Unfortunately I have a smaller 11 yr old that is moving up to 13's next year. He swings a drop 8 CF7 now. We want to get him a drop 5 to swing during fall ball and in the cages during the winter. This is the only bat I can find in a 29 inch. In your opinion, would I be better off buying a 30/25 Omaha and putting a bat choke on it to shorten it up a bit? Or go with the EQT X2 in a 29? I have never held it not sure how heavy it feels in the barrel. Tony
If the player prefers an end-loaded design bat then we would recommend getting the 2016 Adidas EQT X2 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat: X2-SL as this will allow the player to swing the desired length. However, if the player prefers a balanced bat then the Omaha would be a better fit using the bat choke.

My son is playing 13U. He is currently hitting with the Rawlings 5150 (31"/26 oz). He is about 5'4"/120 lbs and is quite strong. He seems to swing the 5150 very fast. Just curious if you think the Adidas EQT X2 with its end-load may be a better fit? Keith
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation for the 31" length of a Youth Big Barrel/Senior League bat. However, since your son swings the 31"/26 oz size of the 5150 bat pretty fast, I think you could definitely look to an end-loaded bat in the same size (or move to balanced bat in the 32"/27 oz size). I think that this 2016 Adidas EQT X2 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (X2-SL), with its end-load, would be solid in the 31"/26 oz size for your player.

My 12 year old son is hitting a lot of balls short of the fence. Currently swinging a VELO 30"/20 oz which is very balanced with a lot of bat speed. He is 115 lbs and 5'1". Should we move to a -5 bat? What could we do to increase distance in his hits? unknownBatter
Based upon your player's height and weight, I do not think that it is absolutely necessary to move to a -5 bat at this time. However, I think he could definitely benefit from an increase in length and weight. My suggestion would be to get a bat with a 31" length and a 23 oz weight (-8 length-to-weight ratio). A bat to consider would be the 2016 Adidas EQT X1 Senior League -8 Baseball Bat (X1-SL). A little extra mass in the bat might help put some extra distance in his hits.

I was looking at this bat before and it had the option of 32"/27 oz, but that option is not appearing any longer. Are they just sold out or do they not offer that size anymore? DK3
Unfortunately, at the time of your question, we have sold out of this 2016 Adidas EQT X2 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (X2-SL) in the 32"/27 oz size. We will most likely not be getting more of this 2016 version of the bat in the 32"/27 oz size.
