Pros: This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1. Cons:My whole team wants to use it.

Pros: The Mako feels more end loaded like the XL1. It virtually feels just like the XL1 but 1 ounce lighter. When my son hit both the Mako and XL1 on the sweet spot, the XL1 flew farther. My recommendation is that if you are strong enough to swing the XL1, get the XL1. If you need your bat a little lighter get the Mako or XL2 or XL3 to save some dough. If you need more swing speed, stick to the S Series. Cons:None. Great bat for the person that can't quite swing the XL1 but the S series is too light for.

My son is 8 years old, 4'4" , 117 lbs. What would be the best size for him? He is currently using an Easton Stealth sc900 carbon handle/alloy barrel 29"/16 oz.

I would recommend a 29" bat. The 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) would give him a large sweet spot to work with and would be a great fit.

Son is 12 years old , 4' 9" and 79 lbs. Currently, he has the S2 30" 17 oz. He is a contact hitter with little power. Will the additional 2 oz. hamper or help him? Can't seem to control big barrels, so 2 1/4" is better fit. He needs the biggest sweet spot they have.

The 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) sounds like it would be the best bat for you. The MAKO will have a full composite design, a larger sweet spot, and a more balanced swing. At his age, I would highly recommend going up the extra couple ounces.

How long does this bat take to be broken in? I already hit about 70-80 baseballs with it.

As you know with all composite barrel bats we recommend a break-in. A good break-in consists of 150-200 hits off a tee or soft toss, start at about 40% power and gradually increasing as you get closer to 150 swing mark. Rotate the bat a quarter of an inch between each hit to ensure an even break-in. You'll feel the pop once the bat is broken-in.
