The 2013 COMBAT Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 Adult feels more like a two-piece bat, which are best suited for contact hitters. Stiffer bats like the COMBAT B4 Portent are better for a power hitter. Both are balanced bats.

The 2013 COMBAT Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 is a one-piece composite bat. The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 is a two-piece composite bat. The XL1 will be just a little more endloaded as well.

How does this bat compare to last years B3AB1 and 2013 B4 Portent? Had very good success with the B3. I'm more of line drive/contact hitter but also hit for power. Is the barrel of the Pure longer than the B4? Toby
The COMBAT Pure BBCOR has gear technology which is used inside the bat to give the Pure BBCOR a softer feel and greater performance on hits toward the taper. The Portent and B3 do not feature this technology. The COMBAT B4 Portent features Separation Barrier Technology for hot out of the wrapper performance. The Pure and B3 do not feature this technology. The Pure will have a barrel that is similar in length to the B4 Portent.

Both the 2013 COMBAT Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 Adult and the COMBAT B3 AB BBCOR: B3AB1 Adult are both excellent bats with great pop. The 2013 COMBAT Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 Adult uses gear technology, which makes the bat have more flex and less vibration than the COMBAT B3 AB BBCOR: B3AB1 Adult.

The 2013 COMBAT Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 Adult is similar to the 52 Caliber in that both featured a one-piece fully composite design, which is great for power hitting. The COMBAT Pure has a balanced swing weight typically preferred by contact hitters, versus the end-loaded swing weight in the 52 Caliber. There is not a newer version of the 52 Caliber, COMBAT only came out with the Wanted and the Portent for 2014.

The 2013 COMBAT Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 Adult bat would definitely be a great bat selection. At your size some other great bats for power would be Easton's XL-Series or the DeMarini Voodoo Series.
