Yes, this is a very nice bat for freshmen. It is nicely balanced, has great pop and you have the added free gift of a wood bat, great for colder weather games. The Ax handle takes a little getting used to, but is nice once you do.

The Axe Element BBCOR features Axe's signature handle. Because of the handle you will be hitting in roughly the same spot on the bat every time instead of spreading hits over the entire barrel which could reduce the lifetime of the bat.
