The new Anderson Ignite senior league bat features a complete redesign of Anderson's popular single wall alloy technology. The Ignite is designed to maximize Anderson's all-metal alloy, with a shape that optimizes the player's swing. This new alloy has a greater yield value and added strength that allows a lighter, more responsive, and larger Effective Hitting Area (EHA). Reducing the weight in the EHA, while maintaining the strength necessary to withstand impact, allows for greater design versatility including a significantly reduced Moment of Inertia (MOI). Optimizing the MOI makes it possible for players to swing the bat faster, with less effort. The Ignite is topped off with a TrueFlex End Cap that is designed to increase barrel strength and aid in vibration managment. Also helping eliminate annoying vibrations is the TaperFlex Contour which uses a proprietary combination of design mapping and wall-thickness tuning to prevent energy from escaping the barrel. Furthermore, an SG-I Sport Grip absorbs any stray shockwaves that might make it down to the ultra-thin whip handle. Pros: Great pop. Bat is very balanced. Looks great. Son has hit 2 home runs with it.

Cons: The barrel in really short. Sweet spot not as big as other bats in this category.

Pros: The thin barrel tapering to a slender handle makes for a sensible, easy to swing design. Some aluminum bats have too loud of a sound. At impact this one has a pleasing, muted sound. High quality, made in the USA product here. Buy it!

Pros: This bat has a good feel, my son is 9 and he is hitting the ball better than he did with the Easton S3. When you find the sweet spot the ball flies hard. The bat has a great sound, sounds more like a composite bat than aluminum. I will buy Anderson again, great deal and so far great quality.

Cons: I would like the barrel to be a little longer but then again the short barrel is teaching him better mechanics because he has a smaller area to put on the ball so it really isn't a con to me.

The Ignite is a 1 piece all metal alloy bat, as is the KXR, so yes, it will have the loud ping sound.

Does this ignite 2 5/8 bat have as much pop as the Nanotek? is a minus 10 Nanotek in the making for 2012? Thank you chachi

The Nanotek will perform just a little better than the Ignite based on customer feedback. However, the Iginite is a great performing bat in the $200 price range. There will not be a -10 Senior league Nanotek this year.

Is this bat a direct replacement for the KXR or is it just the closest? No more KXR -8? Any plans for a senior league Nanotek -8? thank you! Frank the Tank

The Anderson Ignite did not replace the KXR. Unfortunately, we are sold out of the KXR -8 and will not be getting any more in stock. We have not received the specs from Anderson's upcoming line, but I do not believe they have plans to release a new KXR.

Which is a better bat for an 11 year old power hitter, the Anderson Ignite Senior League or the Marucci Team Senior League? cant hit if you dont swing

Since both the Anderson Ignite Senior League and the Marucci Team Senior League are very similar, they are both very light weight and balanced bats. I would purchase the Marucci Team, ithas the new AZ3000 Aerospace alloy which is ultimately designed more for a power hitter.

Will the 29 inch be a good size for my 8 year old? He is playing on a competitive pony travel league. He is approximately 54 inches tall and weighs 68 pounds. Erin

Based on your player's height and weight, the 29 inch size of the Anderson Ignite (IXR8) would be a good size. The -8 length to weight ratio may be a bit heavy if the player does not have good swing strength already.

About the Brand

A High-Tech Engineer, a Sales Manager for a chemical company, and a Professional Yacht Racer with a background in mechanical engineering are not likely to have much in common. But they did, and still do. You guessed it…SOFTBALL.

Our passion for “Diamond” sports goes back many years, but it was about 10 years ago that we started manufacturing and private labeling our bats for other companies. In 1999, Steven Anderson designed a new multi-wall high-performance bat that featured our patented “Power Arch” technology. After thorough testing, it was ready for the company that we designed it for, but they were going through a transition period and were not ready to move on it.

Here was the bummer, our team was counting on using these bats in a big tournament that was just a month away and we could not put their graphics on the bats until the deal between the two of us was inked.

Steven offered a solution … they are already certified by the governing bodies so why don’t we put our own graphics on them and use them in the tourney. What a great idea and that is exactly what we did.

I was driving to the plant the next morning wearing my championship “T” shirt and had no idea that when I arrived at 6:30 am that the message machine would be filled and the phones would be ringing. The messages and the calls were all basically the same … “How do I get my hands on one of those new Anderson Techwraps”?

That is how it started, and since then we have released the FlexTech, FastTech, RocketTech, TechZilla, Pyrotech, and we are not done.
