Louisville Slugger claims the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Z-1000 BBCOR does not require a break in period because of the inner Disc Technology. It will still continue to gain pop, just like any other composite bat.
I understand that this bat is BBCOR but I play in a lot of USSSA travel tournaments and I was wondering if this bat was USSSA certified too. Thanks!
Any BBCOR approved bat can be used in USSSA leagues. BBCOR bats are -3 Adult bats only.
Was looking at the Z-1000 for my son, but he is more a contact hitter than power hitter. Seems a 2 piece bat makes more sense? Can you suggest a few options?
A two-piece bat would better suit a contact hitter. Some of our best selling two-piece adult bats are the Easton S1 or S2, Easton XL1 or XL2, DeMarini Voodoo, or the Marucci Black.

This thinner, high-strength and lightweight graphite fiber blend allows for reduced wall thickness, creating better performance while maintaining durability. The thinner fibers have allowed Louisville Slugger to use more layers in the barrel for added strength, but with an overall wall thickness that is thinner. With an balanced swing weight, the Z-1000 is built for power and control. For added performance the Z-1000 has a Louisville Slugger end cap and a 31/32" tapered handle with a synthetic grip.
