Description

The design that has shocked baseball and softball with its cutting edge technology is back and better than ever! The Z-2000 employs S1iD Technology that allows the barrel to flex to its maximum allowable performance level from SWING 1. Two inner discs are positioned inside the barrel at the sweet spot to stop the barrel from from flexing past the legal limit. For players, this means they really do get MAXIMUM performance allowable and a larger performing sweet spot. Louisville Slugger uses their high quality Pure 360 Composite on the Z-2000. This new thinner high-strength and lightweight graphite fiber blend allows for reduced wall thickness, creating better performance while maintaining durability. The thinner fibers have allowed Louisville Slugger to use more layers in the barrel for added strength, but with an overall wall thickness that is thinner. The iST barrel to handle connection gives players maximum performance, even on inside hits. With a balanced swing weight, the Z-2000 is built for performance. For added comfort, the Z-2000 features 7/8" standard handle with a synthetic grip. Louisville Slugger: Be the Best. Or Swing the Rest. The Z-2000 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Hot out the wrapper! Louie player

Pros: Great pop out of the wrapper. In my opinion it has more pop than 2012's Z1000. With little effort I can place this ball deep in the OF. I can only imagine what will happen with about 50 more cuts into it. The sweet spot is very large and the new grip is a nice update for a softer feel.

Cons: None thus far.

Z-2000 is Junk and a waste of money Aaron Thompson player

Pros: The bat has a great feel and has no vibration on contact with the ball

Cons: The bats are hot out the wrapper but I have replaced mine three times for breaking; only getting 50 to 100 swings before bursting.

I'm picky but this bat is virtually flawless Reggie Ladoux player

Pros: I'm a lead off contact hitter who places the ball where I want(99% of the time) this bat is perfect for that. You can feel the flex of the bat when you make contact and the ball gets released into the air. My brother is a big guy power hitter and he pounds the ball with it so its not just a single's weapon. No break in time. No other bat sounds like it. Quality bat. Grew up an Easton only guy, love miken composites, but this slugger is where its at.

Cons: I dont have the end loaded ASA yet. Everyone wants to use it.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
