Yes, the 51CALAB1 is going to be legal for high school.
My son is 13, 5'11" and 129 pounds. Never used a 3 drop before and will have to next year in high school. What would be a good size for him to make the transition? He was using a 32/22 before.
If your son doesn't have to use a -3 oz. BBCOR bat until next year, it may be a good idea for him to start swinging a Senior League bat in a -5 oz. drop. Your son will then only have to adjust to a 2 ounce difference next year instead of making the huge leap from -10 to -3. Based off of his height and weight, the suggested length for your son is a 31" bat.
My Grandson is 14,6-1 170lbs. What size bat do you recommend? He's a freshmen and likes the Combat 52 Caliber. He has been hitting a 33-30oz in practice.
