Pros: Outstanding aluminum bat. Bat gets checked every game because other team thinks its a composite. Everyone on the team is hitting it and it's holding up well. Cons:Sounds like a composite which adds to suspicion.

Is this the same bat as last year's L8? Has Easton made any modifications to it at all?

The 2014 Easton L8.0 (SP13L8 Slow Pitch) bat was released in 2013 by Easton. This was the first edition. The new L8.0 for 2015 will release soon coming at the end of April. They will feel very similar in swing weight and design.

What does the 8 stand for? I realize the L is for end loaded but I'm unsure as to what the number after the L represents?

The 2014 Easton L8.0: SP13L8 Slow Pitch has a specific end-load weight called out at the end of its 12 inch barrel: 26oz = 1oz load, 27oz = 2oz load, 28oz = 3oz load.

Will Easton be coming out with a new L8 in the next few months? I hear they release their new models in February.

Easton is scheduled to release the new 2014 Easton L8.0 (SP13L8) March 1st.

Product Description

New for 2014! There are 3 constants when it comes to slow pitch players and their bats. They want a bat that's hot out of the wrapper, they're always looking for the next best thing, and they prefer either a balanced or end-loaded design. Raw Power is Easton's answer. The Raw Power line features the B-Series that offers evenly balanced designs for controlled power, and the L-Series that offers end-loaded designs for absolute maximum power. Part of the L-Series, the L8.0 has a specific end-load weight called out at the end of its 12 inch barrel: 26oz = 1oz load, 27oz = 2oz load, 28oz = 3oz load. The L8.0 features Easton's unique multi-wall design. The inner core of the L8.0 is made from Easton's IMX Composite that provides phenomenal trampoline, while a THT100 Scandium Alloy outer shell provides serious durability and an optimized sweet spot. The handle is wrapped with an ultra-thin gauze grip that is perfect for players that like tack without the bulkiness of many modern grips. The time is now to bring Raw Power to YOUR game. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The L8.0 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty.
