DeMarini Bustos Fastpitch Softball Bat: DXBFP review by M. Dahl
Pros: Great pop evenly distribution of weight for a even quick swing for the younger player. Two piece so it does not sting. Hot right out of the wrapper. Used the older model (green bat) and loved it, once my daughter needed a longer bat we bought this one, was the same bat just at the length she needed. Cons:Haven't had any yet. The warmer the weather the more pop.

At what age/size/weight will you really reap benefits from composite softball bats over alloy bats?

It would not necessarily be a certain age or size that would see more benefit from composite bats over alloy models like the DeMarini Bustos Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXBFP) but rather what you are wanting out of the bat. If you think she may be using the bat for a longer time without outgrowing it, it may be time to switch. The main difference is that we tend to see composite bats last a bit longer at their peak level of performance than the alloy models do. Basically, at their best they will perform to roughly the same level but you get a longer time that it would perform at that level with composite models.

About DeMarini

DeMarini In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater." In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini.... read more
