Description

***If within 30 days of the purchase the consumer is not completely satisfied with the performance of their TRU3 Bat, they are able to return it to the retailer from which the purchase was made or directly to Louisville Slugger for a full refund of the documented retail price paid.*** It's time to step up and attack the diamond, because the three-piece composite just changed forever! Louisville Slugger proudly introduces this season's new Attack with it's revolutionary three-piece technology. This revolutionary new transition technology strengthens the link between the barrel and handle to give the Attack a trampoline spring and virtually eliminates vibration on contact. This straighter, thicker rubber ring results in a bat that is not only sturdier, but gives players an unparalleled feel of the ball jumping off the bat. Rather than thicken the barrel walls to meet BBCOR standards, Louisville Slugger has inserted a 1" wide graphite band. This Flex Band Technology allows the Attack to have the lowest swing weight of any BBCOR bat, and it's small enough that the sweet spot feels just like your old BESR bat! The Attack is constructed from Louisville Slugger's Pure 360 composite that uses thinner, high-strength and lightweight graphite fibers to add more layers to the barrel for reinforced strength, while reducing the overall thickness of the barrel wall. More pop, less weight: that's the formula for better performance AND durability. ATTACK the strike zone like never before with the Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR! Louisville Slugger: Be the Best, or Swing the Rest! It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

2014 vs. 2013 Babybrins player

Pros: compared to the 2013 model, it has a lighter swing weight, slightly larger barrel, better grip, better build quality.

Cons: None except for price. I won the bat on twitter and it now replaces my 2013 model, but $400 is a lot of money.

Tessa
What's the break-in period for this bat? lhsbaseball11
For composite models like the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR), we recommend 150-200 hits off a tee or soft toss. It"s best to start off at about 40% power, and gradually increase. Also, be sure to rotate the barrel a ¼ inch every swing.
John H
What is the difference between this and the Raid? Dusty9999
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) is a three-piece full composite design. The 2014 Louisville Slugger Raid (BBRD14-RR) is a three-piece design with an alloy barrel.
John
Is the Raid or the Attack better? I am a balanced hitter that hits around 6 home runs a season but also bats for contact. I play college ball so which do you recommend? K4lewis
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Raid BBCOR (BBRD14-RR) are both nice options. Both bats feature Louisville's new Three-Piece Tru-3 Technology which helps to greatly reduce sting and vibration to the hands. With this new technology, Louisville is offering a 30 day period in which to try the bat and if you are not happy with the performance, they will issue you a refund. The main difference is going to come down to what you prefer for a barrel material. The Attack features a composite barrel that will require a short break-in period before reaching peak potential and will get hotter over the lifespan of the bat. The Raid features an alloy barrel that will be hot out of the wrapper and gradually dull in performance towards the end of the bat's lifespan. The Raid will have more of a ping sound when the ball is struck whereas the Attack will have more of a thud or a crack. Both bats adhere to BBCOR performance standards.
Patrick

The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) Adult has a three-piece fully composite design.
Jason
Does this bat have more pop than the Mako and CF6? zach3
The Mako,CF6 and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) all have equal pop. All three of these bats are composite. You could not go wrong with either one of these bats.
Kyle
Would you recommend this bat to more of a power hitter? Are there better bats on the market for that kind of hitter? ChazzMuffin
It really depends on your preferences. There are several power hitters that prefer a balanced swinging bat, in order to maximize bat speed. The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) is very balanced, and would allow any player to increase their swing speed. Many times though, power hitters will opt for a more end loaded bat, like the Easton XL series or the DeMarini Voodoo. These bats will try to increase the weight in the barrel in order to maximize power.
Justin R.
Does this bat need a break in period? I have the 2013 Attack, but where the handle and barrel connect got loose an now its wobbly, is that normal? scott
Yes, the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) will require a break in period as it is a full composite bat. If a bat becomes loose and/or wobbly then there is a defect of some sort, and you might try contacting Louisville Slugger about the warranty on the bat.
Kyle J.
The Attack or DeMarini M2M? I know the prices are drastically different is the performance of these bats drastically different as well? Steve
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) is a balanced two-piece composite bat. The DeMarini M2M BBCOR: (DXM2C) is a two-piece alloy bat and is slightly end loaded. Both perform very well. The Attack will have more flex, and designed for a contact hitter. The M2M is a stiffer bat, better for a power hitter.
Kara
I have a Z-1000 and I am more of a contact hitter. I want to stay with Louisville, but my friend has an XL1. I was wondering if this bat could compete or be better than the MAKO, XL1 and CF6? spw
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) replaced the Louisville Slugger Z-1000. The Attack is comparable to the MAKO and the CF6. They are all balanced, two-piece composite bats. They are designed for a contact hitter. The Easton XL1 is an end loaded bat and is best for a power hitter.
Kara
What bat has the biggest sweet spot on the market? zane black
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) will have a very large sweet spot. A few other great models for sweet spot size would be the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR or the DeMarini CF6 BBCOR.
Brandon

The composite material has been upgraded to a lighter, Pure 360 Composite and the TRU3 technology for reduced vibration and increased energy transfer has been added to the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR).

Will TPX come out with a new Attack? Why did the discontinue this model? My son used the -5 and loved it. It had lots of pop, more than the Omaha. He now needs a -3. He is 5'4" and weighs 105 lbs. He is a contact hitter. What other bats would you suggest? Bushwhcker
The new version of the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR) will be called the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153). It is really the same model and design with a new name and color scheme. I would definitely suggest this bat for him and also the Easton MAKO, DeMarini CF6, and Rawlings TRIO BBCOR models.
Brandon
Are you guys going to restock 33" 30 oz.? jake
Unfortunately, the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR) is a closeout model, so we do not anticipate getting any additional sizes back in stock. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Tessa
For a fast hands hitter would you recommend this bat or the Marucci Black? Can you returned this bat if you don't like it? ChaBombs
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR) or the 2014 Marucci Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB14) would both be great options. They are both high-end two-piece designs. The major difference and what your preference would be based on is if you want the alloy barrel on the Black or the composite barrel on the Attack. The Attack does come with a limited 30 day "love it or return it" program. After that 30 days, you would not be able to return the bat except under the warranty with the manufacturer for a defect.
Patrick
Would this bat be good for a doubles hitter? Also, this would be my first composite so how do you break it in? Are there any other bats you would recommend for a 5 foot 11 130 pound 12 year old? swagbaseball
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR) would be a good model if you are required to use BBCOR certified bats. It can be used by any type of hitter and has a well balanced swing weight for a lighter feel. We would recommend a brief break-in period of about 100 hits or so while rotating the barrel of the bat a quarter turn each hit. You can do this using soft toss or tee work.
Patrick
I'm a power hitter who focuses on extra base hitting. I have heard mixed reviews about the pop, can you sway me towards this bat? Brian
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR) would be an excellent option for you. The three-piece design strengthens the link between the barrel and handle and virtually eliminates vibration. The Flex Band technology improves the sweet spot as well as lowering the swing weight.
Jake
Where can I get a 33" in this bat? 14lasershow
Unfortunately, the Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR) has been discontinued by Louisville Slugger, so we will not be receiving any additional sizes back in stock. With this bat being last years model, your best chance at finding a 33" would be on auction sites such as Amazon or eBay. You can also try contacting Louisville Slugger directly to see if they have any additional inventory available as well. You can also check out the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153), that is the model that replaced the Attack and will feature the same specs.
Tessa
I own a DeMarini CF5 LE BBCOR Baseball Bat. I have just recently acquired a Louisville Slugger Attack 2014. In your opinion, what is the better bat? Antonio
The DeMarini CF5 LE and the Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR) are very similar. Both are fully 100% composite and very balanced in swing weight. The pop and performance will be very much the same. Either bat would be a fantastic choice!

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
