Description

The team at COMBAT said that "something big" was in the works. But the bat that emerged has pushed through the boundaries of what was even considered possible with a composite bat design! Introducing: the new COMBAT MAXUM! COMBAT has made a name for themselves in the bat industry by consistently delivering bats that offer an extreme combination of a light swing weight and HUGE sweet spot, but the MAXUM takes the crown in both categories. This COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 provides hitters with an almost unfair sweet spot that is 20-40% larger than competitor models! Switching to the MAXSL110 will also result in an average of 23% Swing Weight Reduction! These bats are one-piece composite designs created through advanced Precision Molding Technology (PMT). Unlike typical composite bats that are created by rolling/overlapping layers of material, the PMT process injects liquid resin into seamless high-quality carbon sleeves under extreme pressure. The result is an ultra-consistent product that eliminates seams/weak points that you get with the traditional process. That means that players can rest-assured that the MAXUM will deliver perfectly tuned performance over a longer lifespan. The MAXSL110 carries the USSSA BPF 1.15 Performance Certification mark on its taper, a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, and a full twelve (12) month warranty. COMBAT: Measure Up to MAXUM! Free Shipping!

AAU Triple Crown 11u(AAA) Nathan Fliess player

Pros: I am 11 years old and we won a tournament for a bid to the ESPN Little League Disney Tournament. I am on MAA Pitbulls and I hit a grand slam then the game was over. After that, in the championship game, the bases were loaded again and I hit another one over, after that it happened again! 3 Grand Slams in a row! This bat has so much pop; I used the Mako and I never hit one over, then I got this and got three grand slams, back-to-back-to-back. After that we won and we got the bid for Disney.

Cons: In my opinion the bat could have a cooler design, but other than that it is amazing!

No VIbration, A Combat with no Vibration!!! J Cherry parent

Pros: Bat lighter than weight says probably due to balanced construction, which was a plus for my 10 year old. The Barrel is the biggest I've seen and the sweet spot is literally from grip to end cap. My son asks to put Lizard skin on all of his Mako's and CF7's so it was nice to already have it on there. Stupid pop right out of the box. And the best thing of all is NO VIBRATION, I've always known Combat bats had the most pop but my son and other players always experienced vibration which made the bats useless. But so far no vibration with this bat which frankly should be illegal. My son is catching everything, going deep!!! If combat has actually eliminated the sting this is the best bat ever made.

Pros: This bat is great to swing and its weight is right on with no vibration.

Cons: The pop of this bat is a little better than the Mako big barrel but that's not saying much. I have been thru all the big barrels on the market looking for one with the same pop as the mako small barrel and i'm still looking.

It's worth the price James parent

Pros: Light one piece design. Although this is one ounce lighter than his 2 5/8 Mako, it's a noticeable difference. It has less than 200 hits on it but it's quickly getting the balls out further and further. The lazer line drives are amazing off of this bat. This is his first Combat bat and I now see why teams have their hitters work off of the same bat. 500 day warranty!!! Most of our hitters use Lizard Skin wraps and this comes with one stock.

Cons: Only issue is one of the graphics bubbled then came off. Hoping an Ump doesn't think the bat was tampered with.

Baseball Dad Luis parent

Pros: The ball flies off the bat. When my son plays in Pony tournaments he uses The Combat. When he plays Little League tournaments where only 2 1/4 inch diam. bats are allowed he uses the Easton XL-1. Which has similar pop.

Cons: Price, price, price. After a couple hundred hits bat showed a crack which Combat replaced. I think it was an aberration, haven't had that problem.

WOW Ash parent

Pros: My son plays for 9U travel team. He owned Mako Torq, Mako Youth, Mako Torq Senior Big Barrel last couple years with diffrent sizes. We used only Easton cause we thought Mako is the best. but WOW... This COMBAT bat is on fire. I never ever seen my son hit that much farther, faster. Very Balanced. Huge Sweetspot, no way he could miss the ball with this bat. we just ordered another Combat Maxum 2 1/4 -10 drop for little league. Don't get me wrong avout Mako. They are all great but this one is better works for my son.

Not As Advertised Jim F parent

Pros: The finish is incredibly durable and looks good even after significant use

Cons: The claim that they've figured out how to eliminate vibration in this one-piece design is nothing more than advertising hype. Get jammed or hit one off the end of this bat and you'll feel the pain for several minutes. Also, the "balance" of this bat is taken too far. There's not enough mass in the barrel to give you the type of power that you're probably looking for. As a result, this turned out to be an expensive experiment that set me back $400, but we've already given up after just three months and gone back to a Mako. Not sure who wrote the other reviews here, but I'm guessing they work for Combat.

Great, great bat, especially for ~$200... Ollie coach

Pros: Light Swing weight, amazing pop, really really high quality paint. I can't say enough about the quality and durability of the paint. Bought the first one for the team when it came out last year, paint only scuffed a little at the end of the barrel by the end cap after 10+ months of 3x a week hitting and weekend tournaments. Still even looked pearlescent. High quality grip. Became the kids favorite bat and we have had Mako's, CF7/CF8, S1/S2/S3's, XL series. The only bats with similar pop are the CF7/CF8, and the XL series and each have their own pros and cons. There is not an overall better 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" barrel bat on the market.

Cons: While it has nice pop, it seems like it almost has no weight in the barrel. Really feels like swinging a -12. It's a hard transition to going back to swing a same weight in another manufacturer because of the feel. Doesn't reduce vibration like the CF8

2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Jerry parent

Pros: 11 year old 4'-11" 90 lb full time travel player hits balls over 275 feet on the fly over the outfielders regularly with this bat. Graphics starting to wear but if you crush it who cares. 500 day warranty gives you piece of mind

Pros: Tons of pop, huge hitting surface, no vibration whatsoever anywhere you hit the ball, hot right out of the wrapper, just kept getting hotter the more I hit with it. Managed to hit two shots out of the ballpark. Its a balanced bat. Love the lizard skin grip

Cons: lizard skin gets a little greasy after using barehanded. First time you pick it up in a while, feels heavy when used in weather under 50 degrees, less pop to the bat but still a ton. It will not break in cold weather. Paint chips easily

Combat maxum Jack parent

Pros: Great pop, till it pops in half. before anyone goes crazy, i am a combat guy through and through. my son currently has 4 combat bats, and just bc the maxum was not good for us, i wont forget how great their bats are. my sons first combat was the wanted, read about the pop of two piece composites so went with that. he killed it all season. being a power hitter, we switched to the portent, my son wont use anything else now. thought the maxum was going to be the sweet spot in the middle, NOPE. my son busted that bat after a few games. he does hit hard (he broke his first composte bat in half at age 7, a worth walmart bat so to be expected) and avg about 800 a season, but no excuse for that. still love you combat, just dont discontinue the portent or my son my take up tap dancing, and if you saw the kid play ball you would think it was a tragedy

New to the Big Barrel Bats Cliff Roberts parent

Pros: The bat was very balanced. It swings lighter than it's actual weight. My son has been happy with it since we unwrapped it. We are new to BPA travel and needed a big barrel bat. I like the price and the fact that the barrel didn't have a seam. We have had De Marini's in the past and this bat was cheaper and honestly is close if not better than the De Marini. The lizard skin grip is awesome (my son's words).

Cons: The bat has a lot of vibration in the handle when you make contact. I'm hoping this is just because it hasn't been broke in yet. We've only used it inside and haven't used the bat with the colder early season conditions. Hopefully as the temperature heats up the bat will also!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How would you compare this to the Easton MAKO TORQ and the DeMarini CF7? Dudeler
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) is a one piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight. The one piece design will lead to the MAXUM having a stiffer flex than two piece bats. The Easton MAKO TORQ is a two piece composite bat with a balanced swing weight. The DeMarini CF7 is also a two piece composite bat with a balanced swing weight.
Tom
Is the weight balanced for this bat or is it top end heavy? Paul
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) is a very well balanced design for a light swing weight.
Patrick
Is this a good bat for a 9 year old who plays year round? MMW8379
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) would be a great choice for a 9 year old player. This bat features a one-piece composite design as well as balanced swing weight. The balanced swing weight will be ideal for a player who may hit for contact and who is looking to work on bat speed and bat control.
Tessa
Is this bat hot out of the wrapper? The Cheeseburger
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) features a composite design that will require a break in period before usage.
Joe
Is this bat approved for Little League 50/70 and Little League Juniors? Tony
No, the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) is not going to be approved for Little League or Little League Juniors. Juniors requires a composite barrel bat to be BBCOR certified which this MAXUM -10 will not be.
John
Would this bat be good for an almost 9 year old who is 54 inches and 65 lbs? What size is best? Or should we use -12 MAXUM? scott
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) would be an excellent choice for a player who hits mostly for contact. Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 29" bat. With regard to comparing it to the -12 MAXUM, that will be up to the player. Generally, you want to swing the longest and heaviest bat that you can comfortably and consistently control. A lot of that is dictated by the player's overall size, strength as well as bat speed.
Tessa
What is the best break in method for this bat? Shawn
We have found that the best way to break in the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 and all other composite bats is about 150-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss. Start your swing off at about 50% and work your way up as you go also rotating the bat about a quarter of an inch after each swing to be sure and break in all sides of the bat. After you are done with those 150-200 swings then you can start doing front toss and hitting live.
Cooper

Like all of our bats, we recommend only using the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) in weather above 55 degrees. Below that temperature, the ball can condense and become harder which can cause damage to the bat.

JustBats.com is handling the returns under the 30 day trial period for the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110).
Patrick
What is the difference between the MAXSL110 and MAXSL210? Steve
The only difference is the barrel size of the bat. The MAXSL110 has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, and the the MAXSL210 has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter.
Jason
How does this bat compare to the 2016 Louisville Slugger Prime 916 SLP9160? Pro Players Canes
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) is similarly balanced and has the same drop weight as the 2016 Louisville Slugger Prime 916 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLP9160) but the style is different. The Prime is a two-piece design, the Maxum is a single-piece design. Typically one-piece bats are stiffer and preferred by power hitters. Two-piece bats have more flex and are usually preferred by contact hitters, but this is not always the case.
Patrick
We are shopping for a new bat for the 2016 season for our 9 year old (5'5" and 78 lbs). He is currently hitting with a Marucci CAT 6 27/17 and loves it but needs a longer and heavier bat. Would this 2016 Combat MAXUM be a good replacement or should we look into an Easton S3? BaseballMom
Here at www.JustBats.com, for a player with his height and weight, we would recommend using a 31" baseball bat. This 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 does come in a 31" 21 oz. model which would be both longer and heavier than the bat you are currently using now. Both the 2016 Combat MAXUM and the Easton S3 would be excellent replacements. There is no wrong choice. We have a variety of Easton S3 models including the 2016 & the 2015 models which both are offered in the 31" 21 oz. model.
John
I'm looking to buy this bat for my 10 year old. He is 5' & 90 lbs. What would be the best size for him? jneal

John
I'm looking to buy this bat for my 10 year old. He is 4'9" and 78 lbs. What would be the best size for him? Spartan Jeff
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110.
Jason
Pros and cons of single piece design composites vs. 2 piece design? Dominator
The pros of a one-piece bat is price (have a tendency to be cheaper) and stiffer (preferred more by power hitters). Pros of a two-piece bat would be more flex (better ability to control the barrel; preferred more by contact hitters) and anti-vibration reduction (connection point can help absorb and redirect stinging vibration felt from baseballs hit off end of bat or towards handle). The weighted balanced of the bat can have a tendency to be more evenly distributed within a two-piece bat.
Cameron
I am looking for a bat right now for my son, he is more of a power hitter and likes the feel of a lighter bat. He is 48" and 125 weight. My concern is spending all this money and then the bat not being that good; is there a trial period? Tigers
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 has a 30 day performance guarantee. If you are not satisfied with this bat for any reason, you can return it for a full refund or exchange within 30 days of purchase.
Angelique
I have a 10 year old at 5' and 115 lbs. What size should I get him? THOMAS
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of a 30" length model of this 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110). As long as he can handle the 20 oz weight of the 30" model of this bat, that size should be just fine for use by him!
Ben
My son is 8 and is 50 inches tall and weighs around 60 pounds. What is the best bat that will last him a few years? JQ
Based upon your son's height and weight, I would recommend using a 28" 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110.
John P.
Is this bat Dixie approved? Jeremy
Whether or not the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 is approved for play within Dixie will depend upon which division your player is in.
John P.
Would you say to get the -12 or the -10 COMBAT MAXUM? He's a great hitter, can hit power or base hits. He weighs about 95 pounds and is 10 years old. David
The correct drop to get your son in the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM Senior League Baseball Bat is really going to be based off of the current weight of bat he is swinging and how well he is handling the weight of that bat. As players grow, you will typically go up in length and the weight will increase usually as well (1 to 2 ounces with younger players is what we suggest). If a player is struggling getting the bat through the zone then it would be best to keep the same weight or even drop down 1 to 2 ounces. We always suggest communicating with a local coach who has a better idea of the player's overall bat speed and swing path when it comes to the correct weight to select. Going back to your question, if your player is currently hitting for power and average then the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 is more than likely the better pick as this bat will have more weight in the barrel; the extra 2 ounces, assuming bat speed is not changed, will allow for more power than a drop 12 model.
Cameron
Would you say to get the -12 or the -10 Combat Maxum? He's a great hitter; can hit power or base hits. He weighs about 95 pounds and is 10 years old. David
I would recommend that your player swing the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110. This would be the -10 model. The extra two ounces is going to add mass to the barrel and help generate some power behind the baseball upon contact. However, I would be cautious to make sure that the extra two ounces doesn't slow down the player's bat speed. That would be counterproductive and may result in a loss of power.
Nick

The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) and the DeMarini bats are both top quality products. The MAXUM is going to be a one-piece whereas the DeMarini bats are going to be two-piece bats so they will have different feels, but again they are both high quality options.

My son is 8 and has been swinging the Miken Freak (from last year) in a 27"/15 oz (-12). He's about 4'3" and 60 pounds. He loves his Miken, but he is starting to realize hes not covering the whole plate. I am trying to decide between this COMBAT and the CF7 from last year. They are the same price. Intended on going up to a 28". Recommendations? Bulls Dad
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend looking into getting the 28"/18 oz model of this 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110). As long as your player can handle the 18 oz weight of the 28" option of this MAXSL110, I think this will be an excellent bat for him as it has received excellent ratings so far at JustBats. I would recommend going with this MAXUM over the CF7 (especially if you like a single-piece bat).

My son swings a 30"/19 oz MAKO and he also swings an XL 30"/20 oz for slower pitchers. He is going to be moving up to 2 5/8" barrel bat. He is 5'2" and 125 lbs. Would you go -10 or -12 with a COMBAT MAXUM? jim
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommend of getting a 31" model of a Youth Big Barrel Bat. If you wanted to keep the weight the most consistent, then maybe a -12 model of the MAXUM in the 31"/19 oz size would be advantageous. However, if you feel that your player can handle the 21 oz weight of a 31 oz option of bat, a bat like this 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) would be something to consider.
Ben

My son is 12 years old, 62 inches tall, and weighs around 160 pounds. What is the best bat for him? ty
For your son's height and weight we recommend a 32" length. If your player is more of a power hitter and prefers a stiff bat, the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 would be an appropriate option. If he is more of a contact hitter, a two-piece construction may be better suited for his hitting style.
Angelique
How does the Combat Maxum compare to the DeMarini CF8? alumiu
Both the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 and the DeMarini CF8 are going to be composite bats. The difference is that ComBat Maxum is going to be a one piece bat, typically preferred by power hitters. The CF8 is going to be a two-piece bat, which a lot of the times is preferred more by contact hitters. I hope that this helps!

Can I use this in Intermediate Little League (50/70) games? f
Unfortunately, this 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL110) would not be allowed for use in the Intermediate Division of Little League Baseball. The reason is because this bat features USSSA 1.15 BPF certification and composite barrel material. The only type of bats that can feature USSSA 1.15 BPF certification in the Intermediate Division are ones that feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and have alloy barrel material.
Ben

Is this a good bat for a 9u kid pitch player? Landon's mom
The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL110 is a one-piece fully composite bat with a very balanced swing weight design thus making it a great bat to consider for a 9U player. One thing to consider is the stinging sensation from a one-piece bat on off-centered hits; this bat will not flex like a two-piece bat and so a player will feel the stinging more so than they would with a two-piece bat.
