2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL14S110 review by Person
Pros: When I got it, it was a great bat. It had a lot of pop and it never vibrated. Cons:After about two weeks it totally died and all the pop went away. Even when I squared up with it it wouldn't be a hard or far hit.

Ask A Question

Should my son switch to an XL1? He is a line drive hitter who wants more mass.

The 2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S110) features a balanced swing weight, which is great to work on bat speed and bat control. The XL1 features an end loaded swing weight, which is typically preferred by power hitters. If your son is looking to add more mass, going with an end loaded bat would be an option to check out. A heavier bat will slow down his bat speed, so if he can generate great bat speed, in addition to the end load, that should allow for more distance. If he struggles with bat speed and is on the smaller side, going to an end loaded bat can cause hitching or looping in his swing. The choice will depend on your son, his strength, and his bat speed.

I'm going into 13U travel baseball. I'm not the strongest, but I have great bat speed. I was trying to decide between the Easton S1 or the XL1. Which has more durability?

The biggest difference between the the 2014 Easton S1: (SL14S110) and the 2014 Easton XL1 (Sl14X18) is going to be the weight distribution. Overall, both models will be very similar in durability. However, if your game reflects the style of a contact hitter, I would probably suggest the 2014 Easton S1: (SL14S110), because it will be very balanced. The 2014 Easton XL1 (Sl14X18) will work great for a power hitter because of the end-load that is incorporated at the end of the barrel.

What is the difference in this bat and the XL1? My son really loves the XL1. What can I tell him the difference is?

The Easton S1 (SL14S110) and the Easton XL1 (SL14X18) is are both two-piece composite bats. The difference would be that the Easton S1 (SL14S110) is a balanced swing weight and the Easton XL1 (SL14X18) is an end loaded swing weight.

Product Description

New for 2014! The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S1 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 12 Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
