Awesome Bat Lefty parent
Pros: Looks great, perfectly balanced, lots of pop right out of the wrapper. true size and weight, Ordered a 30/20 and it's 20 ounces on the money.
Cons: None yet had it for about two weeks
Combat Bat Review ben rodriguez All Star Coach parent
Pros: i recently purchased a combat bat for my son and the entire team love it so much they all use it. It is a great bat and I am happy to have purchased it. thank you
Cons: really nothing bad to say. it vibrates a little but i tell the kids to hit the ball on the barrel and it wont vibrate the hands
Nice bat Derrick parent
Pros: My 9yr old son has had this bat for about 2 weeks, bought him a 31/21, he has the mako also 31/20. The combat definately feels lighter, the mako seems top heavy. The combat has plenty of pop out of the box and will only get stronger. the biggest thing ive noticed is the combat hits line drives all over where the mako is more of a homerun bat. both quality bats with different results depending on the hitter.
Cons: nothing yet
no pop dennis parent
Pros: Looks good
Cons: It has no pop, my son had to borrow a bat for little league all-stars, very disappointed
Great One Piece Balanced Composite Bat with Pop! Baseball-in-WV coach
Pros: This is a high performance one piece composite bat that is very well balanced with a low swing weight. It is extremely hot out of the wrapper and even more so once broke in. It has a huge barrel and swings lighter than the equivalent -11 MAKO with equal results when the ball is hit squarely. Note: the MAKO is a great bat but is typically about two ounces heavier than advertised when put on a scale and feels a bit more top heavy than the Combat. This bat is perfect for those kids/coaches who want a true to length/weight bat that will perform just as well as the MAKO with a more balanced feel. It has outstanding performance. Try it, I think both players and coaches out there will be impressed. Great job Combat on creating a product that can truly perform with Easton!
Cons: None! Note: this bat is not end loaded and it is not a two piece bat. If you are looking for these features this is not the bat for you.
Not what is claimed Heather parent
Pros: Nice balanced feel.
Cons: Not the size it claimed to be. We ordered a 31" bat and received a bat that was labeled as 31". He used it for a while and we thought it looked just a little big for him. Then we compared it to the other bats in the dugout and realized it was actually a 32" that was mislabeled. Very frustrating. Questionable durability. Seems to lose its pop after just a couple months.
Broke during first use! Rob parent
Pros: Can't really think of any pros when the bat broke during its first time being used.
Cons: The bat cracked towards the top of the grip while my son was using it in practice for the first time! He was hitting really well with it before it broke but that doesn't really count for much when you get about 20 swings out of a $300 bat.
Great One Piece Balanced Composite Bat with Pop! CoachinWV coach
Pros: A balanced -10 one piece composite bat that has a low swing weight. 2/14" barrel with large sweet spot. This bat swings lighter than the equivalent Mako but has just as much pop. It has been a favorite in the dugout recently.
Cons: This is a one piece bat, if you are looking for a two piece composite this is not for you
littleleaguepop parent
Pros: My son has always had the Easton XL1 and Easton Mako in his batpack. He swings both with BAD INTENTIONS! I am not one to change bats companies midstream, however, have returned to COMbat. Their B1 and B2 DaBomb are the things legends are made from, however COMbat become overly conservative in their composite line the next few years (limited pop). Fast forward, my son is knocking the cover off the ball with the COMbat Maxum -10. He is driving the ball farther than his Mako and right there with the XL1. The COMbat has a larger sweet spot than the Mako and almost as much powere as the XL1, without sacrificing the balanced feel. The difference is, he hits harder shots consistently with his COMbat than XL1. This bat is a Hero maker – THE best youth bat, bar none for 2016, put it in your sons hands, you will not regret it.
Cons: No Cons – Buy this bat, allow your son the feel of confidence and success at the plate.
Great Overall!!!! Chuck parent
Pros: My son took this bat out of the wrapper and Bam He hit the ball farther then he ever has. He had a Louisville 2104 Attack 29/17 and now has the Combat Maxum drop 10. He is 4'9" and weighs 75lbs. He never really had pop to his ball until he put this bat in his hand. Now the ball just flys off the bat. He is hitting the ball to the fence now. Everyone said it looked like a softball bat cause the barrel is big almost all the way to the handle, but that is maybe the bigger sweet spot. 2 games and already hit it to the fence multiple times.
Cons: None yet.
Great Bat BB pops parent
Pros: My 8yr old loves this bat, it has pop, feels light and looks great. I'm really amazed with Combat this year they really went all out with this one.
Cons: None
Cracked on 3rd at bat Russ Emrich, MD parent
Pros: It did seem to have pop right out of the wrapper. A well balanced feel.
Cons: Barrel cracked after 1 round of hand thrown BP and 3 AB's at 73 degrees.
great bat!! best youth bat of 2016 7u travel coach coach
Pros: has a nice swing weight lighter than cf8 and mako .perfect for youth players that are contact and heavy hitters .great pop right out of the box ,nice feel ,very little vibration unless hit right on the end .biggest barrel out there . i have 2 sons that play one has heavy hands the other more of a contact hitter both grab this bat as there 1st choice . we own 3 maxum one 27"-12 ,one 28"-12 and a 28"-10 all are great you cant go wrong .
Cons: price ..but you get what you pay for .
Best bat for true hitters DOug parent
Pros: Best bat for true hitters, not power/homerun hitters. I was taught to hit like tony Gwynn, line drives/ gapers. That how I taught him and how he swings. So do you research if you kids hits for power this bat is not way to go but is still awesome. The bat is a drop ten and feels lighter then a drop 12 S1 Easton. It is perfectly balanced and one piece composite. Before I got this bat I did not realize that the S1 Easton was end weighted. Perfect bat for hitters with quick hands that swing through the zone more level. Makos are end weight and do cause the barrel and hands to drop resulting in a more upper cut swing. Great pop and not problem with vibration. My son is eight, short and stalky and uses 28 drop 10
Cons: Non so far
MAXUM Shawn parent
Pros: Swings lighter when compared to the Mako (-11) but has a larger sweet spot. Combat rep said bat is hot out of wrapper, no break in required.
Cons: Ball doesn't jump off the bat as much as the Mako (-11). This is a one piece bat so there is more vibration on mis-hits.
Great Bat...but not for strong kids Jim J parent
Pros: Feels great, sounds even better. It has a ton of pop out of the wrapper and love the lizard skin and color.
Cons: Not very durable. Now granted my kid is 5'5", 160lbs 11 year old and within 3 weeks cracked it. He's strong...bat speed in the low 80's. So if your kid is strong and swings with awful intentions, maybe not the best bat.
awsome matthew player
Pros: this bat has great pop and the vibration is even better
Cons: the general fell is not that good
Good bat but weak Jeremy parent
Pros: Great pop, big sweet spot
Cons: Only played about 8 or 9 games with this bat and the bat is cracked. 2nd one to do this.
Awsome bat Jake player
Pros: This bat has a big sweet spot and I hit my first dinger with it make sure you buy it.
Cons: The lizard skin wears down a little bit
Just ok Daddy Easton parent
Pros: - Feels very light for a -10 - Larger barrel than standard 2 1/4" bats - Comes with lizard skin grip
Cons: - Not as much pop as my son's mako I have been reading great things about Combat bats for a while so when it came time to get a new bat for my 10 yo son I figured I'd have him try it. He loved the feel, felt very light to him. Pop didn't seem great out of the wrapper but I thought it had to be broken in. He used this bat for both travel ball and house ball all spring. Just this past weekend I had him switch back to his 2015 Mako for the heck of it. Second at bat he hit his first home run over the fence. The Combat isn't a bad bat, but in my opinion the pop just doesn't compare to the Mako. We'll be sticking with Easton bats moving forward.
Son Loves this Bat Baseball Mom parent
Pros: Looks large with extra long barrel design making it easier to even get a hit on those inside pitches. Love this design and longer sweet spot. Definitely feels lighter than the Mako Torq in -10 as it's very nicely balanced. My son had predominately hit grounders with his DeMarini CF8, then he started using this bat and he consistently hits line drives up the middle. The style and design definitely work for my son. The sound this bat makes is awesome. He chooses this for game time over his Mako Torq. Love the lizard grip too!
Cons: The only con is that it's a composite and he can't use it in some leagues (who have banned composite from play). Wish Combat made this same bat in an alloy design. Jury is still out on durability, but thus far...the Mako Torq shows more wear than his Combat and he's hit more with the Combat than the Mako Torq.
Get this bat before its gone. Best bat for the $ BaseballDad coach
Pros: Very good "Pop". Balanced bat that any type of hitter can use. Largest sweet spot of all the super bats. Lizzard Skin grip is outstanding. Durable so far.
Cons: Takes close to 500 hits to break in bat will give vibration if hit on the tip or just above the hands.
Great for Batting Average Mike P coach
Pros: Well balanced feel. Great bat speed. Line drive bat. For singles, doubles hitters not for Home runs.
Cons: The 20oz. is even a little too light. Feels like 17oz.
11 yr old Loves it! Ben Lopez parent
Pros: I agree with most, the bat feels lighter than described. It does well for your contact hitter that has trouble in swinging an end loaded bat.
Cons: I think the pop not always there.
no pop Mad Dad parent
Pros: Its light.
Cons: This bat has the least pop of any bat my son has used. There is a reason it has gone from $279 to $99. The only nice thing is the bat does swing very light, but the ball goes no where. We kept thinking it just needs to be broken in. That is definitely not the problem. I never write reviews, but i guess I'm a little salty about spending almost $300 on a bat that is dead.
Great bat - huge barrel, big sweet spot Larry Griff parent
Pros: Any good bat has the same "pop", it's about barreling the ball up on the sweet spot. If you can swing a -10, this bat is fantastic. Great for handling inside pitches, the barrel is bigger than most bats, more balls hit the big part of the bat. My son says it feels like a drop 13. Make a great crack sound when you barrel one up. At the price we got this, it's a steal, this is a legit $250+ bat.
Cons: If you're used to a two piece - composite handle, alloy barrel bat, this bat will have more vibration. Less than a one piece metal bat though. It's worth it.
Great performance. My son loves it. Mabel parent
Pros: Light and balanced.
Cons: None
awesome bat little leaguer player
Pros: good pop off of the bat
Cons: not any so far
Extreme Value John T. parent
Pros: Balance, biggest sweet spot possible, feels lighter than it is, quality grip tape (doesn't have to be replaced immediately like that other brand), first one piece, first Combat, my 12 yr. old has tried and it really is a step up in how he performs at bat. With the 2 piece Mako that vibrates after one year and has no consistency on placement (yes, 3 home runs, but many more in the dirt), with this Combat, he has become a solid line drive machine. The finish durability has been heads above the other brand, too. Price is (year old, big deal, still new) phenominal, it's almost like discovering a treasure!
Cons: None so far.
e e other
Pros: this bat is a very good bat with a ton of pop.
Cons: bats may not be legal in some
