The 2015 Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax (SPSYMU) is USSSA approved, and will perform better with the older 44 core balls. We recommend the 2015 Miken Ultra 750X Maxload ASA (UL75MA) for optimal performance with the 52 core balls.

Both the 2015 Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax (SPSYMU) and the 2015 Miken M Nation Geno Buck Maxload ASA (MNATMA) would be great options to use with the Clincher balls. For best results with the "mush" balls, you want to use a stiff one-piece bat that is also end loaded. Since both those models feature those specs, they both would do great. The better bat for you will be a matter of preference.

A heavier model of the 2015 Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax (SPSYMU) may benefit your power numbers if you are able to swing it at the same speed. The equation is mass x velocity= power. If you go heavier and swing it at the same speed, your power should increase. If you sacrifice weight to get better bat speed it can achieve the same results but it would have to greatly increase the speed you produce.

If you are more of a power hitter, I would probably suggest the 2015 Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax: (SPSYMU). If you are more of a contact-hitter I would probably suggest going for the balanced model. An even weight distribution will make it a little easier to swing through the zone. However, if you are able to generate power pretty easily, an end-loaded model would fit your game well.

End loaded bats, like the 2015 Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SPSYMU), are best used by power hitters with great bat speed. If you are looking to increase your bat speed, then a balanced model is going to be better for you. Balanced models swing lighter than end loaded bats and are designed to increase a players bat speed.

These bats will not perform up to their highest standards in the colder weather. The .44 cor ball would be better versus some of the older bats from 2012 and prior. The older Easton Salvo's and Worth Mutant 454's are great against the .44 cor balls.

The .44 COR 375 Compression balls are best hit with models such as the Easton Synergy CNT Flex Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SCN8) which we no longer have in stock. You could also take a look at older ASA DeMarini J2 models or older Worth 454 ASA models as well.

It would ultimately come down to your personal preference for feel. I am not familiar with that type of ball. Most .44 core balls that are used will have a 375 compression rating and they are the old ASA certified balls. There are not any bats currently in production that are specifically designed to hit these balls as most softball regulating bodies have started using softer balls for safety reasons. Given that the restrictions on that Mizuno Spitfire would have been a different level at the point that bat was made, most bats on the market today may have a more restricted performance level. The weight is more of a personal preference for each individual hitter with the Miken Izzy Psycho so i would recommend staying around that 26 or 27 ounces. Although many small ball hitters have more success with more balanced bats.
