impressed geoff mckiney player

Pros: ridiculous pop, line drive machine, I have several demarini's I bought this for a senior tournament, didnt use it, due to weather, took a 40-60 swings to find the sweet spot, feels lighter than advertised, just need to slow the approach to the ball initially, then look out!! I use this more than my composite bats .

Cons: finding the sweet spot

Love hitting with this bat, but it is ugly MattyP player

Pros: Decent pop, especially at this price point. I'm just hitting line drives for days with it. Broke in quickly. Has become the favorite bat for myself and most of my co-ed team.

Cons: Look at the picture. This is an UGLY bat. I bought it on a recommendation sight unseen, and the aesthetics would have made me not buy it if I had seen it first. Glad I didn't see it first, because it would have been my loss.

So Far Disappointed MWG St. Paul Mn player

Pros: Well balanced. Comfortable to hold and swing.

Cons: Purchased based upon other positive reviews. If you like the sound of "ping", enjoy trying to find a small sweet spot and love that electric feeling when you don't hit it squarely, this is the bat for you. On the other hand I've only hit maybe 50 balls so I'll give it more time. If things improve I'll be back to update my review. So far though my experience is polar opposite of yhe other reviews.

Good mid-range bat Kyle Pikaart player

Pros: Great for line drive hitters. Big sweet spot. Consistent contact and balanced well.

Cons: Not a ton of pop. Probably not the best bat for power hitters.

How does this alloy bat compare with the Ultimate Weapon, the old CU alloy models and other alloy options? Bigdaddy
This Louisville Slugger Vapor Single Wall Alloy Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBVA15U) has received very few reviews, but what has been left is very positive. I would compare it right alongside the Ultimate Weapon in regard to performance. Sadly, I was unable to find much on the CU alloy models (I believe they were made by Worth) in order to make a comparison. Overall, I would rate this Vapor model as high as any other alloy slowpitch bat we are carrying currently at JustBats.
Ben
My daughter is 13 years old about 100 lbs. She is playing JV Slowpitch. What would be a good size bat for her? donald keyser
For playing slowpitch softball, I would recommend getting your daughter the lightest option of slowpitch bat available. You'll notice that just about every slowpitch model we are carrying is going to be at a 34" length. For this Louisville Slugger Vapor Single Wall Alloy Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBVA15U), I would recommend the 26 oz model to get the lightest swing weight.
Ben

I need a slowpitch softball bat that gives the greatest pop for light hitting middle schoolers. Would this be alright? will
This Louisville Slugger Vapor Single Wall Alloy Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBVA15U) is a pretty solid option of alloy softball bat. The price on this model is low and the initial reviews have been solid, resulting in it being a great value. As well, you can get it in the 26 oz weight which should be good for middle school players (maybe a little heavy for some, but manageable).

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
