Description

For 2016, Easton has brought the most expansive line of power and performance to the market with the all-new Power Brigade Series!

TCT Thermo Composite Technology is the key to the MAKO TORQ's industry-leading swing speed, massive sweet spot, and pure feel on contact. This innovative material comprises both the barrel and handle which are united by Easton's patented 2-PC ConneXion Technology. By isolating the handle from the barrel with the connection joint, energy transfer is maximized while simultaneously eliminating any unwanted vibration. The MAKO TORQ's foundation is then optimized with a higher MOI for maximum energy transfer and power! Sounds great, right? Well, the team at Easton has taken this design to a whole new level with the inclusion of the TORQ 360 Degree Rotating Handle Technology. Last season, the TORQ Handle surpassed all expectations and more-than-delivered on its promises:

Own The Inner Half: The TORQ Handle frees up your hands, allowing hitters to barrel-up the inside pitch and avoid the dreaded "jam sandwich".

Stay Inside The Ball: By getting your hands inside the ball, the TORQ promotes the best swing mechanics for more consistent, powerful contact.

Power To All Fields: TORQ Technology helps you keep the barrel on-plane longer through the hitting zone, so you can drive the ball with more backspin (to all parts of the yard).

The TORQ XL features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, -5 length to weight ratio, new TORQ TAQ Performance Grip, and the USSSA BPF 1.15 Certification. Amplify Your Power and pick up the Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 today at JustBats.com. The shipping is always free, and we're always here for you - from ClickToHit!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is there a Mako Torq XL (end-loaded) and a Mako Torq (balanced)? Seems that sometimes the "XL" is shown and other times it's not. Lonnie
Unfortunately, if you're needing a -5 length to weight ratio, there is not an Easton MAKO TORQ balanced option. The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 will be the only -5 TORQ option available and it is end loaded.
John P.
Is this bat legal for Little League in the junior league division? Greg
Unfortunately the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 cannot be used in the Junior League division as it has a composite barrel. Little League requires a composite bat to be BBCOR certified when it has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and a -5 length to weight ratio.
Angelique
Is this bat permissible in Pony baseball? ted
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 is allowed in all the different divisions of Pony Baseball.
Carter
Is this bat end loaded or balanced? Hman
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 is an end loaded bat.
Marcus
How does the barrel length on this bat compare to the Easton MAKO XL -5? Sam
The barrel on the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 is going to be slightly shorter (maybe 1/4") than the barrel on the Easton MAKO XL -5.
Marcus
Are there any evenly distributed -5 bats? I am trying to avoid end loaded bats. East_Ridger
There are many bats in the drop -5 category that will feature a balanced swing weight design. If you are looking at Easton products, as long as you do not see "XL" in the product heading then it would be a balanced bat. To check on the properties of other bats, would suggest looking over the bat features section as the weight distribution will be described within.
Cameron
Is there a difference between the SL16MKT5 and the SL16MK5 besides the TORQ handle? I have two boys that are playing in 14U club ball this year and I'm looking at buying the bat pack of these two models. Lantz
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 and the 2016 Easton MAKO XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MK5 have the exact same features aside from the TORQ rotating handle. Both bats have a two-piece, fully composite construction with an end-loaded swing weight, 2 5/8" barrel diameter, and a -5 length to weight ratio.
Angelique
I'm a 13 year old boy who needs a -5 for my travel league. Is this a good bat for me? cameron
I would recommend considering this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MKT5) as long as you are wanting a bat that has a two-piece, all-composite design; a TORQ handle; and an end-loaded swing weight. For most 13 year olds, we are suggesting a 31" or 32" size of bat and we have both of those sizes available for this bat. As long as you can handle the resulting weight of a specific bat length, you should be good to get that length of bat.
Ben
Is there a MAKO TORQ in a -5 that isn't an XL? Scott
Unfortunately Easton did not produce a -5 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ in a balanced model.
Angelique
What does "XL" mean for this bat? matt
For the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5, and any other Easton "XL" bat, the "XL" indicates that this bat is end loaded (or end heavy).
Marcus
I'm 5'4" and 13 years old. Should I get a 31" or 32"? jon
For most 13 year old players, we usually suggest a Youth Big Barrel bat in the 31" length. As long as you feel the 26 oz weight of the 31" bat will be the best size for you, I would recommend that size option of this MAKO TORQ XL.
Ben
Is this a drop 5? mason
Yes, the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 is a drop 5 model.
Cooper
Is there a break in period for this bat? Is there a minimum temperature this bat should be used in? Rick
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 has a composite barrel that will require some break-in. We recommend about 50 swings either off of a tee or by soft toss with a ¼" rotation of the barrel after each swing. We do not recommend using this bat in temperatures below 60 degrees.
Angelique
Is this bat okay for use in New York state high school ball? James Masker
If NFHS is the governing body for high school baseball in New York, then this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MKT5) will not be allowed for use as it does not feature BBCOR certification that is required for use in high school under NFHS rules.
Ben

Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 in a 32 inch 27 ounce model.
Cameron
I am 6 ft 1 in and weigh around 170 pounds. What size do you think I would be most fit for? need a bat
Based off of your height and weight we recommend using a 33" in the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5.
Cooper

Since this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MKT5) features composite material and the USSSA 1.15 certification, it will not be permitted for use in the 50/70 Division of Little League baseball.
Ben

The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MKT5) is is Senior League bat and will work for you until you need to use a BBCOR bat in high school. So it would last you two years.
Carter
I'm 12, 5'4, and 105 lbs. Would this be the right bat? I know that 26 ounces might be a stretch but i'm confident i can use it without issues. Is this a good choice for my size and weight? Billy Joey
Yes, the 31" 26 oz size for the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT5 is going to be a really good option for you.
Sean
I'm a 6'2" freshman in high school. i have the Mako Xl (not Torq) for BBCOR and really like it. Would you recommend using the 2016 mako xl or the 2016 mako torq XL for teavel ball this summer? jake
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MKT5) is going to be the same bat as the 2016 Easton MAKO XL Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MK5) rather than the Torq handle. So if your Mako XL is working fine I would recommend sticking with that.
