The differences between the 2016 COMBAT VIGOR BBCOR Baseball Bat (VIGAB103) compared to the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat are going to be the following: Maxum features a 500 day manufacturer's warranty and 30 day performance guarantee, a higher quality composite as well as 20-40% more hitting surface/sweet spot. The Vigor comes with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty and the composite material is not going to be of the same quality as the Maxum.

This 2016 COMBAT VIGOR BBCOR Baseball Bat (VIGAB103) and the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat (MAXAB103) will both be made in the one-piece, all-composite design. That design is very similar to the build of the Portent model used recently by your player. Both BBCOR bats are reviewed pretty well, but the MAXUM has the most positive testimony and I would recommend that model for your player.

The 2016 COMBAT VIGOR BBCOR Baseball Bat: VIGAB103 is pretty hot out of the wrapper. However, we feel the bat still benefits from about a 50-100 swing break-in period. It is best to take those swings off a tee, while gradually working your swing speed up from about 50% and you will want to rotate the barrel about a quarter turn every few swings.

There is no specific time line that any bat will have before it goes "dead". With that being said composite bats should actually never go "dead". What you heard about them getting hotter with time is true. That is the composite fibers in the bat breaking in. The more you hit with the bat the more it will break in and the fibers will spread out more and more.

As long as they are properly broken in you should not have nay problems with them breaking. To properly break in the 2016 COMBAT VIGOR BBCOR Baseball Bat (VIGAB103), we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs.

We do not have any in a 32"/29oz. You may find some on eBay or some other site that sells used options, but new options will be very hard to find. This bat performs well, and we can sell them cheap because we were able to purchase them from Combat at a lower price when they went out of business.
