Decent but falls short considering price. Mflores parent

Pros: I purchased this bat for 10 year old son, he started out swinging the 2014 Mako in the spring and transition to 2014 Voodoo paradox. The bat is nicely balanced No sting or harsh vibrations The grip is really nice and it gets thicker towards the knob. Sweet spot is fairly large, miss hits towards the end of bat and towards the handle still made the fly off the bat at a decent speed. Fast breakin time, especially when compared to the mako, 250 swings and it came alive.

Cons: The knob of the bat is larger and would bruise my sons hand after taking batting practice. POP on the bat is decent, but lacking for being a Sluggers top of the line model. We broken in the bat with around 1500 swings. the bat came alive at around 250 swings. The bats pop fell short of mako and really short the Voodoo. For the money the bat didnt meet my expectations. We used it for two weeks and 8 games, and returned it to Slugger under the 30 day performance promise.

Very Happy So Far G$Money parent

Pros: This bat was hot out of the wrapper. It has a nice sized sweet spot and has good pop. My 11U is a line drive hitter and this bat is nicely balanced for him and his game. My son is very comfortable swinging this bat. After he hits every adult in the area wants to see the bat. We have always had good luck with LS so we hope this bat is durable and keeps on performing over time.

Cons: The grip is chewing his hands up a little. It is early season so we will watch that.

Confidence Builder Scott parent

Pros: We got this bat for my 12u player. He had been swinging the Easton Mako, but with the Prime 915 he was able to jump 2 inches in bat length due to the balanced weight structure. In his first tournament even before the bat is fully broken in, he is hitting the ball much further. I can't wait to see him continue to grow in confidence and ability with this.

Cons: There are several paint chips that are already noticeable near the top end of the bat. It is cosmetic, but my son is disappointed that the bat is already showing it's use.

Louisville Prime 915 review baseball player player

Pros: This bat is amazing! I bought this bat for this baseball season and I love it! I play on a 12/13 year old travel league team. After I got the bat broke-in I used it in my first game and hit the second pitch over the fence. The bat feels amazing in your hands. The pop is also very good. If you are looking for a bat this is the one to get.

Cons: None

Is this bat just the Attack reprinted? I am a huge Louisville Slugger fan, but my son didn't like the Attack at all. Stew
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 (SLP915X) Senior League is the newer model of the Attack. They use the same materials and will perform very similarly. The main difference between the bats is the cosmetic look.

The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLP915X) will feature a two-piece composite design. The Select 715 will feature a two-piece half and half design. The handle will be composite while the barrel will be alloy. Both are very high performing bats and feel very balanced in swing weight.

What are the differences and advantages between a three-piece composite bat and a one-piece composite bat? I believe a three-piece has less vibration, does it create weak spots over a one- piece? Why would one company make a three-piece and one company make a one-piece bat? Korey
A three-piece bat is essentially a two-piece model with an extra connecting piece that is designed to eliminate vibration and improve comfort. However, this extra vibration reduction piece is why it is called a three-piece model. A two-piece model generally provides players with a little bit of extra flex through the zone. A one-piece tends to be a little bit stiffer, and power players tend to be a big fan of this structure.Ultimately, it comes down to what feels the best for the player. Therefore, manufacturers create different types of bats that provide players with different structures so players have a variety to choose from.

How long is the break-in? charles
We would recommend about 100-150 swings of soft toss or tee work to break in the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLP915X) making sure to rotate the barrel a quarter turn per hit to get it evenly broken in for play.
Patrick
Is this bat approved for the Babe Ruth League? baseball kid
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLP915X) is not approved for the Babe Ruth League. This bat is a 2 3/4 inch and from my understanding they only allow 2 1/4 - 2 5/8 barrel diameter.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
