Description

The Marucci Hex revolutionized what was attainable with a composite bat design, and now hitters who prefer the traditional feel and sound of a fully Alloy construction can wield that same ground-breaking technology you find only in Marucci bats! The Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 may look like a typical one-piece Alloy design, but under its electric neon green and silver paint scheme, this bat is truly innovative. Each MYBHA12 is forged from Marucci's new AZ4X Alloy and is individually tuned for optimum performance in each length it is produced. The Hex's barrel provides the maximum barrel length, and it is also ring-free which only maximizes the trampoline effect a hitter can create. The ultra-soft micro-perforated comfort grip and sting-free ergonomic knob round off this premium design by improving feel and control while reducing vibration. Marucci: Honor The Game!

Great bat for the price. Chris Valencia coach

Pros: We've tried so many bats in the last couple years (Easton, Louisville, Portent) that I feel that I can give you an honest assessment of this bat. It really is Sting-Free, the grip is outstanding, and distance it's added to my sons hits is quite impressive. Bang for your buck, this is the bat to get.

Cons: None yet.

Good Bat Gary player

Pros: Bat sounds good feels really balanced only thing i changed was the grip for lizard skin. I would say it's a cross between swinging a XL3 and a voodoo overlord plenty of swings of it so far very little vibration if any and the ball does jump of this bat highly recommend this bat.

Cons: None so far

Great bat all around Jeffrey M coach

Pros: Have had the senior league Marucci hex and it is an awesome bat so decided to try the youth bat for league. Great pop right out of the wrapper, balls have very good velocity and the sound is one of a kind. Have had Many different bats throughout the last 4 years of travel and league ball and this is the best so far!!! Highly recommend

great bat Blake parent

Pros: HOT!!! right out the box love the pop. My son is 4'8 and 80lbs at 10 swings the 28"18 and is hitting balls off the fence, he has not put one out yet but 5-6 off 200' fences

Cons: think it could be a little stronger on the durability side feels to be starting to dent, don't get me wrong its lasted a while 4-5 practices a week 7-8 tournaments and several kids using it on the team that's why i gave it a 4 i think it held up well for what we put it through

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is it 2 5/8? brian
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter.
John P.
Is this more of a balanced bat or end-loaded? How would it compare to the Louisville Slugger Omaha? Thanks! Paul
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat (MYBHA12) is going to be a balanced design. The Hex Alloy and the Louisville Slugger are both very nice models. The Omaha will be an ounce lighter compared to the Hex Alloy but the Hex Alloy will have a longer barrel.
John
Is this bat approved for play in Little League? Scott
Yes, this 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat (MYBHA12) will be approved for play in all divisions of Little League baseball except for the Senior and Big Divisions.
Ben
How big is the barrel? nico
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat (MYBHA12) features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter.
Jake
My 9 yr old is 95lbs and 4'8", what size would be best? Seth
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 30" bat. That would be a 30" 18 oz. bat in this particular model of the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12.
Nick
How does this bat compare to the 2016 COMBAT Portent G4 Youth Baseball Bat: PG4YB112? I'm trying to decide on a bat for my 7 yr old son and these are two that are close in price but not sure if one is much better than the other. BV
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 is a one-piece alloy design while the 2016 COMBAT Portent G4 is a one-piece composite design. Both bats would be an excellent option it is just going to come down to whether your player prefers aluminum or composite.

I am looking at three bats: (Marucci Hex Alloy, Marucci Cat 6 and Louisville Slugger Omaha). My son is close to turning 9 years old and is 60 lbs. What should I get? New BB mom
For 9 year olds, we typically suggest going with a 30" model of a Youth bat (2 1/4" barrel diameter). This 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat (MYBHA12) has a -12 length-to-weight ratio and if you feel your player can handle the 18 oz weight of a 30" model of this bat, I might recommend this Hex. The Omaha 516 (YBO5163) will be a little lighter as it has a -13 length-to-weight ratio. A 30" model of the Omaha 516 would weigh 17 oz. The Cat 6 will not have an available option with a 2 1/4" barrel diameter. If the 2 1/4" barrel diameter is necessary, I would avoid the Cat 6.
Ben
My son is turning 9 next month. He is 4'2'' and 64 pounds. What size bat do you recommend? Rich
For your son's height and weight we recommend using a 28" bat.
Angelique
My 8 year old is 49" tall and 53 lbs. What size/weight do you recommend? DM
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 28" 16 oz model of the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12.
Jason
My grandson is 11 years of age in November and is 5'2" in height and 107 lbs. Was told to get a 31" bat but unsure on weight? What length and weight do you suggest? He has good batting skills already. Ron
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 in a 31 inch model. As for the weight, we would recommend consulting with a local coach. Depending on how he is currently handling the weight of bat most recently used will determine whether you should go up in weight, stay the same or drop down. Things to consider would be bat speed and bat path when determining the right route for the weight.
Cameron
I was going to purchase this bat in the 29" size, but it's not available. My kid is 10 yrs old, 4'6" tall and 70 lbs. He is right on the bubble for a 29" or 30" bat. Would you recommend a different bat in the 29" length, or go with this one in 30" length? Bob
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting a bat in the 29" length. However, if you are wanting something that he can grow with as he gets bigger, I think a 30" model will be best. If you think the 18 oz weight of the 30" option of this bat will be optimal for use by your player, then I think that size of this Hex will be great. If you check out the reviews, you'll see that just about everyone is extremely satisfied with this bat.
Ben
Do this bat need to be broken in if so how do it take to break in cliff
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 will not need any break in period. It will be ready to go right out of the wrapper.
Carter
Will this bat be legal for play in 2018 for Little League? Nick
No, the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat (MYBHA12) will not be approved for play in Little League starting 2018. For 2018 Little League will require all bats to feature the USA Baseball stamp on the taper of the bat which this bat does not feature.
John
What is the diameter of this bat and does it have USSSA stamp? amy
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter and will feature the USSSA stamp.
Cameron
Will this be back in stock soon? bob
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 is a discontinued model and we will not be getting anymore in from Marucci.
Cameron
Does this bat have lizard skin on it? David
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 features a stock grip from Marucci, the ultra-soft micro-perforated grip. One would have to purchase a Lizard Skin grip tape and put it on if that is what the consumer is seeking.
