Pros: This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1. Cons:My whole team wants to use it.

2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: YB14MK review by Fortheloveofthegame
Pros: The Mako feels more end loaded like the XL1. It virtually feels just like the XL1 but 1 ounce lighter. When my son hit both the Mako and XL1 on the sweet spot, the XL1 flew farther. My recommendation is that if you are strong enough to swing the XL1, get the XL1. If you need your bat a little lighter get the Mako or XL2 or XL3 to save some dough. If you need more swing speed, stick to the S Series. Cons:None. Great bat for the person that can't quite swing the XL1 but the S series is too light for.

I am 5 foot 5 and weigh 100 pounds. Should I get the Mako or the XL1? Also, what size should I buy?

Based on your height and weight, we would suggest a 31 inch bat. The preference between the 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB14MK) and the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) would be based on whether you prefer a more balanced design like the MAKO or a more end-loaded feel like what the XL1 would be. Both bats are very nice options.

My son is 5'1" and a thin 82 lbs. He's not the strongest kid but he has a lot of bat speed, and is a very good contact hitter. He loves the MAKO. What size would you recommend for the bat to last through the 2015 season? It will be around 18 months.

Based on the player's approximate height and weight, I would suggest 30". However, if you are wanting the bat to last a little bit longer, I would probably suggest increase the size to 31" or 32", so that he can increase his time using the 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14MK).

I am 4 foot 8 and weigh 80 pounds. I am not the best hitter. I am usually late with slow bat speed. What Easton do you recommend and what size and weight? I was looking at the Mako, XL1, or S1.

If you are needing to create more bat speed, I would stick with either the 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB14MK) or the 2014 Easton S1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14S1). Both of those bats will be more balanced than the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) which will make them easier to swing faster. Based on your height and weight, we would suggest a 29 inch bat.
