2013 Worth Mayhem BJ Fulk: SBMABJ Slow Pitch review by 7 days a week baller
Pros: nice looking bat. Feels like the designs are some kind of stickers, but still looks great. Cons:This bat is very tight, does not hit well out of the wrapper. Maybe in time it will impress me. However, right now, I am not truly impressed!

Is this bat manufactored to perform better with the .52 cor 300 comp. balls? Also, I have heard this bat is thinner and is prone to stress cracks. How true is this, and if so, will it affect performance?

The 2013 Worth Mayhem BJ Fulk: SBMABJ was manufactured under the new ASA standards and will perform best with .52 300 ASA softballs. We have no records of durability issues with this bat since its release. Many high end composite bats will develop superficial spiderweb cracks, but this does not effect the performance of the bat in a negative way.

Since this is under the new ASA specs does that mean it will have more pop than the older asa or usssa models?

The biggest change has to do with how ASA performs their tests. In the past, ASA bats were tested with a cannon that fired a softball at the barrel of a bat at 110 mph. This test measured the balls exit speed off of the barrel to ensure the bat’s performance didn’t result in an exit speed greater than 98 mph. In the new test, the ball is fired at 105 mph instead of 110, but allows the exit speed to remain at 98 mph. The decrease in cannon speed allows for a greater bat performance. By slowing down the rate of the ball in the test, manufacturers can increase the speed at which the ball leaves the bat. It's hard to say if it will perform better than USSSA models, as testing is different for both certifications.

Product Description

New for 2013! Made in the U.S.A., both BJ Fulk and his new signature Worth Mayhem will undoubtedly wreak havoc on slow pitch fields across the country this season! The ASA approved BJ Fulk Mayhem features a classic one-piece composite design with a stiff handle for maximum power. Inside, a high performance, multi-layer composite core helps to provide exceptional rebound and maximum durability. This 100% composite bat is designed with High Modulus Fiber (HMF) Technology that uses fibers with smaller diameters in order to allow more of them to be woven together. This results in amplified strength for greater performance and a longer life span. The BJ Fulk Mayhem features technologically advanced manufacturing processes to ensure that it's one of top bats on the field. The bat must go through Worth's Rapid Air Vacuum (RAV) process where a pressurized mold holds the composite layers in place. Following that is the Epoxy Induction Process (EIP) which introduces a 2-part epoxy that is pulled through the woven layers. These processes create one of the strongest, most solid and highest performing bats available. The BJ Fulk Mayhem features balanced loading for one of the most true-to-weight feels on the market. This balance also gives players maximum control and consistency. Worth: 100 Years of Performance Through Technology! The Mayhem BJ Fulk features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA ONLY. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

About Worth

Worth Worth, Inc. can trace its beginning back to the year 1912, when George Sharp Lannom, Jr. purchased a tannery in Tullahoma, Tennessee and established the Lannom Manufacturing Company. Initially, the firm tanned leather for harnesses and horse collars they manufactured. However, as the automobile grew in popularity, the demand for the company's harnesses and collars declined, so Lannom shifted its manufacturing resources toward production of leather covered baseballs and softballs under the "Worth" brand, and men's leather dress gloves under the "Craig" brand.
