Ask A QuestionMy daughter plays H.S. ball as a freshman. She is not big (5' 2" and 117 lbs). She has extremely quick hands, but is not real powerful. She owns this bat, but a CF5 model from a year ago. She likes the bat still, but I know it will soon wear out. Do you think she should look into a -10? How much difference is there between the Insane's swing since it's end loaded?
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFS Fastpitch bat will have a very balanced swing weight; much like the CF5 model that she currently swings. The end load in the Insane model is definitely noticeable when compared to the other CF6 models. That end loaded swing weight is really designed for the high swing speeds of power hitters. If she has quick hands, but generally hits line drives, you may be better-off with a balanced model like the CF5 she has. The end load is not for everyone, and I would not trade the end load for bat speed. The length to weight ratio that a player chooses comes down to what they are most comfortable swinging.
