Description

New for Rick Spike Baker and COMBAT have teamed up once again to bring players another bat to take their performance to the next level! This isn't just any old COMBAT though. This TWO-PIECE design is unlike any COMBAT slow pitch bat that has come before it. A fully composite handle and barrel are centered around COMBAT's new Handle Isolation Technology (HIT) that uses polymeric visco-elastic dampeners to isolate the ultra-light handle from the high performance double-wall barrel. HIT effectively eliminates vibration from reaching the hands, giving players a soft, damped feel without compromising performance! Even though the design is new, the composite material itself hasn't changed. COMBAT uses their Blended Fiber Technology (BFT) - a combination of carbon and glass fibers - to produce one of the hottest bats on the market! Nanocomp Technoloy is then added to fill in the microscopic gaps in the composite material by using a liquid resin to increase the Spiked's strength and durability. In addition, players can expect the Spiked to be hot out of the wrapper due to Separation Barrier Technology that allows free movement between the barrel walls for maximum performance right away! COMBAT: For Players, By Players! The Spiked 98 is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: huge sweet spot, tons of pop, hot out of the wrapper, didnt take long to get used to it. Looks cool, and feels good when you swing it.

Cons: After about 100 or so hits the paint started chipping, after 200 the paint was falling off in sections, it looks like its a sticker, paint issue. Other than that its amazing!

If I love hitting with the Anti-Virus 280z. Which of your bats would you recommend the Spike or the Pure bat? TT
The COMBAT Spiked 98 will be similar to the Anit-Virus. Both are two piece balanced bats. The Pure is a one piece bat and will be stiffer than the COMBAT Spiked 98.

has there been an issue with the stickering and paint on the spiked 98? mine seems to be pealing off in little spots all over. Thanks the dood
This isn't a common occurence with the Spiked 98. That is something that would be covered under the 12 month manufacturers warranty, but if it doesn't affect the performance of the bat, I would wait to utilize the warranty if something major happens to the bat.

Is this bat designed specifically for the new ASA ball? If not what would you recommend? Sleeping Bear
The COMBAT Spiked 98: SPIKSP3 Slow Pitch bat is not ASA only. This 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat is approved for play in ASA only. It is currently the most popular bat in its category. We currently have all 34" models ranging from 26 oz-30 oz. It will be a very balanced design. This bat is a one-piece all composite design.
