The 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB16S310B) has thinner barrel walls and is designed for coach pitch. You will run into durability issues if you decide to use this bat for kid pitch. My recommendation would be to use a senior league bat.

The 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB16S310B is a great bat for use in coach pitch or machine pitch when the velocity is less than 40 MPH. We would imagine that would be the case with this league/team. If the velocity exceeds 40 MPH then this bat will not hold up for long.

I would recommend the 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB16S310B or the 2016 Easton MAKO Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB16MK12B for any young coach pitch players. Both are great bats.

My son is 8 and will be playing kid pitch this spring. Is this bat appropriate? If not, which Easton would you suggest? jacob
This 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB16S310B) will be designed for coach pitch and machine pitch leagues. I am not certain that the barrel walls would be able to withstand the velocities sometimes thrown in kid pitch baseball. To get a bat that I would suggest more, I would recommend taking a look at the 2016 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16S310B).

The 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB16S310B is not designed to hold up to kid pitch. It is designed for tee ball or coach pitch. If you are looking for something that will hold up to kid pitch, you will want to look at youth or senior league bats.

The 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB16S310B is a great bat for a 6U player who is in coach pitch. The 2 3/4" barrel diameter as well as the thinner barrel walls will allow a younger player to generate some power with the slower velocity they will be seeing. Once a player starts to see velocity over 40 MPH then we would not recommend a Junior Big Barrel bat as they are prone to denting and cracking at the higher velocities.
