Pros: I am letting the cat out of the bag. This is the best bat for 2013. This composite bat blows the CF5 out of the water. Ton of pop! Cons:A little pricey, but if you are going to spend $299 buy this bat

Can this bat be used right out of the box or does it need a break-in period? What is the proper way to break-in a composite bat?

Yes, the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: SL13A Senior League bat will need a period of break-in. For bats with composite hitting surfaces, we recommend 150-200 hits off a batting tee or soft toss. It’s best to start off at about 40% power, and gradually increase. Also, be sure to rotate the bat a quarter of turn in your hands after every hit.

Do composite bats lose their "pop" over time? If so, about how long will it keep its integrity? Or is this just a myth?

Composite bats do no generally lose their pop over time. They maintain their performance until the bat loses its integrity.

Is this bat legal for Pony League? It says it's composite.

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: SL13A features the new USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp and is approved for play in most leagues. Because particular league rules may differ, it is best to check with a league administrator.

Product Description

New for 2013! It's time to step up and attack the diamond, because the two-piece composite just changed forever! Louisville Slugger proudly introduces their new two-piece composite bat suitably named the TPX Attack. The Attack debuts Louisville Slugger's new two-piece T2 Technology. This revolutionary new transition technology strengthens the link between the barrel and handle to give the Attack a trampoline spring and virtually elimates vibration on contact. This straighter, thicker rubber ring results in a bat that is not only sturdier, but gives players an unparalleled feel of the ball jumping off the bat. Vibration from mishits are absorbed before they reach the player's hands, allowing players to be more consistent with their hitting. The Attack is constructed from Louisville Slugger's LS-2X Composite that uses thinner, high-strength and lightweight graphite fibers to add more layers to the barrel for reinforced strength, while reducing the overall thickness of the barrel wall. More pop, less weight: that's the formula for better performance AND durability. With a balanced swing weight and an easy to grip 7/8 inch standard handle, this bat will have hitters ATTACKING the strike zone like never before! Louisville Slugger: Be the Best, or Swing the Rest! The Attack features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp and is approved for play in 2012 and beyond. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
