Pros: First hit with the bat was to the fence. Missed being a home run by inches. My daughter had some great hits with this bat at the tourney. Can't wait until next time.

HOT BAT Proud Mom parent

Pros: My daughter just turned 12 weighing in at 98 lbs and is 5'6" .. tall skinny thing .. her first tourney with this bat she was ripping them to the outfield at almost every bat. One even hit about 6 inches below the top of the fence, almost her first over the fence homerun (playing up in 14u). She is very pleased with this bat, and so am I. It was worth the $350 to see her batting take off. I Highly recommend this bat.

Pros: Breath of fresh air after the disappointing experience with the FS1. First hit by my 15 yr old daughter (18U gold player)- line shot HR deep over left field fence! Pop like the old stealth! Extra base hits to all fields again.

HOT BAT!!!!! Coach L coach

Pros: Bought 30" drop 10 and my 7 yr old (4'4" 80 lbs) daughter took it out of the wrapper and her first hit traveled 150 ft.... She has been crushing the ball ever since. I can't wait until she finally breaks it in!!!! She plays on a 9U Travel Team and she lent it to the 11U Travel team, they were are crushing the ball. Very sweet Bat

Cons: Price is a bit steep, but well worth it. her 9U travel teammates try to use it but it is too heavy for them. The bat is white so it gets dirty quickly, but my daughter cleans it every night after she uses it...

Disappointed Softball Dad parent

Pros: Looks great. May be the right bat for some, but wasn't for us.

Cons: On our second FP14MK in four months. The first one developed significant cracking about half-way up the barrel after 3 months of mostly batting practice. I've read other reviews of cracking on the shell of Easton bats, but this was almost entirely around the barrel. Easton replaced it very quickly, which was great, but still just not what was expected or comforting. My daughter is 14 and a power hitter and has used end-loaded bats primarily in the past. While this bat is more balanced, we thought we would give it a try given the great reviews. It might be a great bat for some, but she hasn't been able to get the same power out of this bat as she has with her old Stealth and she gets a lot more vibration in the handle than with the Stealth. Given the price, the need to replace so quickly and decrease in power she's seen with this bat, it's not for us.

Pros: This bat is the best bat I have ever used. It has way more pop than my previous Cf5 bat and is way more durable. I wanted to try something new since I usually go for the demarini bats. So glad I did! I highly recommend this bat to anyone looking for a great quality bat. It is very similar to the stealth bat also. Definitely the best bat out on the market as of now!!!!!

Pros: Good pop and feel.

Cons: Two bats cracked within 3 months. Easton suggested we "try a bigger bat. Maybe she hits the ball too hard." !!! Player is well within the charts for her size bat. New product is popular, expensive, and perhaps not durable. Waiting for the third bat to be replaced-- hope Easton does not balk.

Pros: This bat needs no break-in time. It's hot right out of the wrapper. It has a larger sweet spot for pitches of ALL angles! We LOVE our Mako! My 42 hit .700 in the Fall and had 22.34% of the teams runs. She's 5'8...2nd year 12U and swings a 34/24 like it's a 30/20.

Pros: Let me say this, my daughter uses an end loaded bat but we picked this up to see if she would like it. With that said: this bat does have alot of pop to it. Ball seems to excellerate of the barrell. It seems like a very good bat...

Cons: If you/ your daughter like an end loaded bat this may not be the bat for you. She tried several different times to 'like' this bat, but she said that it was just didnt feel right for her.

Pros: Great looking bat, Daughter has been working with it since Christmas. Hit some solid shots in her first two tournaments.

Cons: We have broke the bat it properly and we cant see the extra pop that people have raved about. 2012 and 13 Xeno was hotter out of the wrapper and we have tested the LXT. The LXT is hot but cant see any difference between it and the Xeno. We Just bought a CF6 insane and it out performed the Mako on the first day. Mako is not a bad bat if you got nothing to compare it to, but the Xeno, LXT or CF6 are in my opinion the better bat.

Pros: My daughter liked the bat. It has a lot of pop out of the wrapper. The bat would be a 5 star if not for the following issue.

Cons: She had the bat for 3 months but only used it at three indoor practices and two outdoor games (all above 60°F). After hitting a bomb over center field on 5/8/2014 she noticed a crack in the bat. We contacted Easton to begin the replacement process. We were told it would take two weeks. This is not good with tournament season upon us.

Good bat kenzie player

Pros: I have had this bat for about 6 months now. Although I was hurt for 2 of those months with a high ankle sprain this bat has still improved my batting average. I love the looks of it. I have never once felt a stinging hand from hitting the ball off the barrel. I have had Easton for about 4 years now and I love them. This bat has gotten be tons of triples and doubles. When I hit the ball it's hard solid contact. I would recommend this bat for contact hitters.

Cons: I seem to be one of the only girls on my team that enjoys this bat. (out of 6) The others like their LXT's or CF6's. The barrel chips way too easily.

Best Bat I Have Ever Swung Sarah24 player

Pros: I am a 15 year old tournament player.I am also a switch hitter and usually hit line drives from the right side. This bat has given me more power than any other bat I have used. This bat is by far the best bat I have ever swung. It has amazing pop and you barely have to swing and the ball goes flying. I also think that it has the best power out of the box. Many people say that their mako has cracked or broken but mine never has. I recommended thus bat to anyone looking for a fast swing speed but also amazing power.

I got LUCKY!!!!! CJ parent

Pros: Nothing good to say about this bat...

Cons: Went through 3 bats for the same issue, you got it, the barrel cracked! It's funny that when I called Easton's warranty department they never had a complaint about the cracking, but yet they were quick about replacing the bat. I tried to get my money back but was unable to because the bat comes back from warranty with a "NOT FOR RESALE" etched. But the third bat I got back did not have the etching on it, went back to Dick's (where I purchased it) and they were able to refund my money back and I bought my daughter the CF-7 which is an amazing bat. During tournament season this the last you want to worry about. Stay away from this bat...

A good fit 31/21 Rob FL coach

Pros: A lot of pop once broken in. Balanced but not quite as balanced as the Xeno...not a bad thing but takes some time for some to adjust. Not as much noise as the Xeno...not a bad thing either watching the ball travel farther. No regrets purchasing this over the Xeno. I think the price difference weighs in a lot with many. Waiting to try the Mako Tora before I buy to be sure the swivel handle isn't a bust. $350 for the Mako was alot to pay but $450 for the Mako Tora is too much to pay to be a guinea pig.

on third replacement mom parent

Pros: Great Bat for home runs, ball flies off the bat. That is why we have stuck with it

Cons: we purchased one used it a couple of times before the end of season. After a few practices it cracked. very visible crack. Sent it back got a replacement right away. Season ended then took it out when practice for this season started. Again cracked this time worse, extremely visible. Being it was the second bat I was very very concerned because now it was softball season again. Received the "third" bat from Easton. Have now used it the season. We clean it after each use and have found not cracks...knock on wood. Very disappointed with the cracking but they did replace it immediately. This bat however when it is placed in a bag and pushed down into their bags, the orange paint at the end chips off freely. It also has many paint chips throughout the bat showing. you can easily tell the difference between paint chipping and a crack. the cracks looked like a feathered crack on a windshield. The two bats cracked 3 inches lengthwise never width wise. Just be very observant of the bat

Great Bat RedHack parent

Pros: Took 14 yo DD a month to finally give up the old 12 Zeno and use this bat. First game out a double and triple, next night a HR, first in her career., followed by a double. It has the POP and a nice sweet spot. HR was a line drive without a full swing. Even chasing poor pitches she has sent several to the grass. This is now DD's favorite bat over both Zeno's, which severed her well in the past. Great bat for a balanced hitter.

Cons: Hitting on the end will cause some discomfort. Price high. No idea on durability yet.

MAKO BAT! madison player

Pros: The MAKO is the best bat in the whole entire collection of bats! I got this bat from my dad, he bought it for me because he wants my swing to get better so with a better bat that can increase skill. The Mako and i have a special connection, i tell the ball where to go before i get in my stance to bat and then right as the ball comes i say " Be a home run hitter" Every time I go to hitting practice my coach notices that my swing is getting better, not even that it's that the bat is sending the ball farther and it makes me swing a lot faster cause its like and i use my hips and feet and push off to get the full power affect. I love this bat i will be really sad when this bat is done and used up because then i have to pay for the next one and I'm only 13 so thats going to take a while to save up especially because i like to shop and mostly spend it on makeup and clothes so i need to stop the spending habits and start a new habit! I definitely recommend this bad so go buy you a MAKO!

Cons: It gets real dirty easy so you have to wash/clean it, so look up ways to clean it before you do it your self cause you could ruin the bat.

Cons: 3 out of the 4 bats that our girls have bought have cracked. The have played a full season, and Easton has replaced (or is in the process of replacing) all of the bats. I wanted to see if this was a problem with the bat, but there has not been any type of announcement about a flaw in the bat. Seems like a few other people have had the same issue.

Buy one! Avery B player

Pros: This bat is just what I was looking for. I am a 15 year old Rep A player who has recently attended a softball trip in which college recruits showed interest this bat hit me 2 HR and a bunch of doubles and triples hot right out of the box this bat is amazing!

Cons: paint chips easily, get dirty easily, if you cant swing a heavy bat, dont buy this due to the way its balanced it has the facade of a heavy bat (aka: if you dont have bery fast bat speed, dont get this bat!)

Mako Joe parent

Pros: My daughter is 11, 5ft-1in, and about 100lbs. She was always a contact hitter. When she started using this bat she became a contact/power hitter. I never bought into the idea that a bat makes a big difference. I do now. She is crushing the ball and most importantly her confidence at bat is at an all time high. She and I highly recommend this bat.

Cons: Just cost

Which of the 2013 bats is this going to replace, the FS1, or the FX1? Chris
The 2014 Easton Mako: FP14MK Fastpitch is a combination of the FS1 and the FX1. It is a balanced bat like the Easton FS1 but has an extended barrel like the Easton FX1.

Aubrey
How does the Mako compare to the Stealth? Big B
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch bat has a very balanced swing weight, like older Stealth models. But the new TCT composite allows the MAKO to have an extended barrel and retain its balanced feel. This MAKO has the same performance certifications as other fastpitch models, so it really depends on the player's preference to swing weight whether they will use it efficiently.
Mac
How long does it take to break-in? carol lane
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch bat will require a short period of break-in. 150-200 hits doing soft toss or tee work before using live in game action.
Brandon
Does this bat require a break-in period? Will Easton have a 2014 Synergy? J.
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO will require a break-in period as it is a composite bat.The 2014 FS3 will be comparable to past Synergy models.
Justin R.
Why is this bat more expensive than the other 2014 bats? Taylor
This bat features Easton's newest, highest performing composite materials.
Justin R.
How does the Mako compare to last years FS2? Will there be a new FS2? Dane
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is going to be balanced just like the Easton FS2 was last year, but it is going to have the extended sweet spot of the Easton FX2. Yes, there will be a 2014 Easton FS2.
Noah
My daughter plays college softball. Will this bat meet the NCAA exit requirements for clearance in college play? Steve
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is legal in NCCA.
Kara
What are the low temperature limits on this bat? Paula
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch, in temperatures below 60°F (16°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
Is this a two piece composite model? If so, what is the 2014 one piece model number? Kymers
Yes, the ***PREBOOK*** 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch bat is a two-piece fully composite design. The Easton FS2: FP14S2 is a one-piece composite design with a balanced swing weight.
Aubrey
I am looking for a bat that has the same pop or better than the Stealth. The FS1 didn't come close. Charle
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch uses new composite material that provides outstanding durability and performance. The new material also provides a very balanced bat. The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch also features an extended barrel similar to the 2013 Easton FX1.
Kara
This bat looks like the Stealth. Is this the remake of the Stealth? sleepy
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is very similar to the Stealth models in that it is a balanced, two-piece composite from Easton. However, the new TCT composite material used in the MAKO allows the bat to have a larger sweet spot while still being very balanced.
Mac
Is this bat in stores yet? 303 Ball
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch bat has already been released.
Brandon
How does the 2014 Mako compare to the 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT? MAD17
Both the 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT and the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch bats will be super balanced. The Mako will be a two-piece fully composite design. While the LXT will be a new three-piece design. Both are top of the line bats from their respected manufacturers.
Brandon
What is the diffrence between the 2014 MAKO fastpitch bat and the upcoming 2014 FS1? bailey d
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch uses new TCT Thermo Composite. The new material allows for a very balanced bat, with an extended barrel.
Kara
I love the Synergy bats. Is the 2014 Easton MAKO the most similar? Or would you suggest the 2013 FS3? Dpalmisano
Most of the Stealth models would be pretty similar to a MAKO Fastpitch model (although the MAKOs have a newer design than other bats with the extended barrel with a balanced swing weight). They had balanced swing weights and two-piece composite designs. However, most of the Synergy models from Easton were balanced, one-piece composite models. The FS3 would be most similar to those Synergy models.
Mac
My daughter is exiting high school and now will be playing at the college level. At 5'2" she has been using a 32" bat, should she go to a 33" bat in college because she will be asked to slap and bunt more? Her college coach told her that the 32" is too small. Gresto
The correct size bat is best determined by the height and weight of the player. Check out our bat coach to determine the correct size 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch for your daughter. Here is the link to our bat coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Kara
Is the MAKO the closest match to the Stealth 33" 23 oz. out there? Need new bat this season, and confused between the MAKO and the Brigade FS2? It sounds like the MAKO but cant really tell the difference between the MAKO and the FS2 2014 model. fastpitch
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is similar to the Easton Stealth. The major difference is the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK has an extended barrel and used newer composite material. It is a two-piece bat like the Easton Stealth. The Easton FS2 is a one-piece composite bat. It is similar to the old Easton Synergy.
Kara
Do you need to break in the new Easton Mako bat? baseball1031
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch would benefit from a break-in period prior to game use. Some reviews may indicate good performance out of the wrapper, but without a separation barrier in the bat, you may run into early damage if you take this bat right to game speed pitching.
Mac
Is this going to be available in a drop 9? megaroni
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch will only be available in a drop 10. The 2014 Easton FX1 and FX2 will be available in the drop 9.
John H
My daughter loves her Synergy bat, and is looking at adding another. Would the MAKO make her happy? audrey
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO features Easton's newest and highest performing composite materials. Your daughter would love Easton's latest model.
Justin R.
How does it compare to your Stealth, which my daughter loves? jdelion
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is going to be better than the Easton Stealth in the past, but it will feel very similar.
Noah
What is the best way to break in my new MAKO bat? Vickie
To break-in your 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch, we recommend taking 100-200 swings off a tee or soft toss. Rotate the barrel about 1/4" every swing. Make sure to avoid using a composite bat in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls.
Kara
I absolutely love my 2012 Stealth, and I am looking for a similar bat. Is this what I am looking for? Megan
The FS1 from Easton is going to be the bat that has the most similar design to the older Stealth models. But the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch would be very comparable, as well. The MAKO has a lighter feel and also a larger sweet spot with the extended barrel. If you liked the Stealth models, either the FS1 or MAKO would be a great replacement.
Mac
Why do you recommend not to use this bat in cages with the dimpled balls? Tom
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch, and any other bat, will have a shortened lifespan if used with dimple cage balls, as they are more dense and heavier than real leather softballs.
Katie
Is the MAKO end loaded? tvickery1
No, the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is one of the most balanced models on the market.
John H
Would this bat be good for non-power slap hitters? is there much handle flex? sluggergirl
The two-piece design of the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch provides handle flex. The one-piece design of the 2014 Easton FS2: FP14S2 Fastpitch would provide less flex. Both are balanced bats, great for a non-power hitter.
Kara
What is the difference between the Easton MAKO and the Easton Alpha? kgooden
The Easton Mako is a two-piece composite bat, whereas the Easton Alpha is a one-piece alloy.
Damon
My daughter is 5'5'' and weighs about 140. She is experienced, but I don't know what her bat speed is. What size bat would you recommend? Mike
Based on your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch in a 33''.
Tori
Would this bat be good for a power hitter? Power Hitter
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is extremely well-balanced, which makes it a great fit for contact hitters or players looking to increase bat speed. It would certainly work for a power hitter, but typically power hitters prefer a more end loaded option, such as the 2014 Easton FX1: FP14X1 Fastpitch.
Katie
What will happen to my MAKO fastpitch softball bat if I use it in 59 degree to 50 degree weather ? rob
In colder temperatures, the baseball itself becomes more dense. This could cause the composite on the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch to crack.
Tori
I purchased this bat but then see that in the NFHS Softball Rulebook, a "choke up" device is illegal. Is the band located in the center a choke up device? Veronica68
The gray band on the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch is not a choke up device. It is used to cover up the connection between the handle and the barrel.
Kara
What is the difference between this model and the YB14MK? brent hood
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is the Fastpitch softball model and the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) is the Youth Little League model.
John H
Is this bat eligible for NCAA Division III softball? amcat
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) will be legal for play in NCAA Division III softball.
Tessa L.
My daughter is 10 years old, 5 ft 110 lbs. What length and weight do yo recommend? She uses a 31 in 19 oz now, but says she could go heavier, and I am worried about hurting her speed. Joey
Based on her height and weight, we suggest a 31" 21 oz model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch.
Jason
Daughter is 5'11" 160 lbs. What size would I get for her? MONTE1970
In the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch bat a 34" length would be best recommended.
Brandon
My daughter is 9 years old and 4'11" tall. What size would be good for her? Bat
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is by their height and weight, but typically a 9 year old swings a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch. For more sizing information check out our bat coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
Is the 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MK) Fastpitch bat good for power hitters? bandit
The 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MK) Fastpitch bat would be a great option for a power hitter who likes a balanced bat. Power hitters can really use whatever design they're comfortable using. If a power hitter can swing an end loaded model like the Easton FX1 (FP14X1) quickly, they may see a bit better performance.
Mac
My daughter is 5'7" & 120 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? Jeff
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 33" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch.
Jason
My daughter is 5'9" and 135 pounds. What size and weight of bat should i look at getting? pg
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 33" 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa L.

No, the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK F) was only manufactured with these colors.
Tori
My daughter is 4'10" 75 lbs and 11 years old playing travel ball. Would the 31" 21 oz MAKO (FP14MK) be proper size to use? She has tremendous bat speed coming from a 29" 18 oz. Hollywood
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 31" 21 oz model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch. The transition will be minimal for a player with great bat speed.
Jason
My daughter currently uses a stealth FP11ST10 33" in college. Her coach wants her to go up to a 34". She loves her current stealth. Which bat is most similar to the purple and white Connexion technology bat she currently has? She hits for power and prefers an evenly weighted bat. Barry
The Easton Stealth FP11ST10 was replaced by the 2014 Easton FS1 (FP14S1) Fastpitch. The Easton MAKO (FP14MK) will also be very similar and evenly weighted like the FS1.
Damon
Does this bat come in a 32 inch 20ounce model Eddie
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch only comes in a -10.
Aaron
My granddaughter is a senior in high school and going to college to play ball. She is approximately 5'8" and 170 pounds. She is a power hitter. Is a 33/23 the right size? Or would a 34/24 be better? John
Based on the players height and weight; we would suggest a 34 inch bat. However, if she is more comfortable swinging the lighter 33 inch, that would also be a viable option as long as she is getting good plate coverage.
Patrick
My daughter is a 13 year old and is about 150 pounds. What size bat would you recommend for her to use on her 14u travel team? kim
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is on their height and weight, but we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch. For more sizing information please visit our bat coach http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
My daughter is 5'5" and 150 lbs. She is 13 and we need help on finding a good size. What would you recommend? kim

Jason
My daughter is 15 and wants the Easton MAKO for girl's fastpitch. Do they make it in -9? Janet
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is only available in a -10.
Kara
My daughter is 10 years old. She weighs around 70 pounds and is about 4 1/2 feet tall. We bought the XENO about 4 months ago, which apparently cracked internally. She is a fantastic hitter. Which MAKO is the best for her? charlie mike
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch.
Jason
My daughter is 12 years old. She is 5' 7" and 148 lbs. What size do you recommend? She is going to be playing in a new league for her this year where she will be facing faster and better pitchers then in the past. She's been using a 31" 20 oz. She has good power in her swing. Jason
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK Fastpitch) would be a great selection for her age and size. It will be very balanced and have a light weight feel to the swing weight. Also, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFS Fastpitch) would be a great option for her.
Brandon
Can it be used in batting cages mike
I would not recommend that you use your 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch in the batting cages.
Jackson
What would be the best way to break in the bat? me
A good way to break in the composite 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch bat is to hit off a tee or soft toss approximately 100-200 swings, rotating the barrel ¼ inch every swing.
Patrick
Is this bat approved by the ASA? Ramon
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is approved by the ASA.
Jackson
My daughter uses the 2013 Xeno 31/21, but her coach feels it is slightly end loaded. So we need a more evenly weighted bat for a quicker swing. (12 yrs old, 95 lbs) Would you recommend the Mako? Travel Mom
The 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MK) is extremely balanced. Having the weight evenly distributed throughout the barrel will make it very easy to generate some good bat speed. The Easton MAKO is high quality, and would be a great bat to choose if you are looking for something with great balance. It will be a two-piece full composite and will have very little vibration in the handle. The sweet-spot on the 2014 Easton MAKO is also an added bonus.
Merritt
Does it come in another color? desiree
No, the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch will not come in any other colors.
Brandon
How does the MAKO compare to the new Xeno? Jason
The 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MK) and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Xeno: (FPXN14-R9) will both have a two-piece composite design and will be balanced. The 2014 MAKO will use technology that will create a bigger sweet spot, and will help increase bat speed. The 2014 Xeno's grip technology will help reduce vibrations extremely well. Construction wise, these bats will be very similar. The biggest difference will come down to minor details in the technology used.
Merritt
My daughter has a 30" 19oz Demarini CF6 that she cracked a few days ago. Don't know if it is too small for her size, what size Mako should we purchase? She is 4'11" and weighs 95 lbs. doubled
Our bat coach recommends a 31" 21 oz 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) based on your daughter's height and weight.
Bobby
Do you make a 33" 21 oz model in this bat? Raul
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch only comes in a -10 length to weight ratio.
Jason
I don't know what bat to get for my daughter who is 5'4" 158 lbs. She is currently using a lighter (-12.5) 32 inch bat but needs a power hitting bat. I'm interested in possibly Easton MAKO but what size would you suggest? We considered a Xeno bat as well but the difference in weight of bat is an another concern. I not only have to her a power hitting bat but one she be comfortable with the difference in weight of bat. cluelessmommy
We recommend a 32" 22 oz. bat. Both the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Xeno (FPXN14-RR) are both -10 bats. They are both very balanced bats. The increase in weight should not be an issue if she is a stronger hitter.
Kara
Our daughter is 5'4", 125 lbs with 30.5 center to end measure. I'm not sure if this bat is right. She is a contact hitter, and a bunter. Do you have any suggestions? Shammy
Based on her playing style, I would recommend looking for a two-piece composite design and not a one-piece alloy. The two-piece construction will feel a little bit stiffer, and is typically preferred by contact/gap hitters. The 2014 DeMarini CF6: (DXCFS) would be a really great fit for her game. It is going to be very light weight, balanced, and will also incorporate a paradox composite material to create a bigger sweet spot. I think this would be a really great option to check out.
Merritt
What is the difference between the Mako and the Demarini CF6 Hope? Is there a better choice? Cutch22
The Easton Mako (FP14MK) and the DeMarini CF6 Hope (DXCFH) both will be two-piece composite and feature the same length to weight ratio (drop). The difference between the two will be in composite material the Easton Mako (FP14MK) has TCT Thermo Composite for Massive sweet spot and the DeMarini CF6 Hope (DXCFH) has Paradox Composite. They both have a big sweet spot and balanced design and are really nice choices.
Zach
My daughter currently uses the CF5 Insane, end loaded bat (33" 23 oz). She is a power hitter and has been very successful with her bat. How would the MAKO compare to the Insane loaded bat? What size would you recommend? Cayleesmom
The 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK is a balanced, two-piece composite bat. It is designed for a contact hitter. The 2014 DeMarini CF6 Insane ( DXCFI) is designed for a power hitter. The correct size of the bat is best determined by a player's height and weight. Check out our bat coach for correct sizing: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Kara
My daughter is 13 years old, 5'2" and about 150 lbs. She currently uses a Worth -10, 31" bat. She is a power hitter with quick hands. We are looking for a bat that will help maximize her potential. What do you suggest? jlewis
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is a balanced, two-piece bat. It is designed for a contact hitter that needs to increase their bat speed. We recommend an end loaded bat such as the 2014 Easton FX1 (FP14X1) for a power hitter.
Kara
Is the 2014 Easton Mako good for big hitters that mostly hit to the outfield? Bcasper
The stabilized feel of the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) makes it a great option for all hitters. It possesses an extremely balanced touch, making it one of the best to reach all areas of the field.
Gary T.
Can it be rolled? Jjj
We do not recommend the process of rolling composite barrel bats. If can damage the composite material and make it unsafe for use. Furthermore, if the bat is found to have been rolled it can void the warranty and can make the bat illegal for play. Traditional break-in methods are generally the best way to get a good, even break-in while not damaging the bat.
Patrick
My daughter is 5' tall and is around a 102 lbs. Do you think the 31" 21oz 2014 Easton Mako bat will be to big for her? Leah
With the size and weight you have given us we recommend that the 31 inch 21 ounce would fit her prefect.
Kyle
I'm a contact hitter but I am very strong. I usually hit the mid outfit gaps, but am renown for whacking a couple straight to the fence. I lay down good bunts and occasionally slap. I'm 5'2,126 lb.s & currently swing a 33" 22 oz Easton. Question is: Is the MAKO the right choice for me? My dad wants me to get the 33" 23 oz. in the MAKO but I'm worried about my bat speed which isn't the fastest. He says I'll grow into it but i want the 32" 22 oz. What do you think? gabby
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 32" 22 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK). The MAKO is a very balanced two-piece bat and is designed for a contact hitter than needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
I am 16 years old and play on High School Varsity. I am 5'5" and 134 lb line drive hitter. I have tried the 2014 Louisville Slugger Xeno in 33/23 and it seemed very end loaded and heavy compared to other 33/23 bats on my team even though it shouldn't be and I don't seem to work well with it. What length:weight would you recommend for me in the Easton MAKO? I feel like this bat might be the one for me. LeftFielder11
The Easton MAKO will have a balance swing weight and would work out great for you. Based on the information you gave I recommend a 33" 23 oz. in the Easton MAKO (FP14MK).
Zach
My daughter swings a 2013 CF5 30/29. She has grown a lot in the past year and is now 4''11 and 96 pounds, 11 years old. She is a power hitter and we have been super pleased with her current bat. Do you think she now needs a 31 inch? Everyone around is talking about the Mako, but just aren't sure if we should stick with her current bat or get a longer one. Thoughts? Softball parent
Based on the information you provided, I would recommend a 31" length. She could go with a 2014 Easton Mako (FP14MK Fastpitch) in a 31" 20 oz.
Zach
My daughter is 14 and is 5 ft 1 inches tall and weighs 102. Although petite has rare power. What bat would you recommend? Boo
With the measurements you gave me, we would recommend using a 29 inch bat you can always go to a 30 inch bat because she will grow. The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) could be an option so could the Worth Legit (FPLG11). The Worth Legit (FPLG11) will be an ounce lighter than the Mako (FP14MK).
Kyle
We are interested in the MAKO but we are concerned the bat may be too large. She is 10 and weights around 97 pounds and is 5'. softballmomof4
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is a very balanced, two-piece composite bat. The lightweight design is ideal for a young player.
Kara

Based on her approximate height and weight the size we would suggest would be 32 inches. However, if you wanted her to be able to use the 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MK) a little bit longer, I would suggest moving up to 33 inches.
Merritt
How long does it take to break it in? Colby
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is mostly game ready. However, we recommend a break-in period of 150-200 swings.
Justin R.
What weights does the MAKO FP14MK 33" come in? Maria
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch has a -10 length to weight ratio and the 33" is only available in a 23 oz.
Jason
What size and weight would you recommend for a 14 year old that's 5'7"-5'8" and about 170 lbs? ann
Based on the player's approximate height and weight, the suggested size we would recommend would be 34 inches in the 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MK). However, we are currently sold out of this size at the moment.
Merritt
My daughter plays 14u. She is 5'7" and approximately 125 lbs. What size MAKO should I order her? clueless mom
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch.
Jason
Daughter is a slapper, at 4'11" weighing about 110 lbs. currently swinging a Xeno 33-23 bat. Is this too long for her? What bat size should she be using? Conrad
I think that bat may be a bit long for your daughter. I would recommend a 31"/21 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) based on her height and weight.
Bobby
My daughter is 4'8" and weighs 75 lbs. Is the 30" 20 oz going to be to heavy? eddie
Based on her height and weight, the 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch is the ideal size. The 20 oz model will not be too heavy for a player her size.
Jason
My daughter is 5'4" and her weight is 150 lbs. What size bat do you recommend for her? nicole
Based on her approximate height and weight I would probably recommend a 32/21. However, the largest size we have available in the 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MKY) is a 29/18.
Merritt
How do you recommend to break in an Easton Mako bat without damaging it? court
We recommend breaking in the Easton MAKO (FP14MK) by taking about 200 swings using a tee or soft toss.
Bobby
My daughter is approx. 5'4 and 90 lbs. She is 13 and doesn't have lots of power but has a very quick, level swing. What bat size would you recommend for her? Mindy
We would recommend a 32" for her height and weight for the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK).
John
Does the (FP14MK) come in lighter weights? Softball noob
The lightest weight this 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) Fastpitch bat is produced in would be the 30" 20 oz. size.
Mac
My daughter is 13, a contact hitter most every time at the plate. She is interested in the MAKO FP14MK, why has it been discontinued? Is the bat no longer legal? Bulldogs13
The 2014 Easton MAKO would be a very good option for a contact hitter because of its balanced feel. The bat has been discontinued because the newer models are coming out in the fall we are not getting any more of this model in.
Cooper
Why was this bat discontinued? eastonmakowasmyfavoritebat
The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK Fastpitch) was discontinued because the 2015 Easton models will be coming out on September 1st.
Cooper
What's the difference between the Easton MAKO and the Easton FX1 line of bats? Mitch
The only difference between the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK Fastpitch) and the 2014 Easton FX1 (FP14X1 Fastpitch) is that the MAKO is going to be a balanced bat whereas the FX1 is going to be an end-loaded bat.
Cooper
My daughter is 5', 100 lbs. What size bat should I go with? Joey
Based on the approximate height and weight of the player, I would suggest 31" in the 2014 Easton MAKO: (FP14MK).
Merritt
Do you recommend going to batting cages with this bat? courtney
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK), in commercial batting cages that use yellow "dimple" balls. These balls are more dense than the game balls that the bats are designed to hit. Also, many manufacturers list in their warranty details that hitting these balls will void your warranty against defects. If the batting cage uses regulation game balls, that would be a better option. But limiting the use of your bat to games will ensure you get the longest life out of it.
Mac
Do you recommend going to batting cages with this bat? courtney
No, we do not recommend using the 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) in the batting cages with those yellow dimpled balls. Those balls are a lot more dense and will increase the chances of that bat breaking
Cooper
Do you need to break-in the MAKO? People say it breaks if over used, but others say that it needs to be broken in. Al
The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK), like all composite bats, benefits from a break-in period. You will see an increase in performance if the bat is properly broken in.
Jason
My daughter is 13 years old, 5'7 and 185 lbs. She is currently swinging a 32" 20. What size do you recommend for her? Softballmom
Based on your daughters height and weight, I would advise using the 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) in a 33" 23 oz.
Sean
Is the MAKO available in -10 or -11? Humbellinni
The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is currently produced in the -10 length to weight ratio only. It would be offered in a 32" 22 oz. size.
Mac
My daughter is 5'5" & weighs 145 lbs., what size bat do you suggest? Also, Rocketech or mako? She is playing 14u fastpitch. Shain
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 33" 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK). Both the MAKO and the Rocketech are high performance models from their respective manufacturers. There are also key differences between the two, which may better suit your daughter's preferences. Both models feature a balanced swing weight, however, the MAKO features a two-piece fully composite design, whereas the Rocketech features a one-piece alloy design. The MAKO will require a break in period before it will see its best performances. The Rocketech will be good to go right out of the wrapper. Both models are great options, it just depends on her personal preferences.
Tessa
My daughter is both a contact and power hitter. She is currently playing on a 14u team. What bat should I get her: a MAKO, FX1, or a FS1? Jawuana Ray
The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK), the FX1 and the FS1 are all high performance, top of the line models from Easton. If she is both a power hitter and a contact hitter, the MAKO may be the best choice for her. The MAKO features a balanced swing weight (seen in the FS1) as well as an extended barrel design (seen in the FX1), so it is the best of both worlds for contact and power hitting.
Tessa
My daughter has hit well and has great bat speed with a Demarini CF6 30 inch 19 ounce. We are looking at a 2014 Mako 30 inch 20 ounce. What are the pros and cons? Jonc
The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFS) are similar in terms of style. If she gets good bat speed with the CF6 in that size, going an ounce heavier in the MAKO may be a simple adjustment and could lead to more power due to the added mass of the bat. However, if it is too heavy and she loses bat speed, it would not be a beneficial change.
Patrick
Is the 2015 MAKO better than the 2014 model? chris
The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) and the 2015 MAKO are almost identical bats. The only difference is the cosmetic look. The -10 models feature a balanced swing weight and TCT Thermo composite.
Jason
What does it mean when it says -10? Is that good or bad? justsoftball
The drop size, -10, is the difference between the length and the weight of the bat. An example would be a bat that is 30" and 20 oz. is a -10.
Brandon
Do you make a 2014 MAKO in the 30" 20 oz. size? Mack
Easton did produce a 30" 20 oz. model of the 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK), but we no longer have it in stock. We do have the 2015 model available in that size: http://goo.gl/doJYI7.
Mac
When you buy a bat and it says -10, what does that mean? Is that good or bad? Whats the best number you can get? justsoftball
The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is a -10 bat. The -10 refers to length to weight ratio on the bat. For example: if a bat is 32" long and is a -10, it will weigh 22 oz. The -10 is simply the difference between the length and weight. This number has no relation to performance of the bat.
Jason
What is the average lifetime of this bat? Some get better with age or use, is that also true of this bat? Sotballmom
There is no set lifespan or number of hits that the 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is made to take. There are too many variables in the way the bat can be used and the amount it can be used as well. The composite material it is made with will get hotter over time as it is used until it has issues with durability toward the end of the bats life.
Patrick
Which website can you get this bat for $200 dollars? heyyy
We are not sure which website you are referring to. We apologize for the lack of information. The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is $329.99 currently on justbats.com. http://www.justbats.com/product/2014-easton-mako-fastpitch-softball-bat--fp14mk/18473/?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=was&pa_medium=badges&pa_content=2014-easton-mako-fastpitch-softball-bat--fp14mk
Brandon
My daughter is 13 years old, 5 feet 2 inches and 105 pounds and is playing 14U travel softball. What size Mako would you recommend for her? Koz
For the 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) our bat coach recommends a 32"22oz. bat.
Joe
Is the Mako a good bat for a power hitter? chelsea
The 2014 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is an excellent option for just about any style hitter. It combines the balanced swing weight of the S series for contact hitters while offering the extended barrel on the XL series for power hitters.
Jake
My daughter is 15 years old and is 124 lbs. She is playing varsity softball. What size bat would you recommend? Cal
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is by their height and weight. However, a 15 year old is typically swinging a 32" model in the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK). For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
What is the difference between the MAKO and the FS3 ZERO bat? My daughter is 16 years old and a power hitter. She is 5'11" and 185 lbs. What bat do you recommend? Lynn
The Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is made out of Easton's top of the line TCT Thermo composite and features a -10 length to weight ratio. The FS3 ZERO is made out of IMX composite and features a -12 length to weight ratio. Typically, the FS3 ZERO is best for players that need help with their bat speed. The MAKO will be the better option for your power hitting daughter. The heavier weight will help her generate more power.
Jason
Is the 2015 MAKO legal for high school and travel softball (Fastpitch)? rachel
Yes, the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is certified for high school and travel ball. It is very high performing and made of 100% composite materials. It is also very balanced in swing weight.
Brandon
Is the MAKO BBCOR certified? eddy
The Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is the fastpitch softball model and will not be BBCOR certified. The BBCOR model is the 2015 Easton MAKO (BB15MK).
John H
How do you keep a Mako warm during a cold weather game? Or is it necessary? Steve
Some people say that you can use a "bat sleeve" for the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) to keep it warm. We still do not recommend using the bat in weather below 55 degrees because it is more the ball that has the issue rather than the bat. Below that temperature the ball will condense and become harder which causes damage to the bat.
Patrick
I bought the bat but when we got home and she hit a few balls it busted. It is broken now. What do I do? mad parent
If the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) was purchased in new condition from an authorized retailer, it would be covered under a 12 month warranty. You would need your receipt handy and you would want to contact Easton's warranty line at 888-259-1297. They should be able to talk you through the process to get it replaced with a new one.
Patrick
My kid strikes out too much. This bat looks like it might intimidate opposing pitchers and get the fielder's to play to far back for how hard she can hit if she happens to make contact. I just cannot justify spending this kind of money on a kid. What other options would you recommend to put fear into other teams at a more affordable price? Sad Dad
While the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is a great option, we have a great selection of items in many different price range. A lower priced model that would be a good option around the same specifications would be the 2016 Miken Freak Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPFK10).
Patrick
My daughter is 10 years old and 5 foot 4 and weighs 170 pounds. She is a power hitter. What bat size and drop do you recommend? coach
Based on height and weight, we would suggest a 33 inch size. The -10 length to weight ratio like what is featured on the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) would probably be a good fit for her size but you may be able to use a -11 if you want to keep it a bit lighter.
Patrick
What is the diffrence between the 2015 Easton fastpitch softball bat MAKO, MAKO TORQ and FS1? bat man
All three models are very similar. The FS1 features a balanced swing weight and a two-piece fully composite design. The Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) is a combination of the FS1 and the FX1 bat (which is an end loaded model), since it features the balanced swing weight of the FS1 and an extended barrel of the FX1. This means that the MAKO will feature a larger sweet spot than the FS1. The MAKO TORQ features the exact same design as the MAKO, but it features a rotating handle. This rotating handle helps to get your hands into ideal position while getting in the zone faster and staying in the zone longer. It also helps to prevent wrist rollover.
Tessa
My bat has a couple little holes in the barrel where you can see grey stuff. Will the warranty cover it? Erik
It sounds like some of the paint has worn or chipped away revealing the color of the composite material below it. Manufacturers' warranties typically wouldn't cover cosmetic issues if the performance of the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP14MK isn't affected. But for further details, we would recommend contacting Easton's Warranty Department directly at: (888) 259-1297. You would just need a copy of the purchase receipt to proceed with the warranty claim.
Mac
Which bat is better: the Easton FS2 or the MAKO? haileyrae
Both bats are great, high quality option. The biggest difference between the Easton FS2 and the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP14MK is that the MAKO will have a longer, more extended barrel design to it.
Marcus
My daughter is 15 years old. She is 5 foot 4 and weighs 115 pounds. She has good hitting technique, she is a rookie slapper, but wants to hit a little longer as a line drive hitter. What is a better option; the Easton FS3, Easton Mako, or another option? Steve C
Given the slightly larger sweet spot on the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) compared to other similar style models, I would lean toward that because you may have a better chance with the larger sweet spot to square up more pitches. The 2016 Easton FS3 CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16S312) is a nice option but the MAKO may allow more room for error.
Patrick
Why is the Easton Mako FP14MK higher priced than the Easton Mako FP15MK ? When the 15 is a year newer Jason
The reason why the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is at a higher price compared to the 2015 Easton MAKO (FP15MK) is a result of the price point at which we were able to get the 2015 model, the supply that is currently still on the market for the 2014 model and the popularity of the 2014 MAKO.
Cameron
Do they make a 33" 22 oz 2015 MAKO? Andrea
The Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP14MK came in a drop 10 option and the 2015 model came in a drop 8, drop 9 and drop 10. The 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 will come in the desired 33 inch 2015 oz model.
