Description

The DeMarini CF6 uses groundbreaking technology to produce a youth bat that can do some serious destruction on the diamond! Constructing the CF6 using their new Paradox Composite barrel and handle on this two-piece design creates a more compact carbon that enables DeMarini to make the new CF6 lighter and stronger than ever before. This year's CF6 features DeMarini's D-Fusion handle that eliminates all vibration for the smoothest feel of any bat on the diamond, and also creates an extended sweet spot through the entire barrel by transferring the energy from the handle back into the barrel. This revolutionary design has been praised by players that have tried it, because it allows you to swing harder without the fear of a mishit. The stronger design allows for more even weight distribution, which in turn produces faster bat speeds! Paradox Composite makes the barrel stronger, while being scientifically shaped to feel softer on impact. This makes for a bigger, hotter, and more responsive sweet spot and consistently more powerful swings! The CF6 features ParadoX Composite that creates a trampoline effect across the entirety of the barrel for completely optimized performance. The CF6 also features a Geo End Cap that's focus is on keeping the barrel stiff and not letting energy escape through the end of the bat. This gives each and every hit an extra blast of energy. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The DeMarini CF6 WTDXCFL features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Disappointed to some degree Oliver M parent

Pros: Son says feeling feels okay, little or no vibration.

Cons: Sweet spot has been smaller than he would have liked. Have to hit the ball just perfect for the ball to pop which at 9 is very hard to do. He says the CF5 had a bigger sweet spot. Pop is just okay, nothing better than other bats used. Very very balanced so if 29, use a 30, etc. Bat is lighter for the bigger boys.

Pros: The cf6 has no vibrational when hitting the ball especially of the end cap. Awesome grip and feeling. I have a cf5 and the cf6 has bigger sweet spot then the cf5 to me. The ball jumps of the and has so much pop in it, overall just a great bat

Solid so far DMT parent

Pros: My son only used a couple of times in the cage, but there's a noticeable increase in exit velocity off bat and very little vibration on miss-hits. The bat seems pretty well balanced. Can't really comment on durability yet.

I was wrong Sam parent

Pros: I wrote a review earlier that said this bat had little pop. I was wrong. Bat needs to be broken in, plain and simple. After about 45 days or about 500 balls, this thing is hot. Ball flies off the bat after its ready to go and now my son is using this thing over his other bats. Nice sweat spot.

Cons: Bat needs about 500-700 balls to break in. But it pops after it does.

Good look but disappointed Scott parent

Pros: As much as i love the CF5 i was disappointed with the new CF6. Ordered a 30/19 and when i compared it to the CF5 the CF6 Barrel was about an inch smaller + it felt heavy so i had it weighed and it was over 2 onces too heavy. Ended up being a 30/21. We never hit a ball with it, resold it. I would assume everything else about the bat is still good.

Cons: Smaller Barrel than the CF5 and not the correct weight.

Wow, Just Wow Pierce Mehrten player

Pros: Wow I had 2 baseball games for my 13u USSSA team, I ended up using this batt hitting 6 times in 2 games and i can not explain how good it is! 5 doubles, and one single, now my 5 doubles were all great powerful hits and just launched the ball, They could of been easily 5 triples but I am Extremely slow. I highly recommend this bat to any baseball player out there.

This bat hits rockets! Johnny Y parent

Pros: My son is a 10yr old playing LL minors division. We bought this bat and as has been reported previously, it required a minimum of 600 balls to break in. The players on my sons team are all noticing how my sons hits land rockets to the fence. If you get your hands through the zone the ball fly's off the bat! It is either a rocket through the infield, or a rocket line drive. In any case, all the travel ball players on our team are now very interested in this bat.

Cons: 500-700 swings to break it in properly.

Jerry

Pros: As any parent wants their kid to play to the best of their potential, I always try to give him the best tools to do so. I am a believer that this bat has brought my sons hitting to the next level. The ball screams off the bat making your routine outs that much harder to handle. He's only got about 75 hits off the bat, I can't wait till 500-700 for proper break in. I know there's a lot of bats out there to choose from but we're pretty stoked we got the CF6.

Cons: Nothing so far.

Pros: Where do I start! This bat has exceptional pop! It is extremely balanced. It has exceed my expectations! I want all the other players to keep buying the makos and leave the advantage to my team!

This bat hits bombs! Country boy player

Pros: This bat is really hot right out of the wrapper. I bought the bat the day before my 11U AAU game and had no chance to break it in. I used it in BP before the game and I was amazed the pop and feel of the bat. So I decided to use it in the game. The first at bat against the best pitcher I laced one up the middle. Then I hit a bomb dead center field and got robbed of a home run! And to think that it isn't even broken in yet! The feel is really good no vibration at all it looks awesome and the pop is unbelievable! I can't judge on durability yet because I've only played in one game and practice. Get this bat! It will be the best decision you will ever make!

Cons: The grip starts to hurt your hands after a while so where batting gloves! Another complaint is why did demarini have to make there bat so good because now everyone wants to use it!

Not feeling the love for the CF6 Steve L parent

Pros: The hope that it may get better with more break-in.

Cons: First, I am a fan of DeMarini. My son has used the Vexuum, Voodoo and CF5 in the past and loved them all. That's why he wanted the CF6 the minute it came out. Maybe we got a lemon? But, we're not feeling the love for the bat. The sweet spot is smaller than his CF5 LE. And, for a bat that says there is no vibration, you do feel the mishit in your hands. While my son LOVES his CF5, this bat just does not feel the same. And, I am not seeing to pop - compared to his other DeMarini bats. Break in? He's taken, easily, 500 swings off the tee with it by now - maybe more. Not sure if it's ever going to get better.

Pretty Good Me player

Pros: Great bat, one of the best I've had, yet didn't meet my expectations.

Cons: As I said, it's a great bat, but compared to my XL1, not my favorite. Although I hit a homerun my first at bat of the season, it was barely over, with my XL1 I easily hit them out, and DEEP. Overall, very good bat, but not the best.

Should have got the Mako Matt Endicott parent

Pros: We hope that it will get broken in soon. Also like the D-Fusion Handel.

Cons: My son Josh got the DeMarini CF5 LE last year for his all-star team, and he is still hitting home runs and crushing the ball with the bat. Then we decided to check out the 2014 Easton XL1, he hasent used it much, but when he does the ball flys off the bat. But when he saw the CF6 he told he that he wanted the bat, but at the same time we wanted the Mako. So I asked some of my friends and they said that he should get the CF6. So we ended up getting the CF6, and so far im not very impressed and he has atleast taken 100 swings, maybe even more. So if your son says that he wants the CF6, ask to check the Mako first becaused he will like it much more.

Great bat Baseball dad parent

Pros: When my son is playing 8u coach pitch all stars he uses his 29/19 xl1. When playing 9u Allstars he uses his 29/18 cf6. He has more control and is able to wait longer before swinging with the cf6 than his xl1. The cf6 has 0 sting on Mishits and great pop too. The xl1 barrel is slightly longer but sweet spots are similar. This also takes far less time to break in compared to his xl1.

Cons: Too balanced for some. Grip is not the most comfortable.

2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat DXCFL David W. parent

Pros: The way the ball is jumping off the bat right now is AWESOME!!! My son can't wait until the bat gets completely broken in. At that time it should be lights out. A few of the kids on his team that own MAKO'S are using it and like it alot. My gut feeling on this bat is that it's the best thing for my son right now. If I still coached I would have bought a few of these for the rest of the team.

First composite bat - good purchase DS parent

Pros: We bought the DeMarini CF6 (29" 18oz) bat for our 8 year old son. He is much more of a contact - hit it in the gaps type of hitter and didn't really hit for any serious power. He had always used an Easton aluminum bat and did well but this CF6 definitely raised his game this past fall season. The hits that used to just go over the SS & 2nd baseman's head into the gaps now went over the outfielders heads and hit the fence. Love the sound it makes on a solid hit....more like the loud crack of a wooden bat. You could definitely hear the difference once the bat was fully broken in and it only seems to be getting better as my son hits more with it this winter. He says there is no sting at all with any hits.

Cons: When we first got it I thought it felt much heavier than other 18oz bats that I had picked up. Without saying anything to him my son felt the same way. The bat is balanced ok but does seem to have a little bit more weight at the end for power. Not a big deal. My son just chokes up a little and that counteracts that little extra weight.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: DXCFL? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this youth compare to the XL1 as far as pop is concerned? Sean
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth bat is a two-piece fully composite design comparable to the Easton XL1. The both are top of the line models, the main difference is the CF6 features a balanced swing weight and the XL1 features an end loaded swing weight.
Aubrey
How does this compare to the CF5? More pop? Dave
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth bat and the Cf5 both feature TR3 F.L.O. composite and should have comparable pop off the barrel.
Aubrey
How big is the sweet spot in 31" compared to a 31" Easton Mako? Colby
Both the Easton Mako and the 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth bat will have large sweet spots. The Mako will have an extended barrel which could give you more of a longer hitting surface.
Brandon
Will the stiffness of this bat be noticeable in my swing? thatguywhoasksalotofquestions
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth is going to have a stiffer feel to the swing. The D-Fusion handle will also help dampen the vibrations that typically reach your hands on other bats.
Brandon
Overall, how does the 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth compare to the 2014 Easton S1: YB14S1 Youth? Steve
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth bat will have the same two-piece fully composite design as the 2014 Easton S1. Both are very balanced and will have light swing weights.
Brandon
Is the barrel length the same in a 2012 CF5? Also how much of a difference in barrel length in the XL1? ryan
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth has the same barrel length as the CF5. The Easton XL1 has approximately a 1/4" longer barrel than the CF6.
Kara
What is the difference between this and the 2013 CF5? Is this bat more comparable to the MAKO or the XL1? ryan
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth features a D-Fusion handle that helps to eliminate vibration. Also different from the CF5, the CF6 features a new Paradox composite that is supposed to be more durable. The CF6 will be more comparable to the MAKO because both will be light weight and balanced.

Does it sting if it gets hit on the very end or on the handle? the slugger
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth has the D-Fusion handle which eliminates vibration and sting.
Jason
What is the recommended break-in process for the 2014 DeMarini CF6 DXCFL Youth? Steve
For the DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) model we recommend around 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the barrel of the bat every 15-20 swings to fully break in the composite fibers throughout the barrel.
John
My son is 9; will be 10 at the start of baseball season. He is about 53 inches and approximately 70 lbs. He is more of a contact hitter with a high batting average but is looking to gain more power and distance. He plays league and competitive travel ball. What bat do you recommend? suzanne
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth would be a great option. The two-piece design is suited for a contact hitter. It is very balanced, and uses top of the line composite materials for outstanding performance and durability.
Kara
What do you feel is the key difference between the DeMarini CF6 and the Easton XL1 for 2014? Brian
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth is going to be balanced and light weight. The Easton XL1 will feel slightly end loaded.
Tori
Is this bat little league approved? Can bats be returned once purchased in the event our league doesn't approve use? Krista
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) is approved for play in Little League. There is no time frame that unused items in their original condition may be returned for exchange or refund.
John
What will swing heavier; the CF6 or the new Voodoo Overlord? James
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth has a balanced swing weight and will swing lighter than the Voodoo Overlord and its end loaded swing weight.
Jason
What are the temperature/cold weather limitations for this bat? Rob
Typically for any bat, including the 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth, we do not recommend using a bat in temperatures colder than 55 degrees. The cold weather makes the ball harder which causes more stress on the composite fibers in the barrel of the bat.
Tessa L.
What's the difference between the CF6 and the COMbat Wanted or COMbat Portent? Snail man
The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth bat will be a two-piece full composite design just like the COMbat Wanted. The COMbat Portent will be a one-piece composite design that will be very stiff. All will be balanced through the zone.
Brandon
Is the Demarini cf6 for contact hitters or power hitters? Jboy11
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth will be more suited for contact hitters. The two-piece design allows the barrel to flex at the point of contact creating a trampoline effect off the barrel, which is great for contact hitters who need to generate more power.
Kelby
My sister is playing baseball for the first time, she is 4' 3" and 50 pounds. What size would fit her best? baseballgirls
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 28" 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL). For more information regarding sizing, check out our awesome Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa L.
Son is 12 years old. Two time all star 5'4" 125 lbs and solid. Has a XL2 31" 20 oz. Looking for a bat that will compliment his power. harry
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) is a balanced, two-piece composite bat. It is typically used by contact hitters that need to increase their bat speed. It is a very high performing bat with great pop.
Kara
Is this bat Pony League approved? Blake
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is approved for play in Pony League.
Jason
My son has the DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth. We got him the 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth and he says it feels different. Is the CF6 more end loaded than the CF5 or vice versa? Is it the difference in the end cap that makes it feel different? Steve
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) is a balanced bat like the DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE). The CF6 does use different composite material and has new di-fusion technology to reduce vibration. The change in materials should not change the balance of the bat.
Kara
Is this bat Babe Ruth approved? jen
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth model bat is approved for Babe Ruth League play. However, it would be advisable to double check with your coach to make sure that your specific league does not restrict composite barrel bats.
Patrick
The barrel on this bat looks a lot smaller than the CF5 that I had last year. What's the difference? I need to know because me and my dad want to get either the 2014 MAKO,or this bat. Which do I choose? Grant
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) and the DeMarini CF5 (DXCFL) have the same size barrel. The CF5 has a shorter taper than the CF6, which make is look bigger. The MAKO has about 1/4" to a 1/2" longer barrel.
Kara
I am a contact hitter who needs more power without the bat being heavy. Which bat do you prefer. cam
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) would be a great choice. It features a very light weight, balanced swing weight that will allow you to generate more bat speed.
Bobby
I am 5'7" 1/2, and weigh 170 pounds. I am both a contact hitter and a power hitter, but more of a power hitter. What bat would you suggest? The CF6 BBCOR, or the Easton XL1 2014 BBCOR? Zak
If you are more of a power hitter, I would probably suggest going for the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: (BB14X1). This model will be a two-piece full composite, and will be end loaded. Generally, power players are going to find this model to be more suited for their game. However, it will also work well for contact hitters. This model has been extremely popular and has been highly reviewed. It would be a great option to check out, and will fit your game very well.
Merritt
does this bat come in 28/16 or a 28/17 jaymel
Unfortunately, a 29" 18 oz. is the smalles size the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) comes in.
Bobby
I have a 11 year old son who loves DeMarini and wants a big barrel bat. I was told to go with the 2 5/8" barrel, but he likes this one. Is this bat in the same league as the big barrels? Is this more of a standard size bat? Tracie
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter and is not considered a big barrel. The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFX) Senior League is the same bat, but is the big barrel version with a 2 5/8" barrel.
Jason
Is the DeMarini CF6 better than DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD? Kate
Both the Voodoo OVERLORD and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL Youth) would be an excellent bat choice for any player. The CF6 will be a full two-piece composite with a super balanced feel. The Voodoo OVERLORD will have a longer more extended barrel with a slight barrel heaviness to the swing weight. It is safe to say I see more power guys liking the OVERLORD.
Brandon
What is better: The CF6 youth or the MAKO youth? slicker bballer2
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth and the Easton MAKO are very similar in all aspects. They both are two-piece fully composite designs with balanced swing weights. The performance between the two bats is similar and one is not better than the other.
Jason
Is the 2014 Demarini CF6 DXCFL legal for Little League junior league division? 3sons
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFR) will not be legal for Junior League play due to its composite barrel. League rules state that bats with composite barrels must have a -3 length to weight ratio and be BBCOR certified.
Bobby
Are the DeMarini CF6 Youth and the DeMarini CF6 Senior League bat the same thing? K
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth will have a smaller 2 1/4" barrel compared to the DeMarini CF6 Senior League which will have a larger 2 5/8" barrel.
Kelby
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth will have a smaller 2 1/4" barrel compared to the DeMarini CF6 Senior League which will have a larger 2 5/8" barrel.
Kelby
What is the best way to break in this bat? tman984
The best way to break in the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) would be to start at 40% power and hit 150-200 hits off a tee or soft-toss and gradually increase power as you get closer to the 150 swing mark. To ensure a nice even break-in I would also recommend to rotate the barrel a quarter of an inch each hit. Make sure you use real leather baseballs and not the dimpled baseballs found in batting cages.
Zach
What is the difference between the 2013 DeMarini CF5 and the 2014 DeMarini CF6? Jim
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth features a new composite material (Paradox Composite) for a larger sweet spot while the CF5 is made from TR3 F.L.O. Composite. The CF6 also offers the new D-Fusion handle technology that eliminates vibration and transfers energy more efficiently on contact.
Mac
My son has an XL3 one piece bat and he loves it. How does the DeMarini CF6 compare? country
Comparing the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) and the 2014 Easton XL3 (YB14X3) would be like comparing apples to oranges. While they are both high performing models, their designs are almost directly opposite. The CF6 is a two-piece, balanced, composite design. The XL3 is a one-piece, end-loaded, alloy. The bat will feel very different for the player. The weight, feedback, and flex would all be different. Both options are good performers though.
Patrick
I am on the 12 year old All Stars and I am 89 pounds. I hit in the 2 spot and hit with power. Will a 32" 21 oz give me the power and the authority to get on base? Pirates19
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth is a great bat for any hitter type. The best way to determine bat size is by the players height and weight. Check out our Bat Coach for more sizing information: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
I am 10 years old, five feet tall and weigh 85 pounds. I am looking for a bat that is 31 inches. What size should I get? AWESOME kid
For a player of your size I think the 31"/20oz. 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) would be a perfect fit.
Gary T.
I'm looking to get a composite bat for my son. We live in upstate NY where the early part of the season it can be quite cold. I have read not to use the Easton Mako in weather under 60 degrees. Does this hold weight for the DeMarini CF6 as well? Mac
Unfortunately, all bats can see durability issues below 55 degrees. This is because the ball can condense at that point and become harder so it becomes an object that the bat was not designed to hit. This durability issue is more prevalent in composite barrel bats like the 2014 DeMarini CF (DXCFL) and the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK). Wood bats, or bats at a lower price point that you would not mind getting damaged maybe would be the best options in those situations.
Patrick
I am 5' tall, 85 pounds and 10 years old. I can swing a bat around 21 oz. I use a 31" bat. Should I get the Easton XL1 or this bat? AWESOME kid
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth is slightly more balanced and is typically better for contact hitters because of the lighter swing weight. The Easton XL1 has a slight end load and is better for power hitters because of the heavier design.
Jason
My son is 10. He is about 4'10" and is using an Easton XL3 29", -11, 2 1/4". Is this too short? If so, how would the CF6 be better? Next year they can hit big barrels. Thanks for the time. confused Dad
Yes, at his age and size, a 30" 20 oz. would be recommended. The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL Youth) will be a two-piece design and feel very balanced in swing weight. It will allow for faster bat speeds. It will also cut down on the vibration and hand sting that he has been feeling on his XL3.
Brandon
I am 4'4" 73 lbs. Is this a bat that I could use next year? j
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth is an excellent top of the line bat that will work great this year and next year. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 29" model so it fits you well this year and next year.
Jason
Is this bat fully composite? j
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) would be a two-piece fully composite design.
Patrick
Trying to determine if this bat or the Voodo OVERLORD is a better choice. My son is 12. He's a lead off, contact hitter for high avg. Not a homerun hitter. Has been using the MAKO 31"/20 oz. but it seems heavier than listed. He previously used a CF5. Tony
We typically see contact hitters preferring balanced bats like the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL). The CF6 will definitely swing lighter than the Easton MAKO. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD is a more end loaded bat that is usually used by power hitters, so I would suggest the CF6.
Kelby
I am 5'1", 85 pounds and 11 years old. I am more of a power hitter, and I am looking at the CF6 and the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD. Which bat, and what size should I get? Jonah
Based on your approximate height and weight the size we would recommend would be 30". However based on your playing style, I would probably recommend the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: (DXVDL). This model will have a slight end-load, and generally this characteristic is preferred by power players.
Merritt
How does the vibration and overall feel/ balance of this bat compare to that of the MAKO? That kid who writes really long questions
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth will be well balanced like the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) Youth and have minimal vibration as well because they are both two-piece composite bats.
Damon
Will we be able to return the bat if we use it and don't like it? JJ
Unfortunately, we are unable to take used bats back into our warehouse. We recommend taking practice swings with the bat still in the wrapper using a tennis ball. It will give you an idea on the feel of the bat while also not causing damage to the barrel. So if it is not to your liking, you can return the unused bat back to us for a full refund or exchange.
Tessa
I am around 5' tall and 90 lbs. I'm a power hitter. What bat should I get? tdog
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL Youth) bat would be a fantastic choice. It will feel very balanced and have a light swing weight. The performance would be great for a contact or a power hitter!
Brandon
I am a player who gets on base a lot. However, I want to hit home runs. Should I get the XL1 or this? lpapi
If you are more of a contact hitter, the 2014 DeMarini CF6: (DXCFL) will be more designed for your game. The balanced, two-piece composite design will provided added flex through the zone and is generally preferred by contact hitters. However, if you think your game is more designed for power, the end-load on the 2014 Easton XL1: (YB14X1) will fit the characteristics of your game.
Merritt
Can you use this bat for fastpitch softball? Shrope
No, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) is not legal for fastpitch softball. It has a BPF of 1.15 and to be legal for play in fastpitch softball, it would have to have a BPF of 1.20.
John H
I got two trade offers for my Easton Blue Omen XL. I want to know if I should trade it for the Easton S1 or the DeMarini CF6. Bubba
Both models are going to be fairly similar in the sense they are two-piece composite designs. I would probably suggest the 2014 DeMarini CF6: (DXCFL). This model will incorporate D-Fusion technology to help reduce vibrations and extend the sweet spot. The Paradox composite material incorporated is also going to be very hot.
Merritt
Which barrel is longer and by how much? The CF6's barrel or the XL1's barrel for a 31" bat? J
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL Youth) will have a slightly shorter barrel length when compared to the Easton XL1. The difference in barrel size will be between 1"-2".
Brandon
Can I send this back if I don't love it? To get the Easton MAKO. AWESOME kid
You can always return the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL Youth) and any unused items here for refunds or exchanges at anytime.
Brandon
Why has the price dropped so dramatically? ryan
The price on the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL Youth) bat has come down due to the new 2015 DeMarini bat line releasing in early September.
Brandon
I am 4'4" and 68 lbs, and I am a singles and doubles hitter. Do you think the DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) or the DeMarini Voodoo would be a better choice? brycie j
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) Youth and the Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDL) are both great bats for contact hitters. However, if you can swing the heavier -11, the CF6 will be a slightly better option. The CF6 is one of the more balanced bats available. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 29" model.
Jason
Does the 19 oz. CF6 weigh 19 oz.? I bought a 19 oz. MAKO and it weighs 20.8 oz. That is a huge difference and is too heavy for my 10 year old. Can you verify the weight for the CF6? I have heard the DeMarini's are also much heavier than the listed weight. jay
The 19 oz. 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: DXCFL will weigh 19 oz. DeMarini lists the drop weight on each model and size. Here is their number in case you would like to ask them: 1-800-937-2287.
Brandon
I am in my second year of national league baseball. I would like to know if this CF6 DXCFL would be the right bat for youth pony league? Nike_Swag19
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) would be approved for Shetland, Pinto, Mustang and Bronco levels of play within the Pony League rules.
Patrick
Is it USSSA approved? bbplaya
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) will have the USSSA stamp on the bat and be USSSA approved.
Kelby
I am 12 years old and am 5'2" and weigh 130 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? Kolton
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" model in the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL).
Jason
Is the cf6 feel light to swing and fast baseballislife
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) is going to be a very balanced bat and will help with your bat speed.
Cooper
I am 4'11'' and weigh 110 lbs. What size bat should I get? Rob
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL).
Jason
Why don't I see the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFL) on the Little League approved composite bat list? Only the CF6 (CFL-14) is listed. Dave
Those two product codes are actually just different variations for the same bat. If you were to look at the same 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) on DeMarini's web site, the product code would also vary. Players have been using this model in Little League baseball throughout the Summer without issues, but the CF6 (CFL-14) is the same model as the (DXCFL) we have here.
Mac
Is the CF6 (DXCFL) a big barrel bat? Nike_baseball-19
No, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) has a 2 1/4" barrel. The CF6 Senior League (DXCFX) has a 2 5/8" with a -10 drop.
John
Is the sweet spot on the CF6 bigger than the MAKO? AWESOME kid
No. The sweet spot on the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) would not be considered bigger than the 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB14MK).
Patrick
Is this a bat for power or contact? carter will
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) features a balanced swing weight, which is generally preferred by contact hitters.
Tessa
What is the difference between the 2014 CF6 and the 2015 CF7? Bone-A
The low profile end cap of the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) makes it a bit more balanced than the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) giving it an even lower M.O.I.
Patrick
Does anyone know the break in period for this bat. My son has other DeMarini bats but this is his first composite bat.. I have heard others talk about the break in times. So, I figured I would ask. Also is BP the best and only way to break in a composite bat? sheff
Yes, the 2014 DeMArini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) will require a break-in period. We recommend right around 150 swings off the tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the barrel about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings.
John
I am 16 years old, 5'4" and 120 pounds. Will I be able to use it in high school play? Is it BBCOR certified? el oso blanco
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL) is not BBCOR certified. Therefore, this model would not be eligible for play in high school.
Merritt
What is the smallest 2014 DeMarini CF6 or 2015 CF7 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL) bat? Tim
The smallest youth size available in the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL) and 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL) is a 29" 18 oz.
Merritt
Which bat would be better and why: the 2014 DeMarini CF6 or 2015 DeMarini CF7? My son is on a travel ball team 4' 50 lbs, and we are going to up grade bats. Tim
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) and the CF7 are very similar bats. They both use Paradox composite and have balanced swing weights. The CF7 is an upgrade over the CF6 though, because of the upgraded D-Fusion handle. The new D-Fusion FT technology maximized energy transfer and eliminates all vibrations.
Jason
I'm looking at this bat for my 8 year old son. He's tall for his age, and is around 4'11" and 92 lbs. He will be turning 9 years old in March. Would you recommend a 30" or 31" bat for him? He was using a 29" Easton Reflex this past season. Also, do you think he will notice a big difference with the CF6? joey
Based on the player's approximate height and weight, I would suggest 30" in the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL). As for noticing a difference in the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL), it might be a small adjustment from his previous model, because it incorporates a different structure and material. Overall, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL) is probably a step up, and should be able to help boost player performance.
Merritt
Is this bat better than the Easton Mako? johnny
Both the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) and the 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB14MK) are both top of the line options and would compare very similarly. The preference between the two would come down to which brand you would prefer for the most part.
Patrick
Is this bat better then the Easton MAKO? johnny
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) and the Easton MAKO are very comparable bats. They are both two-piece fully composite bats with balanced swing weights.
Jason
My son has an Easton S1 and is 5'8", 145 lbs. He is looking for a bat that has similar swing speed, but a little more pop. He has been looking at the Voodoo and the CF6. Would either of these deliver what he is looking for? Jen
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL) would be a perfect fit for the characteristics he is looking for. This model is very similar to what he used previously, however, the Paradox Composite material that is incorporated in the CF6 will provide players with a lot great pop and performance. The D-Fusion Handle technology is also a great asset, that provides players with vibration reduction, and an extended sweet spot.
Merritt
You list this bat in the specs as a -11, then the length weight choices for purchase list this as a -11 as well. And yet, in the pictures of the bat, it clearly shows "-10" on the barrel of the bat. What is the actual drop on this bat? What are its "true" length and weight? NJ7
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) will be a -11. We will try to get an updated picture for the website. We have the 29", 30", 31", and 32" available currently.
Brandon
What size should I get, if I were 4'8", 70 pounds, and 10 years old? Rick_rick
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 29" 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa
What is the difference between the 2014 and 2015 CF6 and Vexxum models? Mark
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) and the 2015 CF7 are both two-piece fully composite bats with balanced swing weights. The change on the 2015 CF7 is the new D-Fusion FT handle, which maximizes energy transfer and eliminates the Vibration. The 2014 and 2015 Vexxum are both two-piece hybrids with balanced swing weights. The difference between the two models is the new X12 alloy that is used in the 2015 Vexxum.
Jason
What size CF6 should I get for my 9 year old who is 4'8 and 90 lbs? Joe K
I would suggest getting your son a 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) in a 30"/19 oz. model.
Ben
What size bat do you recommend for a 9 yr old 55 1/2 in tall and 75 lbs? He is a power hitter and would like to know if this would be a good bat for him. Kris
For the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL), our bat coach recommends a 29"18 ounce pattern. Typically, we recommend a slight end-load or a single-piece bat for more power oriented hitters, however this bat can definitely be used by both gap and power hitters alike.
Joe
Can my son, age 9, legally use this bat in a Cal Ripken league? Kris
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) would be legal for play for a 9 year old in a Cal Ripken League.
Kelby
Both DeMarini CF6 bats seem great! What advantages do 2 1/4 inch barrel bats have over 2 5/8 inch barrel bats? Rook
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) is a great bat. It really just depends on the age and size of the player. 2 1/4 inch barrel bats are typical among youth players and lighter and easier to swing. 2 5/8 inch barrel bats are typical among senior league players and heavier.
Allison
Currently my son 10 plays travel ball and uses a Combat Virus full composite bat. Some of the kids on his them has the CF6. He bats 2nd and has power to all fields. He likes this bat but vibrates on him. Would the CF6 or 7 be a better bat or something else. Thanks for the help Jack
The DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) and 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) are both great balanced bats. I would recommend checking out the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Youth Baseball Bat (DXVDL) as well because it is end loaded and has the D-Fusion handle to reduce vibrations throughout the barrel.
Allison
How does the CF6 feel compared to a CF5? My son's CF5 feels end-loaded. Is the CF6 the same or more balanced? Thanks CT
The DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) features a two-piece composite design with a very well balanced swing weight. The DeMarini CF5 LE Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL-LE) also features a balanced swing weight. The bats will be virtually identical in terms of swing weight.
Joe
The DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) features a two-piece composite design with a very well balanced swing weight. The DeMarini CF5 LE Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL-LE) also features a balanced swing weight. The bats will be virtually identical in terms of swing weight.
Joe
Can you get this bat in 2 3/4 or 2 5/8? If not, can you please recommend something similar? Really like the reviews on this one but want to stay with big barrel bat for now. frank ammo
DeMarini does produce the DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) in a senior league model. The model number for the DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat is (DXCFX). The DXCFX will feature a -10 drop with a 2 5/8" barrel.
John
Is this bat a drop 3 bat? If not, what is recommended for a DeMarini in a drop 3? pat
No, the DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) is not a -3 bat, it features a -11 drop weight. The BBCOR bat that features a -3 drop weight would be the DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC). You can find that model here: http://goo.gl/Nbn6QN.
Tessa
Just bought this bat for my son and wanted to take him to the batting cages to try it out. Can this bat be used with the dimpled balls? jose
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL), in commercial batting cages that use yellow "dimple" balls. These balls are more dense than the game balls that the bats are designed to hit. Also, many manufacturers list in their warranty details that hitting these balls will void your warranty against defects.

Is the Vexxum better than the CF6? Ball Crusher
The DeMarini CF6 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) features a two piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight. Additionally, it has the D-Fusion handle which does a nice job of eliminating most of the shock and vibration through the barrel of the bat. The DeMarini Vexxum Youth Baseball Bat (DXVXL) features a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The composite tends to have a little better performance over time than the alloy.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
