Pros: Looks pretty cool brand new.

Cons: Second RIP-IT bat I have bought for my son that has broken and he is a youth athlete. Warranty is great but its because they need it. For 250 bucks I'll stick with a brand I can trust. My other players have had similar issues with their RIP-IT products.

Does this RIP-IT model have problems? Garrett Reuben player

Pros: Just bats and Rip-It replaced bat without difficulty

Cons: Had problems with this bat. First bat had pop on one side and dead on other side. It broke in half when 13 y/0 used it for first time in game. (Outdoor temp 57) Received replacement bat and dead on both sides. Took it to practice and all agreed. Will not reorder this bat.

this bat is no joke ! that dad parent

Pros: We have a bbcor air elite which we like but this bat is crazy good. Wish i would of saved some money and skipped the elite on the bbcor and gotten just the air. Its more ballanced and has a sweetspot that few if any bat can match. Great deals are easy to find since its not an EASTON OR DEMARINI.

Cons: Just wish it had a thinner handle and a smaller knob

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat: B1405? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What other -5 can you compare this bat to? FTB Baseball
This will be a balanced bat, so I would compare the 2014 RIP-IT Senior Air to the Marucci PreBCOR, Marucci Black 2, and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum
Damon
Is this bat better than the Easton XL1 -5? blake
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1405 Senior League and the Easton XL1 are both high performing bats. The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR is a a one-piece alloy bat that is very balanced. The Easton XL1 is a two-piece bat that is end loaded, better for a player with some power.
Kara
Do you all have any 2013 -5 Rip-It bats in 30"? kevin
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1405 Senior League is the only Rip-It we have that is available in a -5.
Tori
How does the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1405 Senior League compare to the Louisville slugger 2014 Attack? bballfreak
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1405 Senior League and the Louisville slugger 2014 Attack are made differently. The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1405 Senior League is a one-piece alloy design, which will be hot right out of the wrapping. The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack: SLAT14-R8 Senior League is a one-piece composite design, which will take around 100-200 hits to get hot. Once the "break-in" period is over, both bats will give you similar results.
Garrett
My son is a power hitter, and we are wondering should he get this bat or the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord? He swung the drop 5 XL1 last year when he was 13 on his 14 year old travel team. Any Recommendations? NextLevelBaseball3
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405) Senior League has a balanced swing weight and is preferred by contact hitters. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVD5) Senior League has an end loaded swing weight, which is ideal for power hitters. The Voodoo swings fairly similar to the Easton XL1.
Jason
My son is 11 and says -8 is light. Would you move him to a -5 or look for a different bat? James
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405) is made with the AIR Technology, which makes for great bat speed and control on every swing. If your son says that the -8 is light, the Senior AIR would be a great option for him make the -5 transition with since it does feature a lowered M.O.I (Moment of Inertia) and a balanced swing weight.
Tessa L.
Which has more pop this or the -8 rip it? Anthony
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405) -5 and the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1408) -8 will be made of the same materials. If you are able to swing the -5 at the same speed as the -8 you will be able to create more power due to the added weight or mass of the bat. Otherwise, their performance will be the same.
Patrick
Hey I am 13 I'm 5'6" and I weigh about 135-140 lbs. What size do you recommend me? T-rav
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa L.
which has more pop, this or the rip it prototype bbcor? mcbomber
Both bats will have a great amount of pop. The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405) is a balanced bat where the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) is end-loaded.
Jackson
How does the swing weight of the Senior Air compare to the Louisville Assault or Demarini Vexum? What do you think of this bat? How do you like it compared to the other bats mentioned? George
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: (B1405) will have a similar swing weight to the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault: (SLAS14-R5). Both of these models will have an even weight distribution making it fairly easy to generate solid bat speed. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: (DXVX5) will be slightly end-loaded making it ideal for a power hitter. The weight distribution will be slightly heavier towards the end of the barrel, and will not feel as balanced as the previous models. The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: (B1405) has been extremely popular, and is a great model for power. The R2 alloy used will be very powerful, and the air technology used will also help create a faster bat speed and more control.
Merritt
I am 13 in eighth grade and 5' 100 lbs. What size do you recommend? ballplayer
Based on her height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405) Senior League.
Jason
Is there any difference between the drop 8 and the drop 5 other than the obvious in terms of weight? With regards to the drop 5, is the sound when contact is made any different? Is there more or less pop in the drop 5 compared to the drop 8. My son has the drop 8 and loves the bat. Looking to purchase the drop 5. Tony
The only difference between the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405) Senior League and the drop 8 is the weight. The bat will sound the same and perform very similarly. However, the more mass you can put behind the ball the farther it typically travels. The extra weight on the drop 5 should help increase his power if his swing speed stays the same.
Jason
I am thirteen 5 foot 9 inches and weigh 155 pounds. I am not sure if the pop is good for me? Also i play for a 13u travel ball team and just want to hit bombs is this the bat for me? jeremybats
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405) would be a good choice for you. The AIR technology allows for increased bat speed and control. It is very well balanced so your bat speed will increase allowing you to generate a lot of pop.
Bobby
I have a player who's 5'8" 200 lbs. He's only 13. He has a -5 XL1. I think he should be using the XL3. I like the RIP-IT and Marucci Black 2. What do you recommend for a big boy who uses his whole body with a home run swing? I call it the double pivot explosion. jojo
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1405 Senior League) would be a great choice for a 13 year old hitter. It is very balanced and will help get the hitter faster bat speeds. The Easton XL Series would be especially great for a power hitter. It will feature a longer barrel length and an end loaded feel.
Brandon
How does the Rawlings VELO compare to this? My son currently swings a VELO -9, and is looking for a bat to transition to a -3. That's why I was checking out the RIP-IT. E
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: (B1405) will be very similar to the bat he is currently using. Both models will incorporate a one-piece alloy design. However, the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: (B1405) will have AIR technology to help increase bat speed and control. The R2 Alloy material that is used will also be able to create even more power. This model would work excellent as a transition to using BBCOR.
Merritt
Is this bat considered a big barrel? joangel
Yes, the 2014 RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat (B1405) is considered a big barrel. The RIP-IT AIR features a 2 5/8" barrel.
John
Can I use this bat for USSSA? Does it have the stamp? Jeff
Yes, the 2014 RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat (B1405) should be legal for play in USSSA. We recommend double checking with a coach or league official to be certain. Also, this bat does feature the USSSA Thumb Print stamp. Here is link to the stamp on that bat: http://images.justbats.com/images/products/item-ri14-RISLB1405-4l.jpg
