2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha XL: SL136XL Senior League review by fyrman
Pros: After comparing the Easton S3 and this bat, I decided to go for the Omaha XL. My son has used it three times already at batting practice and loves the feel of it. Nice POP when ball makes contact in its sweet spot. He is a 8 yr. old and loves to swing the 29" -10 drop bat! Bat is well balanced, not too heavy and gloves are not needed because of the excellent grip. Cons:Not really a negative but grip is all white. So if you are particular about having a spotless bat then this might not be for you. (There is dirt involved in the sport of baseball!!!!)

For a contact hitter, would you recommend this bat, or the Easton S2?

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha XL: SL136XL Senior League and Easton S2 are both balanced bats, which is great for a contact hitter. The two-piece Easton S2 might work out a little though, because the flex in the bat will help you increase your bat speed.

What would be the best size for a 6 year old that weighs about 56 pounds?

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha XL: SL136XL Senior League bat will be for an older hitter. You should look for a 27" bat length in a Youth bat.

Difference between alloys of Omaha Senior League bat and Omaha Coach Pitch bat?

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha XL: SL136XL Senior League uses a different alloy than the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha XL: YB136XL Junior Big Barrel. The Junior Big Barrel will have thinner alloy walls that are slightly higher performing than the Senior League's alloy walls, which are designed to withstand higher velocity pitching.
