Description

For the last two years, the Rawlings TRIO has been on the field for the biggest game in Division 1 Baseball: the College World Series Championship; and now it's back for The Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRT3 blends the most advanced technologies Rawlings has to offer into one, sleek, and explosively powerful package. This bat gets its name from the TRIO Three-Piece Technology. In what looks like a standard one-piece design, the TRIO is actually composed of a durable composite handle, high-powered 5150 Alloy, and a Comp-Lite composite end cap. This unique, seamless construction gives hitters the ultimate combination: The forgiveness and vibration reducing characteristics found in bats with composite handles - An almost ear-piercing "ping" on contact that reminds of some of the best (BESR) bats we've ever swung - And possibly the best blend of sweet spot and low MOI you can find with an alloy barrel. By adding in the new Precision-Optimized Performance (pOp 2.0) Barrel Technology, Rawlings is able to further isolate any excess weight to smaller regions of the barrel. This is a huge factor with the strict BBCOR regulation, and allows the bat to meet all requirements while producing additional barrel flex and extending the sweet spot up to 25%!

The Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRT3 is BBCOR Certified for High School and Collegiate play, and it's backed by a full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pick up your own Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRT3 today, with Fast, Free Shipping, at JustBats.com.

Bat is endladed! Dean Parent

Pros: Tremendous pop that hits bombs ! Huge barrel and sweet spot .

Cons: listed as balanced but is endloaded. I bought it a while ago thinking it was balanced. It was not and too heavy for my son at the time . My son has grown and gotten stronger with his work outs . We had forgotten about this bat but finally decided to try it out again . Man, can this bat deliver bombs ! His main bat now !

What's the difference between the 2016 Trio and 2015 model? TRich
The difference between the 2016 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRT3) and the 2015 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) is going to be the Comp-Lite Composite End Cap - Removes Unnecessary Weight and Improves Balance. Other than that, the two bats are identical.
Cameron

I am 5'10" and I weigh 173 pounds. I love a bat that feels good at contact and doesn't have a dead sound to it. I am a contact guy that can also hit for power. I was wondering what the difference is between the Rawlings TRIO, the Rawlings VELO, and the Rawlings 5150. It's hard to tell the difference looking at the pictures and videos online. So I was wondering if you had any insight for me on the difference between the three bats and if you had a suggestion as to what would fit me the best. Thanks! Sammy
All three bats, the 2016 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRT3, the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 and the 2016 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBR53 would be good options for a player that is both a contact and power hitter. All three bats feature an alloy barrel which will give the bat the "ping" sound on impact. With that said, the three bats will have some subtle differences. The TRIO will be the only bat that will have half and half technology. This means the bat will have a composite handle and alloy barrel. The TRIO will have the largest sweet spot of the three and will be more evenly balanced when compared to the VELO and 5150 models. The VELO will be slightly more balanced and feature a larger sweet spot than the 5150. All three bats will have a balanced swing weight.
Cameron

Which bat would be better for a contact hitter? The trio or cf7? Max
Both the 2016 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRT3 and the DeMarini CF7 would be an excellent option for a contact hitter as they both feature an extremely balanced swing weight. The main difference between the two is the fact that this TRIO features an alloy barrel while the CF7 features a composite barrel.

which bat is better the Trio or the louisville slugger 916 prime? Tyler
Both the 2016 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRT3) and the 2016 Louisville Slugger Prime 916 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9163) are both going to be very high performing bats. The Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRT3) is going to feature a three piece hybrid bat, that means that it will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The 2016 Louisville Slugger Prime 916 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9163) is going to feature a three piece fully composite design. Both are great bats and is going to come down to whether or not you want the composite barrel vs the alloy barrel.

What diffrence if any is there between the 2016 Velo and the 2016 Trio, other than the composite handle on the Trio, and what purpose dose having a composite handle serve Catfish
The biggest difference between the 2016 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRT3 and 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 is the design. The 2016 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRT3 features the three-piece design with the alloy barrel and composite handle, whereas the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 features the one-piece fully alloy design. The three-piece design allows for more flex in the barrel, than the one-piece design. The three-piece design also reduces vibration when coming in contact with the ball.

Last year i used this bat and loved it what really stuck out to me was the stiffness of this bat. Sadly rawlings isnt making it anymore due to the fact that the quatro is taking its place. How does this bat compare to the new quatro in terms of feel? DingerDerbyKid
I do not think that the new 2017 Rawlings Quatro BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB7Q4) is going to be very comparable to the 2016 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRT3). The new Quatro is a little bit more balanced than the Trio in my opinion. The Quatro is also composite while the Trio featured an aluminum barrel giving it a very different feel.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
