Pros: My son plays 11u elite ball he is about 5'4" and weight 130lbs, I bought him the 32/23 Mako and he loves it. The first batting practice he used it he hit one off the fence and one over the fence. All the kids on the team were checking out the bat after practice. Cons:None yet, just used it for one practice so far.

Ask A Question

I am confused on why this bat isn't okay for Juniors Little League and why it would require a BBCOR rating? Isn't BBCOR for high school and college and the bats have a -3 weight ratio? Kids in this league are 13-14 and they aren't using that size yet. My son needs a 31" with a 2 5/8" barrel with a -9 ratio. What bat do you suggest?

Composite barrel bats have to be BBCOR certified according to Little League Rules. They do not have to use a BBCOR bat if it has an alloy barrel. Little League does not have a limit on the drop. Players can use any drop as long as it has an alloy barrel. However, if you are searching for a -9 bat, the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39) is a great option.

I'm looking for a bat for my son. He plays in a Georgia Dizzy Dean lean. All 1.15 bats are legal at his level and all barrel sizes are legal. He is 4.2 82lbs. He hits for power in our minor league field. Is this Mako the one I should be looking for or the junior version?

The Jr Big Barrell is for tee ball and coach pitch. I would recommend the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MK9) for your situation.

What is the difference between the MAKO that is a 2 3/4" Senior League bat and the 2 5/8" barrel bat?

The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MK9) and the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) both use the same composite materials. The barrel size and the drop are the only differences between the two bats.
