Unfortunately, we don't know the specifics of the change on the manufacturing level, but Marucci has addressed durability issues that were experienced with the 2013 models.

Both the 2014 Marucci ONE: MSBX1014-BK Black Senior League and the Marucci Team bat would be great for a player at his size. The Team is a previous model from Marucci and the ONE is the 2014 version of the Team. They will swing and feel the same.

The 2014 Marucci ONE (MSBX1014-BK Black Senior League) will have the same one-piece fully alloy design as the CAT 5. The swing weight will be very balanced like the CAT 5 also. The Easton S3 and DeMarini Vexxum would both be very high performing models.

What bat would you say is better? My son has a B4 29" 19 oz. But he used his teammates Marucci 28" 18 oz. and hit bombs with it. Do you think it's the weight or bat I used? Your bat coach referenced to pick the size. I would hate to have bought the wrong size. casey b
The 2014 Marucci ONE (MSBX1014-BK) and the COMBAT B4 are both very balanced bats. The correct weight a player uses can also vary based on the strength of the player and the size he uses now. If he is had success with the 28" 18 oz. bat, we recommend to move to that size.

Additionally, they are both well-balanced and manufactured out of the same AZ3000 Alloy. The Cat 5 will have a slightly longer barrel; but in terms of performance and durability, both bats will be very comparable.
