2014 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL14S310B review by Andrew
Pros: We had the worth prodigy bat from 2012 before. It was an alloy bat also and work good for my son. My son got this bat and loves it twice as much. He loves the feel and feels like he's smashing the ball even more even though he already was before. He is 12 years old and the leadoff hitter on his tournament team. hopefully we will really tear it up at Cooperstown this year! This Easton Yellow bat seems to be pretty popular out there. Don't worry about the indentions as that is typical for an alloy bat if you're a good hitter. Just don't use them in the cages and you can exchange it under warranty at the end of the season if you have dents. Your ballplayer will love this bat. Cons:Stay away from composite bats!

Which senior league bat would you recommend for a contact-hitter? Also, what senior league bat is the most balanced?

One of my top recommendations based on the characteristics that you are looking for would be the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat: (DXCFX). The two-piece design makes this bat an excellent option for contact-hitters. It is designed to provide players with added flex as they swing through the zone. This model is also one of the most balanced models as well. Overall, I think this would be an excellent choice for you to take a closer look at.

Is a 2 3/4" barrel illegal in the Intermediate Division?

For the Intermediate Division in Little League (11-13 years old) a 2 5/8" barrel is allowed with a maximum length of 34". If the material is composite, the bat has to be BBCOR certified. Therefore, yes, a 2 3/4" barrel such as the 2014 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: (SL14S310B) will be illegal.

Product Description

New for 2014! The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S3 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty.
