GREAT BAT!!!!!!!! Dallin Beggs player
Pros: I have not taken many swings with this bat and it has great pop. The barrel on it is huge. Last it is light.
Cons: ZERO!!!
Great Bat Coach and Father coach
Pros: Very light swing weight, huge barrel, unbelieveable pop, balance feel with end loaded pop
Cons: Price... have only used it for a game so not sure the durability but combat has always made bats that last.
HOT!!!!HOT!!!!HOT!!!! FCAAHITMEN-5STARTIGER#45#85 parent
Pros: Great transition from 27/17 portent yb to a 27/17 sl.. Same pop as mako..But maxum has lighter swing.. Love combats..
Cons: None.. People say pricey... But its like this good tools good work... Great tools great work.. And we put on alot of work on this side..
AAU Triple Crown 11u(AAA) Nathan Fliess player
Pros: I am 11 years old and we won a tournament for a bid to the ESPN Little League Disney Tournament. I am on MAA Pitbulls and I hit a grand slam then the game was over. After that, in the championship game, the bases were loaded again and I hit another one over, after that it happened again! 3 Grand Slams in a row! This bat has so much pop; I used the Mako and I never hit one over, then I got this and got three grand slams, back-to-back-to-back. After that we won and we got the bid for Disney.
Cons: In my opinion the bat could have a cooler design, but other than that it is amazing!
hot..hot..hot trenton parent
Pros: Its best bat yet that my son has hit with. he is 9 years old and third at bat with it he hit hes first ever home run with it wich was a grand slame.. He loves the bat
Cons: None
No VIbration, A Combat with no Vibration!!! J Cherry parent
Pros: Bat lighter than weight says probably due to balanced construction, which was a plus for my 10 year old. The Barrel is the biggest I've seen and the sweet spot is literally from grip to end cap. My son asks to put Lizard skin on all of his Mako's and CF7's so it was nice to already have it on there. Stupid pop right out of the box. And the best thing of all is NO VIBRATION, I've always known Combat bats had the most pop but my son and other players always experienced vibration which made the bats useless. But so far no vibration with this bat which frankly should be illegal. My son is catching everything, going deep!!! If combat has actually eliminated the sting this is the best bat ever made.
Cons: None
Combat Maxum Scott coach
Pros: This bat is great to swing and its weight is right on with no vibration.
Cons: The pop of this bat is a little better than the Mako big barrel but that's not saying much. I have been thru all the big barrels on the market looking for one with the same pop as the mako small barrel and i'm still looking.
Best bat as of right now Noah parent
Pros: This bat is extremely well balanced and the pop is awesome
Cons: Only on the price
It's worth the price James parent
Pros: Light one piece design. Although this is one ounce lighter than his 2 5/8 Mako, it's a noticeable difference. It has less than 200 hits on it but it's quickly getting the balls out further and further. The lazer line drives are amazing off of this bat. This is his first Combat bat and I now see why teams have their hitters work off of the same bat. 500 day warranty!!! Most of our hitters use Lizard Skin wraps and this comes with one stock.
Cons: Only issue is one of the graphics bubbled then came off. Hoping an Ump doesn't think the bat was tampered with.
Baseball Dad Luis parent
Pros: The ball flies off the bat. When my son plays in Pony tournaments he uses The Combat. When he plays Little League tournaments where only 2 1/4 inch diam. bats are allowed he uses the Easton XL-1. Which has similar pop.
Cons: Price, price, price. After a couple hundred hits bat showed a crack which Combat replaced. I think it was an aberration, haven't had that problem.
AAA ROOKIE ALL STAR DIXIE LEAGUE 9/10 STATE CHAMPS Baseball MOM parent
Pros: BALANCED......LIGHT.........AWESOME BAT. Our 10 year old loved this bat and hit ......hit......hit
Cons: NADA>>>>>NOTHING
Good bat BigJo parent
Pros: my kid was at the cage and the maxum was offered to try. She used the 30/20 at the 50mph cage . out of 60 pitch's she hit the back fence 30 times . the backfence was 170 feet away. really good pop and the cage used the hard rubber balls.
Cons: price for a 9u player is a bit much....
12U Cooperstown Muckdog Parent parent
Pros: Light and comfortable to swing
Cons: Barrel cracked on two sides within a week.
13u AAA Will player
Pros: The bat is amazing I'm 13 and I've hit countless home runs with this thing it has so much pop I've never had a bat with the feel as good as this I think this bar might be combats best bat ever made I hit two walk off home runs with this. No matter how small u are you could probably put a ball out if the ball park with this pop amazing durability is pretty good and absolutely no vibration best bat yet
Cons: Durability isn't the best but still is pretty good
Dad/Coach Daryle coach
Pros: The barrel size really does make a big difference. Even when you miss the sweet spot the contact and pop off the bat is amazing. It is a little pricey, but worth the money.
Cons: Cosmetic durability is not the best, but that's not why I bought it
Coach bigjo coach
Pros: its the new mako for this year , we are in the second month of winter work outs 2 kids have been using them . the ball just jumps off the bat . its a bit scary pitching to the kids with the combats.
Cons: I still think the price is high . but the dads said they got a good deal on line.
WOW Ash parent
Pros: My son plays for 9U travel team. He owned Mako Torq, Mako Youth, Mako Torq Senior Big Barrel last couple years with diffrent sizes. We used only Easton cause we thought Mako is the best. but WOW... This COMBAT bat is on fire. I never ever seen my son hit that much farther, faster. Very Balanced. Huge Sweetspot, no way he could miss the ball with this bat. we just ordered another Combat Maxum 2 1/4 -10 drop for little league. Don't get me wrong avout Mako. They are all great but this one is better works for my son.
Cons: None
Not As Advertised Jim F parent
Pros: The finish is incredibly durable and looks good even after significant use
Cons: The claim that they've figured out how to eliminate vibration in this one-piece design is nothing more than advertising hype. Get jammed or hit one off the end of this bat and you'll feel the pain for several minutes. Also, the "balance" of this bat is taken too far. There's not enough mass in the barrel to give you the type of power that you're probably looking for. As a result, this turned out to be an expensive experiment that set me back $400, but we've already given up after just three months and gone back to a Mako. Not sure who wrote the other reviews here, but I'm guessing they work for Combat.
Great pop and balance Rainman parent
Pros: The 2/5/8 barrel provides great pop, balance and the sweet spot is big. I would recommend this for any player, especially kids who are smaller that are unable to swing a 2/3/4 barrel as well.
Cons: No cons
2nd game with bat hit first over the fence HR P Taylor parent
Pros: straight out of the box pop, great feel, balanced...we have all the top bats Cf's eastons etc and this is the best bat I seen, the barrel is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: shop around just bats just lowered price
Great, great bat, especially for ~$200... Ollie coach
Pros: Light Swing weight, amazing pop, really really high quality paint. I can't say enough about the quality and durability of the paint. Bought the first one for the team when it came out last year, paint only scuffed a little at the end of the barrel by the end cap after 10+ months of 3x a week hitting and weekend tournaments. Still even looked pearlescent. High quality grip. Became the kids favorite bat and we have had Mako's, CF7/CF8, S1/S2/S3's, XL series. The only bats with similar pop are the CF7/CF8, and the XL series and each have their own pros and cons. There is not an overall better 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" barrel bat on the market.
Cons: While it has nice pop, it seems like it almost has no weight in the barrel. Really feels like swinging a -12. It's a hard transition to going back to swing a same weight in another manufacturer because of the feel. Doesn't reduce vibration like the CF8
10U Coach Coach coach
Pros: My leadoff hitter got this bat this weekend and all I can say is WOW!!! He went from hitting the ball softly in the gap to balls flying over the outfielders and hitting the wall. I can not wait to see how he hits it when it get broken in.
Cons: NONE
Balanced but little pop Rainman parent
Pros: Great balance and feel
Cons: Not as much pop as other bats.
2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Jerry parent
Pros: 11 year old 4'-11" 90 lb full time travel player hits balls over 275 feet on the fly over the outfielders regularly with this bat. It has increased his power where doubles and triples are now expected when he come to bat. Used it 1 month during off season indoor training to break the bat in for season. Graphics starting to wear but if you crush it who cares. 500 day warranty gives you piece of mind
Cons: None so far owned it for 6 months have 10 months of warranty left.
best bat I ve ever had Mr.dinger player
Pros: All around amazing
Cons: Absolutely nothing
No need for breaking in this bat TK parent
Pros: My 12 year old son hit 3 homeruns right out of the box in his first tournament with this bat. Great pop, nice balance. An overall great bat! LOVE IT!
Cons: A little vibration if you hit the ball off the end of the bat.
Combat Quinn04 player
Pros: I went from striking out to hitting absolute bombs and I haven't watched a strike go by since.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 MAXSL110 Steve parent
Pros: OUTSTANDING Bat, assisted my 11 year old last year in leading his team in slugging pct. and tied with home runs with many bigger boys on his team. Bought a second one for 12U and breaking it in with 220 foot blasts off a tee.
Cons: None, looks better when the graphics are messed up from crushing it.
combat maxum -10 KC parent
Pros: great pop, very fast
Cons: cracks easily
Combat Maxum M. Young player
Pros: Tons of pop, huge hitting surface, no vibration whatsoever anywhere you hit the ball, hot right out of the wrapper, just kept getting hotter the more I hit with it. Managed to hit two shots out of the ballpark. Its a balanced bat. Love the lizard skin grip
Cons: lizard skin gets a little greasy after using barehanded. First time you pick it up in a while, feels heavy when used in weather under 50 degrees, less pop to the bat but still a ton. It will not break in cold weather. Paint chips easily
2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: Eldon Burns parent
Pros: Great bat with lots of pop.
Cons: None
Combat maxum Jack parent
Pros: Great pop, till it pops in half. before anyone goes crazy, i am a combat guy through and through. my son currently has 4 combat bats, and just bc the maxum was not good for us, i wont forget how great their bats are. my sons first combat was the wanted, read about the pop of two piece composites so went with that. he killed it all season. being a power hitter, we switched to the portent, my son wont use anything else now. thought the maxum was going to be the sweet spot in the middle, NOPE. my son busted that bat after a few games. he does hit hard (he broke his first composte bat in half at age 7, a worth walmart bat so to be expected) and avg about 800 a season, but no excuse for that. still love you combat, just dont discontinue the portent or my son my take up tap dancing, and if you saw the kid play ball you would think it was a tragedy
Cons: Bat busted at about half season
New to the Big Barrel Bats Cliff Roberts parent
Pros: The bat was very balanced. It swings lighter than it's actual weight. My son has been happy with it since we unwrapped it. We are new to BPA travel and needed a big barrel bat. I like the price and the fact that the barrel didn't have a seam. We have had De Marini's in the past and this bat was cheaper and honestly is close if not better than the De Marini. The lizard skin grip is awesome (my son's words).
Cons: The bat has a lot of vibration in the handle when you make contact. I'm hoping this is just because it hasn't been broke in yet. We've only used it inside and haven't used the bat with the colder early season conditions. Hopefully as the temperature heats up the bat will also!
1 1 parent
Pros: Great pop right out of wrapper. My 10 year old son hit one out at first practice.
Cons: Only used it at one practice
