The technology in the bat helps add power, yet reduce the amount of vibration that can reach the hitters hands. The composite on this bat is hot right out of the wrapper. The 2013 COMBAT Derby Boys 275 Slowpitch Softball Bat will be approved for all leagues. They both will be constructed exactly the same.

How would you compare the Worth Mayhem ASA and this bat? I'm just playing in a few leagues at Happy Rock and want a semi-competitive bat without breaking the bank. Thanks for the advice. Nick
The 2013 COMBAT Derby Boys ASA: DB427SP3 Slow Pitch bat and the 2013 Worth Mayhem BJ Fulk: SBMABJ Slow Pitch bat are pretty similar. Both bats will be one-piece all composite designs. The Worth Mayhem will be very balanced and require a period of break-in. The Derby Boys ASA will not require a period of break-in due to COMBAT's Separation Barrier Technology. Either bat would be a great choice for ASA play.

The 2013 COMBAT Derby Boys ASA: DB427SP3 Slow Pitch has the new ASA stamp, so it is designed for the lower compression softballs (50 COR and 52 COR). Using this bat with the high compression softballs will make it more susceptible to cracking.

A current bat that would be most similar to the COMBAT Derby Boys ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: DB427SP3 would be the Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SPSYMU. This would offer the same one piece composite construction and large sweetspot offered on the COMBAT Derby Boys ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: DB427SP3. However, the Izzy Psycho will have a half ounce end load, but most players felt the Derby Boys was slightly end loaded as well. The Izzy Psycho is also a USSSA bat, so lower COR, higher compression balls would be ideal.
