The two differences between the 2014 Easton S1: SL14S110 Senior League and the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League is going to be the color scheme and the manufacturer warranty. The 2013 S1 has a 400 day warranty and the 2014 S1 has a 12 month warranty.

Both the 2014 Easton S1: SL14S110 Senior League bat and the 2014 MAKO Senior League bat would have a great sweet spot and performance. The MAKO will have a more extended barrel length compared the S1. The handle piece will feel similar to one another.

The 2014 Easton S1: (SL14S110) Senior League bat is approved for PONY play. This bat has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and features the USSSA BPF 1.15 performance certification. PONY limits the barrel size to 2 5/8" at the max for all divisions, and shouldn't restrict the length to weight ratio or materials that are approved. However, it's always best to check with a coach or league official to ensure your bat is approved for your particular division.

The 201 Easton S1 (SL14S110) would not be approved for the Little League Juniors 12-14 year old division. In that division, any composite barrel bat like the S1 must be BBCOR certified. The model number for the BBCOR certified S1 is BB14S1. It will be much heavier with a drop three length to weight ratio rather than the drop ten Senior League model.

There is no set time period or number of hits that are in a certain bat. Too many factors go into the durability of the bat to be able to estimate the lifespan.The 2014 Easton S1 (SL14S110) is an extremely durable composite bat but with extended use, all bats can see durability issues or a decline in performance.
There are ways to help expand the lifespan of the bat. Having just your player use the bat rather than allowing teammates to use the bat as well will help limit the wear and tear it faces. Also, using the bat in only game situations and having a separate bat for batting practice will help prolong the lifespan.
We also recommend not using the bat in weather below 55 degrees. The baseball can condense and become harder at this point and this could damage the bat.
Lastly, we do not recommend using the bat to hit anything but approved baseballs. Training balls or yellow dimpled cage balls can cause damage to the bat that can shorten the lifespan.

The biggest difference between the the 2014 Easton S1: (SL14S110) and the 2014 Easton XL1 (Sl14X18) is going to be the weight distribution. Overall, both models will be very similar in durability. However, if your game reflects the style of a contact hitter, I would probably suggest the 2014 Easton S1: (SL14S110), because it will be very balanced. The 2014 Easton XL1 (Sl14X18) will work great for a power hitter because of the end-load that is incorporated at the end of the barrel.

This 2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S110) is not approved for the Intermediate (50/70) Division of Little League baseball. All BBCOR bats will have a length to weight ratio that does not exceed -3 and a barrel diameter that does not exceed 2 5/8". The barrel size is fine on this (SL14S110), but it's a -10 model. The bat rules in that division essentially eliminate the possibility of using a bat with a composite barrel for some of the younger players. If you're set on a -10 model, the Easton S2 would be approved for that Division with its alloy barrel.

My son has entered a high level travel team and now they are allowing big barrel bats. My son uses an Easton S2 (29" 16 oz -13) bat.
