model would be well suited for him. Based on his height and weight, a 30 inch bat is recommended with a weight between 17 and 20 ounces.
My son is 9 yrs old, 54" tall, and weighs 63 lbs. What size bat do you recommend for him?

I thought composite bats in Babe Ruth had to be BBCOR .50? Is this bat approved for Babe Ruth?
Youth composite bats are still legal in the Cal Ripken Division. Only in the 13-15 year old age division do you have to use a BBCOR bat if it has a composite hitting surface.
