The sweet for both of these bats are going to be the same size. There is not going to be a difference in the sweet spot in the -10 and -12 bats.

Both bats are a great options, that main difference between the B3 and the B4 is going to be that the B4 has more durability than the B3, the pop should be very similar between the two

That really just depends on what size you are looking for. The 3 bats for one player are not always going to be the best 3 bats for another, it really just depends on the players personal preference

The main difference between the retro and the origional is that the retro is USSSA approved and the origional B3 is not

COMBAT produced the B3 gear before the new rules and regulations came out. To meet the new requirements they came up with the B3 Gear Retro to meet those requirements.

Because of the timing of the ruling for the new USSSA sticker, some bats had already been on the market. They are USSSA approved, they just have the original stamp, which is being grandfathered in. So this bat will be approved for 2012.

Yes, most senior league bat leagues will require the USSSA 1.15 stamp on the barrel of the bat. This is something that the league that you are playing in will look for.

This bat is legal for Little League play in 2012. However, this bat does not have the new USSSA stamp that is being required in 2013. This bat has the old stamp, which is being grandfathered in for the 2012 season.

Never bought a new composite bat. Most of the comments mention a break in period. What is the typical time frame/usage needed to break in a bat like the Gear Retro B3? Scott
We typically recommend taking about 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss and starting out at about 40% power and gradually increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure are using the same balls you would normally use in a game and rotate the barrel about 1/4 of an inch in between each hit to ensure an even break in all around the barrel.

Is this bat legal for use in Dizzy Dean baseball for 2013? It is 1.15 bpf, but it doesn't have a USSSA stamp on it that says so. We have one and would like to order another, but want to make sure. scott
The GEARYB2 is legal under Dizzy Dean's 2012 rules. They have not released an official publication for what their 2013 rules will be, but they should abide by the same rules. The GEARYB2 does not have the new USSSA stamp, but this does not matter for Dizzy Dean.

We do not have the capability to apply the USSSA stamp. This process is handled directly through the manufacture..
