Rather than thickening the walls of bats to bring them in line with BBCOR standards, Louisville Slugger has inserted a very light one inch wide graphite band. Not only does this flex-band give the bat the lowest swing weight available in its BBCOR hybrid class, it is small enough that the sweet spot feels just like high performing BESR bats of the past. Simply put, LS BBCOR bats combine high-tech performance shells with flex-band technology. This translates to lower M.O.I. (moment of inertia), which means a lighter swing weight and preferred feel. This bat starts out with Louisville Slugger's AC21 Scandium Alloy which is one of the most durable and responsive alloys on the market. Moving toward the handle you'll find that the metal is trimmed into a grid-like pattern and replaced with carbon composite inserts. These inserts are several times stronger than the metal they replace which gives the EXOGRID 3 not only its name, but also its unwavering durability. Inside the bat, the heart of the EXOGRID 3 can be found in the form of an internal carbon composite sleeve. This provides greater handle stiffness than alloy alone ever could.
