2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL14S110 review by Person
Pros: When I got it, it was a great bat. It had a lot of pop and it never vibrated. Cons:After about two weeks it totally died and all the pop went away. Even when I squared up with it it wouldn't be a hard or far hit.

2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL14S110 review by CB
Pros: I swung this bat when I was in 12u and it was the BEST! Right out of the box there was tons of pop! Even with the big barrel and the small handle it had, the bat felt weightless! Rip it out of the box and go have some fun! Cons:The look on peoples faces when you tell people they can't use it!

Is the S1 Senior League composite bat hot out of the wrapper or is there a break in period? If there is a break in period, what is recommended?

The 2014 Easton S1 (SL14S110) will require a break in period. For bats with composite hitting surfaces, we recommend 150-200 hits off a batting tee or soft toss. It’s best to start off at about 40% power, and gradually increase. Also, be sure to rotate the bat a quarter of turn in your hands after every hit.

My son has entered a high level travel team and now they are allowing big barrel bats. My son uses an Easton S2 (29" 16 oz -13) bat. I am very interested in the best Easton big barrel bat for him, but I am not sure on the bat size. He is 8 years old, 56" tall and 73 lbs. Hes a great contact hitter and I'm afraid if I go too heavy that it might effect his swing. Can you please send me in the right direction for a bat and size?

Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 29" bat. The 2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S110) is a very solid option. However, a better fit for him might be the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB). The MAKO has a lighter swing weight and a slightly longer barrel for a bigger sweet spot.

Would this bat be legal for the Intermediate division of Little League? The rules state composite bats need to be BBCOR certified; not sure if this bat meets the standard.

This 2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S110) is not approved for the Intermediate (50/70) Division of Little League baseball. All BBCOR bats will have a length to weight ratio that does not exceed -3 and a barrel diameter that does not exceed 2 5/8". The barrel size is fine on this (SL14S110), but it's a -10 model. The bat rules in that division essentially eliminate the possibility of using a bat with a composite barrel for some of the younger players. If you're set on a -10 model, the Easton S2 would be approved for that Division with its alloy barrel.

Product Description

New for 2014! The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S1 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 12 Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
