Pros: crap ton of pop, hit well right out of the wrapper, not a lot of end-load, not a lot of vibration, just an overall great bat Cons:This one is kinda obvious, but the price!

Pros: Incredible pop with almost no vibration. Massive sweet spot. Believe the reviews. Bat is that good. Son driving ball 20-30 feet further right out of wrapper. Hits like it should be illegal-but it is not! Need good mechanics to swing though - moderately end-loaded. Cons:None.

2014 Easton XL1: SL14X18 Senior League review by John Depinet
Pros: Bought this bat for my 10yr old boy who loves it (29/21). Used the 2013 S1 big barrel last year (30/10) and was a little worried about the XL1 being to end loaded so I bought the shorter yet slightly weightier XL1. Perfect fit and the amount of power generated of the S1 is big! If I would have went with the 30" XL1 it would have been too heavy. S1 is a great bat but was just looking for more power and we got it now. Cons:My son has complained about vibration but had the same amount in the 2013 S1.

Ask A Question

Is this legal for Junior's Little League Division, ages 13-15?

The 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X18) is not legal in Junior's Little League Division. All composite barrel bats must be BBCOR certified. We recommend the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39).

I am 5'1 112 I swing a 2013 s1 I have good bat speed and quick hands I wonder if this is to heavy

The 2014 Easton XL1: (SL14X18) will be slightly heavier at the end of the barrel. If you like the feel of the S1, which is more balanced, the XL series will have a different weight distribution. It will be more end loaded. Generally, end loaded bats are favored more by power hitters. However, this particular model will only have a slight end loaded feel. I don't think this particular model would be too heavy for you, but it just depends on what you feel most comfortable swinging. Balanced bats will have their weight more evenly distributed, and end loaded bats will be more top heavy.

i have an average bat speed, and i was using the s3 in drop 10 last season, and i have never gotten a composite bat, does composite have good pop,i a strong for my age, would this be the bat for me

Composite bats have great pop just like alloy bats. The 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X18) bat is more for a power hitter. This bat will be slightly end-loaded so it will be heavier than a balanced bat. We would recommend to staying with a more balanced bat such as the 2014 Easton S1 (SL14S110).

Product Description

New for 2014! The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL1 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 12 Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
