Ready for Lift Off! Rob parent
Pros: COMbat has added another bat to the already loaded arsenal. If you are confused as to which bat to purchase just like me, then let me make the choice simple. The Combat Portent is an absolute beast! I purchased this bat for my 7 year old son who plays travel baseball. Through the spring and summer seasons he used an Easton Reflex 27" 13 oz. He out grew the bat and I decided to go with a COMbat based on the success my oldest son had with the B4. After a brief break-in period of 100-150 hits off the tee and soft toss, his first hit with the bat was a frozen rope into the mid outfield. With his Reflex he would barely make it to the outfield grass. Now his confidence is soaring and at an all time high. Thank you COMbat.
Cons: None, have only owned the bat for a short period.
Perfect for my son 1bigkid coach
Pros: My 11yr old has the 31/21 portant and this one the 31/19. He uses the -12 almost all of the time. After several 100 soft tosses this bat seems very hot and ready to go. Worked great for winter ball. My son was able to keep his hands back longer then the heavier endloaded bats and had plenty of good rips into right field and when he was pitched inside he roped it down 3rd. He was able to make solid contact off the nastiest of little league pitchers just because of his quicker hands. Great bat very pleased to have one.
Cons: Smaller sweet spot then other bats but not by much.
Once again well done ComBAT Jay B coach
Pros: Last season we had the 28-16 B4 ComBAT and my son had a great season with it, the key is to break the bat in with lots of tee work, that bat still has lots of life left to it. This season we are going with the ComBAT 28-16 Portent, the only difference I have seen so far is the barrel on the Portent is thinner than that of the B4, maybe 1/2-3/4 of an inch in diameter. So far with 250 +swings off Tee (so far) this bat is every bit as good as the B4, lots of pop and my son loves it. Ball jumps off bat.
Cons: None
Very good bat You player
Pros: Everything you think it needs

My son's favorite Combat matt's dad parent
Pros: My son just received his portent in the mail yesterday. He had hus try outs this morning. He hit further than he has ever hit before. Coaches stopped to look at the bat.
Cons: nothing yet
Had it 1 day and wished I never bought it Collins dad coach
Pros: Stiff bat feels great well balanced !
Cons: No pop my son uses the Easton s1 @ the Easton s3 and the combat can't touch either of them
Portent Amazes Mike Leary parent
Pros: Just got this bat for my 12yo son last week. He has had other composite bats in the past -- Demarini CF5 and Easton S1. The challenge he's had has been balance in the bat and the amount of "break-in". The Portent really only required about 200-250 tee swings. First game it was evident that the bat had pop. My son said that what noticed most was the great feel of the bat through the swing path. It's not end-loaded and it feels light in his hands. The next big thing for him was the amazing feel even on hits that aren't solid in the sweet spot. Lastly, he said that the bat isn't as "stiff" on impact -- he remarked that is felt way better than his CF5 and reminded him of the old Omen bats.
Cons: No cons to report -- haven't had it long enough yet.
Amazing drop 12 bat 1bigkid coach
Pros: Once this bat breaks in it's scary how fast the ball comes off the bat. For -12 the power behind this bat is crazy. The sound is different once it's broken in. I've seen coaches and umps check the bat just because of the sound it makes. Great durability had it for winter and spring and it's still going strong. Have an older b4 that we use for the cages and that is still solid. I'm sold on COMbats and I'd buy another.
Cons: Not sure if it's just my portant or all of them but it took forever to break in. It literally took 1000+ hits to break in but once it did I could hardly believe the difference day and night.
amazing ss player
Pros: honestly this thing is like a softball bat..... it could easily be illegal
Cons: a lot of vibration..... not very durable
Sweet spot Breton player
Pros: When you hit the ball in the big sweet spot it is going to be hit hard.
Cons: When you get it on the hands you get a little bit of vibration.
Better than MAKO Eric Yim player
Pros: This bat has so much pop its scary, no bat I have ever held had more power. Even though it is a one piece design i felt barely any sting. I highly recommend this bat.
Cons: None
First Combat ER parent
Pros: My son loves this bat. Still working through the break-in period, but overall very stable. Ball pops off the bat with little to no effort on his swing. He's 8yrs old and a speed hitter with average power. Hitting more line drives lately with lots of confidence behind his swings. Moved from an Easton Mako (28x18) which was slightly heavy for his size. No sting whatsoever.
Cons: Break-in period on composite bats can be a bit tedious.
AMAZING BAT Cesar player
Pros: very good feel, has lots of pop, and from what im seeing it's very durable
Cons: has a little viberation but not as bad as other bats
Very solid, quality bat APR parent
Pros: My son has just broken in this bat and the sound is fantastic. The extended barrel has allowed him to keep a larger sweet spot on the ball and hit line drives using the whole field.
Cons: Quite a bit of vibration if hit towards the end of the bat.
Rookie year 8U Homerun hitter Robert parent
Pros: Great weight distribution Good pop No vibration I swear that my son was the only "Small" bat barrel hitter in the league. Most kids were hitting the 2-5/8" bats that were very short in length. I started working with him 2 months before the season started and he finally put one over the centerfield fence in the playoffs 4 months after his first swing at a baseball. He and 3 other kids were the only ones to accomplish this. I am not one to believe that the bat that creates the hitter but I would agree that the quality of this bat did have a big impact on his mechanics.
Cons: Shows wear signs easily (Not really a con though)
