Description

What happens when science meets psychosis? A chaotic design, chaotic speed, chaotic power... nd total anarchy! The new CF5 BBCOR uses all new technology to produce a finished product that can do some serious destruction on the diamond! Constructing the CF5 using their new TR3 F.L.O. Composite, DeMarini has successfully created their lightest swinging bat yet. TR3 F.L.O. (which stands for Fused Layer Optimized) is a cutting edge material that is the result of the random and naturally chaotic fusing of carbon fibers. This creates a more compact carbon that enables DeMarini to make the new CF5 lighter and stronger than ever before. The stronger design allows for more even weight distribution, which in turn produces faster bat speeds! This two-piece fully composite design uses Doublewall technology to give it maximum trampoline effect with the largest sweetspot possible! DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweetspot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The CF5 also features a Geo End Cap that's focus is on keeping the barrel stiff and not letting energy escape through the end of the bat. This gives each and every hit an extra blast of energy. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The CF5 is BBCOR Certified and legal for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: I gotta tell you, this bat, man, this is the bast bat I have ever used. This bat is extremely nice looking, and finally a bat that isn't over priced even at $400.00. This bat is not heavy at all, and hits like a BESR approved bat, not BBCOR. DO NOT buy the other CF5 because it is cheaper, this is a much better bat!

Cons: Nothing at all!

Pros: this is the best bat I have ever used. I have iused the Easton s1 bbcor, the 2012 voodoo, combat b2, and none of those bats even compare to the cf5. I swung the cf5 and Easton s1 and they have about the same swing weight except the cf5 has a much bigger barrel. This bat makes a really cool sound when u hit the ball. Even if you don't hit tue ball on the sweet spot the ball still goes far! Worth every penny!

Pros: The bat just arrived in the mail and it is sooooooooo freaking awesome. The grip is the nicest ive seen. Its not too slick but not too rough. And, its perfectly balanced. Also, im so happy i dont have to worry about breaking it in. i couldnt stop smiling when i opened the package. I would definitely suggest this bat.

Cons: It came with a scratch but im not too concerned about that.

Pros: I just used the bat the other day for the first time. I didn't think much of this bat until I started to hit. This bat has amazing pop! I'm 13 and in junior league and I swung this bat easily. I've used the B3 , XL3 , and the Voodoo all in BBCOR models and by far , this is my favorite.

Cons: Bat is expensive , but well worth the price!

Pros: First off, everyone looking to buy a bat should know this is easily the best Demarini bat since the CF3 (one of my all time favorites, shame its illegal). This hits more like an old BESR because its composite, and its better any other BBCOR i've ever experienced, including all of the Easton Power Brigade series, the disappointing 2012 CF5, Voodoo, Nike, and the Easton Omen. Do NOT settle for the 2012 CF5 just because its cheaper, the new model is far in a way the best bat on the market right now. The grip is perfect, not too slippery, and the balance makes my 33"30' feel like a 32"29'. If you can afford a $400 bat, this should be your pick. Well played Demarini, you have set the bar high once again.

Cons: Very expensive, but still worth it

Pros: It was great for a few months and then went dead.... Florida heat? or poor product? lemon?

Cons: The warranty is a joke. The 3 reasons for returning are fine but if you purchase a "dead" bat or after a few months the bat goes flat/dead they will not accept it and your out $399.00 just like me. My son is 14 yoa; plays travel ball and high school. Easton will honor the customer!!!!

Pros: The appearance was what I liked initially plus the fact that I needed a more balanced bat to fit my needs. I got the bat for a birthday present and have been breaking it in and have only played on ball game with it. I Hit the ball fairly well but still getting use to these BBCOR bats. The more I use it doing tee work and other batting drills it's getting more broken in. I like the bat so far.

Cons: Paint chips easily and scratches, but don't all baseball bats if you are using them? Cost for my parents was an issue but if it allows me to maintain a good swing then they say it was worth it.

Demarini 101

Pros: Balance, balance, balance. I have never used or picked up a bat with such a light swing weight. While the S1 is so renowned for their light swing weight, the CF5 is even more balanced. This bat flies through the zone and allows solid contact almost all the time.

Cons: Very difficult to get used to. Your timing gets slightly thrown off when your bat speed is so quick but after a week or so the ball started jumping off the bat.

Mr. Bat

Pros: None

Cons: Purchased this bat for my son who plays high school baseball. He went to a bat store that had demos of tons of bats and hit them all and he hit this bat great in the cage/demo. But after purchase of a brand new version of that bat he never hit well. Used in several games, batting practice even with his hitting coach. NONE of his fellow teammates could hit this bat. The performance was just not there. It was a "Dead Bat". I even contacted the factory and told them I thought it was defective and sent it back to them for their "Official Testing" and they came back with "Everything was ok" but still No results when my son used the bat. Stay away from this bat and don't waste the money. Now going to ebay to sell the bat as a Used Bat.

Great bat Trav player

Pros: When they say this bat has a light swing weight, they mean it! This bat can be used by any type of player. You do not need to sacrifice swing speed with this big barreled bat, unlike many other bats on the market with giant sweet spots. The sweet spot is giant on the cf5, its really hard to hit a ball off of it that doesnt feel good. I dont have much at all to complain about this bat, I love it.

Cons: Takes 100-200 swings off the tee or soft toss to get broken in. That's what you'll have to do with any composite barreled bat, not a big deal at all though.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What's the difference between the 2013 and the 2012 versions of the CF5 BBCOR? Brett
The biggest difference is the switch from TR3 STRUT Composite to TR3 F.L.O. Composite that allows the CF5 have a lighter swing weight and be stronger than ever before.
Patrick
Is the 31 inches and 28 oz a drop 3? DodgersFan
You are correct. You basically take the length (31 inches) minus the weight (28 ounces) to get the drop. All adult bats will be a -3.
Jennifer
How would you compare this bat to the Easton S1? Which bat do you think performs better? billy bob
The Easton S1 and the DeMarini CF5 are very similar bats. They are both two-piece composite bats with great pop. They will perform just about the same. Either bat would be a great pick!
Jennifer
Is this bat balanced or end loaded? Mac
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR is very balanced. It does not have an end loaded feel to it.
Jennifer
What's the difference between this bat and the Easton XL1? Reido
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR will be balanced. The Easton XL1 BBBOR is an end loaded bat.

I am 14 years old and about 6 foot 148 pounds. What size should I get? And should I buy the Easton S1 or the CF5? I am a mixture of a power and contact hitter Mac3
Based on your height and weight, a 33 inch adult bat is recommended. The S1 is Easton's top of the line bat. The CF5 is DeMarini's top of the line bat. Both have great pop. The S1 will have a slightly lighter swing weight than the CF5. If you have average or below average swing speed, I would recommend the S1. If you have above average swing speed, I would recommend the CF5.
Tyler
If I'm just starting out in high school baseball would this be a good bat for me? np
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR is a balanced bat, perfect for someone starting out in high school. For exact sizing check out our bat coach; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Kara
Does the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR have better pop than any other DeMarini BBCOR bat? Zack
Since the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is the most expensive bat DeMarini manufactures, it will have the most pop.
Zach
I am about 5'1 110 pound and more of a contact hitter. Would this bat be good for me kade1323
The DXCFC is a very good bat for your height and weight. It has a good balanced feel to it with a lot of pop.
Sean
Is this bat better than the Marruci Black? IrishSwagg
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 DXCFC is going to be one of the best bats on the market. This bat is going to have some of the newest technology used on the market. This bat will have great pop and durability.
Carter
Does this bat require a break in period?? Zack
Yes, the DeMarini CF5 would require a break in period because it has a composite barrel. We recommend taking 150-200 swings off a tee or soft toss. Make sure you remember to rotate the barrel about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to fully break in the composite fibers.
John
How does this bat differ from the previous version? Did it change much? thunder23
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is more stiff and end loaded than the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR. It also uses new X10 alloy for a stronger, more durable alloy barrel.
Kara
I play in an adult mens league (MSBL) and have been swinging a 33/30 Voodoo. This year the league went to BBCOR and I was wondering at 5'4" and 168 should I stick with my 33/30 or drop down to 32/29 as your "bat coach" has suggested? It seems I am right on the edge. I am not worried so much about the weight, as I am the length and having less plate coverage with the 32. Thanks Dean
Even though there are recommended sizes, determining the right size of bat for someone really comes down to whatever you feel comfortable with. If you are comfortable swinging a 33/30 and that is what you have currently been swinging, I don't see any harm in staying with that size.
Jennifer
What is the difference in performance of this bat compared to the previous CF5? Is this one worth the extra $150? B-Rad
The biggest difference is the switch from TR3 STRUT Composite to TR3 F.L.O. Composite that allows the CF5 have a lighter swing weight and be stronger than ever before. As far whether it's worth the extra money... that's your call... I think it is.
Tyler
do you reccomend this bat or the xl3 for a power hitter steve
Both the DeMarini CF5 and the Easton XL3 would be good fits for a power hitter. The main difference between these two bats is that the DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece fully composite bat, whereas the Easton XL3 is a one-piece fully aluminum bat. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
i am a power hitter and i was just wondering, would a bat like this (2-piece composite) or say a bat such as the Rawlings 5150 (1-piece aluminum) help me generate more power? hitta
It would come down to personally preference. The two-piece design of the CF5 would add for extra whip with the barrel. The one-piece 5150 has a solid feel with less flex which can add for more barrel control.
Ryan
I'm a 6'0 125 pound contact hitter, would this bat fit me? Mykel
Yes, the CF5 DXCFC is a very good option for your size. It has a tremendous amount of pop.
Sean

Ryan
Hey, I've been swingging the Louisville Slugger H2 Hybrid and I was wondering which bag would be the closest similar to that bat. I know it has to be BBCOR, but what bat is the closest? Bat obsesser
The closest comparison to the H2 Hybrid will be the Louisville Slugger Vertex: BB12V. The Vertex was actually made to replace the H2 and features a similar construction, and materials.
Tyler

Since the CF5 is a composite bat, it will require a break-in. Also, since it has a composite barrel it will have a little more pop than the Voodoo.
Jennifer

The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR is more end loaded than the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR. The Vexxum would be best suited for a player who has some power and quick bat speed.
Kara

Yes. Composite bats must be BBCOR certified and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 meets that standard.
Damon
Is this same as the model: WTDXCFC-13? josh
The DXCFC is the model number for the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR. The CF5 in a baseball model does not come in a -13.
Nick K.

Tom
I'm deciding on getting this CF5 or the Easton S1. Which bat do you think would be better for a contact hitter? Which has more pop? Neonswagg
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 and the Easton S1 would both work for a contact hitter because they are both two-piece bats. Both the CF5 and the S1 are high performing bats with a lot of pop.
Nick K.
My son is small for his age (13) 5' 90 lbs. He's playing up in travel ball and has to use a BBCOR. Obviously not a power hitter we're looking at the 5150 and 2013 CF5. Which one would you recommend? Benniethejet
Two-piece bats like the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR are best suited for a contact hitter. The Rawlings 5150 is best for a power hitter. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 is balanced and would be great for a player making the transition to a BBCOR bat.
Kara
I am 13 years old 5' 7" and very strong, but I prefer a balanced bat. I have hit the 2012 Voodoo and The 2012 CF5 and was wondering what Voodoo is better because I like it and tell me which CF5 is better because they seem the same. Aaron
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will have a slight load, whereas the 2013 DeMarini CF5 will be more balanced than the 2012 CF5 model. If you prefer a balanced bat I would go with the CF5.
Damon
Is there any real difference between the 2012 CF5 and the new 2013 version? Don
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR uses new TR3 F.L.O. Composite for a more balanced swing weight than the 2012 CF5.
Kara
I'm a 5'6 130lb high school sophomore and I hit for a mix of contact and power and I used the 2012 CF5 and I loved it, would the transition to this bat be easy? Jake

Kara
I'm 5'11", 140 pound high school freshman and I am a line drive hitter. What bat would be better for me the 2013 CF5 of the 2013 Voodoo? Evan
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 would be the best choice for a line drive hitter. It is evenly balanced and has a light swing weight.
Nick
I am 5'5" and 105 pounds. I am a contact hitter who's going into their second year of BBCOR bats. Is the 2013 CF5 or the 2013 Voodoo a better choice for a skinny player to hit singles and doubles with? demarini26
I would suggest the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR. The CF5 is going to be more balanced and lighter swinging compared to the DeMarini Voodoo.
Nick
Is this bat better for contact or power? 123
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 is a great bat for both contact and power.
Nick
I am 13 year old looking to get a big barrel and I am a line drive who has hit a lot of line drives for home runs and I like two piece composite and have used a CF4 and Omen. Would this bat be good for me? Allstar2012
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR will perform similar to the CF4 and Easton Omen. The main difference is the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR is more balanced than the CF4 and Easton Omen.
Kara

Damon

Two-piece, full composite bats like the DeMarini DXCFC are typically pretty expensive. I would recommend the 2012 DXCFC as it is on closeout pricing, or the DeMarini Voodoo or Vexxum.

Tyler
Between this and the Easton S1, which bat would feel less top heavy for a 31 inch? Mike
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 and the Easton S1 are both going to be very balanced bats with a lot of pop. The CF5 will swing a little bit lighter because of the type of composite DeMarini uses.
Nick
When will the next line of DeMarini bats come out? Jmo
DeMarini will release its new line of bats in early spring of 2013.
Tom
Hi, I'm 13 and I'm 5 foot 4 and 105lbs. I'd like to know if this bat is a BBCOR .5 bat. I'm doing Babe Ruth fall baseball, and I really would like to have this bat because of the satisfactory results I had with the 2012 version. I just need to know if it is Babe Ruth approved. Ethan
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC is BBCOR certified and will be legal. Anytime your see "BBCOR" in the product name, that indicates it's a BBCOR certified bat.
Tyler
I am 13 years old and I'm trying to decide between 2013 CF5 (-3) or the Exogrid 2 (-3). Which is better? Robbie Jr.
Both are excellent bats. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR is best suited for a contact hitter. The EXOGRID2 is best suited for a power hitter. The CF5 will require a break-in period and the EXOGRID2 will be game ready. However, we are currently out of stock of the EXOGRID2.

Both the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC and the Easton S1 are balanced two-piece composite bats. They are top of the line for each manufacture. If you have had success with the CF5, we recommend to stay with the same bat.

Both the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat and the COMBAT 52 Caliber AB BBCOR: 52CALAB1 Adult bat will have good pop. It depends on what type of hitter you are. The COMBAT 52 Caliber will be a One-Piece all Composite design that Power Hitter will love. The DeMarini CF5 will be a Two-Piece all Composite design that Line-drive and Gap Hitters will tend to like. The 52 Caliber will feel more stiff in the handle and when swinging through the zone. While the CF5 and its Two-Piece Design will actually improve hitters swing speeds and feel very balanced. Both bats will come with Full 12 Month Warranties through their manufacturers. They will both improve your hitting performance depending on what type of hitting category you fall into.

Im 6'0 and weigh 160. what size should i get. Im 18 and have never swung anything but a 32" and am weary of moving up. PQ
A 33" model is average based on your size. However, if you don't feel comfortable swinging a 33" BBCOR bat, then you shouldn't. You should always use the size you are most comfortable swinging.
Tyler
I am looking for a bat that I can use for power, because I am a power hitter. What should i get? dez
End loaded bats are going to be the best options for a power hitter. Try the Easton XL3, Easton XL1, or the DeMarini Voodoo. All three of these bats will have an end loaded feel, which is perfect for any power hitter.
Noah
What bat do you prefer for a contact hitter, the 2013 CF5 or 2013 XL1? Parker
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat is a better option for a contact hitter because it has a very balanced swing weight. The 2013 Easton XL1: BB13X1 has an extended barrel with more of an end load and is generally preferred by a power hitter.
Aubrey
Which bat is better, the 2013 CF5 or the 2013 Voodoo? Johnson
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat will be a two-piece all composite design. It will be very balanced and easy to swing. It will require a period of break-in. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will also be a two-piece bat but will feature a composite handle and alloy barrel. This bat will require no break-in period. It will come hot right out of the wrapper. The Voodoo will not be as balanced as the CF5. It will have a barrel heavy end loaded feel to the swing weight. Typically, power hitters gravitate to the Voodoo. They seem to like the end loaded swing weight. Both bats are great selections for the 2013 season. It just depends if you want a balanced bat or an end loaded bat.
Brandon
I just purchased the 2013 DeMarini CF5 for my high school freshman son. He followed the break-in instructions by hitting 150+ balls off a batting tee while rotating the barrel between swings. He is now ready to hit some live baseballs with his 2013 CF5. Once he takes batting practice how will he know if the bat has (or has not) been properly broken in? 8 Ball
If you followed the steps that you outlined, it will be properly broken-in. If it is not properly broken-in, you will see decreased performance and the bat may be more susceptible to cracking after facing live pitching.
Tyler
What is the difference between the TR3 F.L.O. composite technology and the TR3 Strut composite technology? snow29
The new TR3 F.L.O. composite technology is material that is wound tighter that allows for a more balanced feel in the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult compared to the 2012 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR that uses TR3 Strut technology.
Kara
I am looking to buy a new bat, preferably the 2013 CF5, and I want to know how soon the 2014 CF5 will come out, as I don't want to buy the 2013 model and then the 2014 model come out soon after my purchase? Even if there is not an exact date, is there a time frame I could expect it to come out? Cdoallstars
DeMarini generally releases their new line of bats in the fall of each year.
Marcus
Which one is better for a power hitter the CF5 or the Voodoo? Wouldn't I be able to swing the CF5 faster, thus hitting the ball further? Mike
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR is amazingly balanced. It has great pop to it. It will generate alot of power. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo has a slight endload to also add power but with that extra weight can be a little different if you aren't used to it.
Chad M.

There are no defects in the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat, we are prepping for the release of the 2014 line and are passing the savings on to you. I would strongly recommend not applying pine tar to the bat. It would ruin the synthetic grip, additionally, most leagues ban the use of pine tar.
Kevin
I'm 5'8" 145 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? Collin
With the height and weight given, we suggest that you get the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR in the 32" 29 oz. model.

The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat would be a great choice. At your size a 32"-33" bat length is recommended. With the balance and bat speed this bat will give you you could most likely swing the 33" with great success.

Based on the height and weight, we recommend a 33" model. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
I amm not a power hitter, so would the RIP-IT Prototype AIR or CF5 be a better bat for me? taz
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat is a very balanced, two-piece composite bat. The RIP-IT Prototype AIR is also very balanced, but it has a one-piece alloy design with a stiffer flex. Both bats would be great options for a contact hitter.
Mac
When are you guys going to get the white CF5 BBCOR in 31"? joeyjoe
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat is a closeout model. We will not be getting any 31" back in stock.
Brandon
How many more 32" models do you have left in this bat? Garrettlayne
We have plenty of the 32" 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bats left in stock.
Marcus
How do you break in this bat ? Jack
You will need to take approximately 200 hits off this bat, rotating the bat a quarter of a turn every few swings. This will assure that all sides of the bat will take enough hits to break up the material to help the bat reach max pop.
Derek
I'm 5'4" 125 lbs with above average bat speed. I'm a contact hitter. What size CF5 should I get? Also, do you still have 32 inch in stock? demarinibaseball
Based on your size, you on the border between a 31" and 32" model. If you are still growing and want something to grow in to, a 32" model of the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC would be recommended. All sizes you see on the website are in stock and ready to ship.
Tyler
I recently saw a CF5 that is black and neon green in a local shop. Is it the 2014 model? When will you have it available? Sooner1
You saw the limited edition 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE BBCOR: DXCFC-LE Adult bat, it is located here - http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-demarini-cf5-le-bbcor--dxcfc-le-adult/17530/?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=newrelease&pa_medium=badges&pa_content=2013-demarini-cf5-le-bbcor--dxcfc-le-adult
Kevin
How does this bat compare to the 2013 Easton S1? comp
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is a two-piece, fully composite bat; like the Easton S1. Both bats have balanced swing weights and their performance is capped by the BBCOR certification. They are very comparable models in design.
Mac
Are you going to make a 2014 model CF5? Dudderkid
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR will be released in the fall of 2013.
Noah
I need to move into a BBCOR this fall and was wondering how this bat compared to the new NVS? Any idea what the difference is between the MOI's? Tom
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS are going to be very similar in balance. The DeMarini CF5 in the long run will out perform the NVS though.
Noah
What is the difference between the 2013 and the 2014 BBCOR CF5 bat? Dan
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult uses a TR3 F.L.O. Composite and the 2014 uses a new Paradox Composite for a bigger, more responsive sweet spot.
Noah
Is the CF5 more balanced than Easton S1? peter parter
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult and the Easton S1 will both be equally balanced.
Noah
How hard do you swing when you break it in? cf5guy
When breaking in the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult you should hit at about 40% power for the first 50 swings and gradually go up from there.
Noah
What do the numbers on the end of the barrel mean? Also, what are some tips on how to properly break in this bat? Joe
The numbers on the end of the barrel will be the rotation index for breaking in the bat. You can find a video on how to break in the bat here: http://www.justbats.com/videos/video/baseball-training--how-to-break-in-a-composite-bat/83/.
Noah
Which has more pop, the S1 or the DeMarini CF5? Lando
The Easton S1 and 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult will perform the exact same.
Noah
Does this version of the Cf5 have more weight towards the handle than the old bronze and black Cf5, or is this Cf5 like the same as swinging the old one? kevinguy
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR will be more balanced then previous models.
Damon
Does this bat require a break-in? (I found a video that said it didn't and I also found sites where it says it does.) kevinguy
Yes, the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR DXCFC will need to be broken in. After about 150-200 hits the CF5 should be broken in.
Sean
I'm 5'8" and I weigh 155 lbs. I want to know what size is good for me? jj1212
A 32" is recommended at your size for the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat.
Brandon
I'm considering the 2013 CF5 and the EXOgrid 3, which is a better bat? 719red
The DeMarini CF5 and the Louisville Slugger EXOgrid 3 will both be very high performing bats. You will not see a difference in performance from either bat.
Noah
What does bat flex help with? Will it take the pop away or will it add pop? eee
When the bat flexes it can help a player increase bat speed. This will not effect the performance of the bat.
Noah
I'm 5'11" and weigh 165 lbs. What size bat i should get? jeffro baseball
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Which bat will be more balanced, this DeMarini CF5 or the new 2013 Rawlings Velo BBCOR? Wildcat02
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult and the Rawlings Velo will both be very balanced bats, so you can't really compare the two.
Noah
I'm 5'9" and weigh 167 lbs., what size should i get? asdfasdf
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach tool at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Last year I used the 2012 CF5 -3 and this year I can't decide between the 2013 model and the 2012 model. I have never used the 2013 model. playmaker
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is going to be a lot more balanced than the 2012 CF5.
Noah
My son is 13 and will be using a BBCOR bat starting in August. He is currently using a Senior League, one-piece composite Big Barrel bat. He is not a power hitter. I am looking at this bat and the RIP-IT Prototype AIR BBCOR. Which bat would you recommend? Kevin
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat has a very balanced swing weight, as does the RIP-IT Prototype AIR. The differences between bats will be the barrel material and flex. The CF5 provides more flex and trampoline effect, but the one-piece design of the RIP-IT transfers energy more-efficiently to the ball. To help with the decision, I would consider models the player has used successfully in the past. Both models are very balanced and would make great options for a player's first BBCOR bat.
Mac
I just turned 13 and now have to swing BBCOR and I can't decide between 2013 CF5 or the 2013 EXOGRID 3. Any suggestions on which is better bat? baseball star
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult and the 2013 EXOGRID 3 are both excellent bats with great pop. If you are a contact hitter, the 2013 DeMarini would be a better option for you.
Kara
Is this bat more balanced than the 2013 Louisville Slugger Omaha? zaynebaseball15
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat is a two-piece fully composite design where the Louisville Slugger Omaha is a one-piece alloy model. Both will feature very balanced swing weights.
Aubrey
Is this bat or the new 2014 Vexxum more balanced? sharkb8
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS is more balanced than the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult.
Kara
Is the big barrel DeMarini CF5 or the Easton XL1 better? gonzo
Both are great bats. The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR is a balanced two-piece composite bat designed more for a contact hitter, whereas the Easton XL1 BBCOR is an end loaded two-piece composite bat that is designed for for a power hitter.
Damon
When is the sale on the cf5 34 inch going to end? mattyv11
Most likely the 2013 CF5 BBCOR sale will end when we run out of stock.
Damon
My son is currently 11 and about 100 pounds. He will be required to swing a -3 BBCOR bat next year and he currently uses a -12. I am trying to get him used to the heavier bat and am looking at the Voodoo or the CF5. I need some recommendations. Moore
I would recommend the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat for a player that has to transition into a BBCOR model as it features a very light and balanced swing weight. The DeMarini Voodoo has a more end loaded swing weight.
Aubrey
I am about 5' 4", 140 pounds, and I am power hitter. I am not sure if I should go with the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR, or the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo, which one should I choose? cardinal
If you are more of a power hitter you should be using the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo, because of the end loaded swing weight.
Noah
March of 2014 I'll be 13 in middle school and I am a power hitter but also a base hitter. So which would I need 2013 CF5 or 2014 Voodoo? I have the CF5 youth bat 32 in 21 oz. and I hit a lot of home runs. jman
If you are moving to a -11 to a -3 bat we recommend a balanced bat like the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult. The 2014 Voodoo is end loaded and better for a hitter with some power.
Kara
I'm looking for the right bat for middle school ball. I'm going into 7th grade. I was on the team last year but I don't know what bat to get? I'm stuck between the 2013 S1 and the CF5. I'm 13 5'4 120 lbs. Could you help me? allstar2013
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is a very balanced bat. It is designed for a contact hitter and has great pop. It would be an excellent choice for you.
Kara
When is the CF6 coming out? G man 24
The DeMarini CF6 will be coming out this November.
Damon
Can I use this bat even if I am a power hitter? What is the lowest temperature I can use this in? Why do power hitters prefer end-loaded? beast
Yes, you can use the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR for power. We don't recommend using composite bats below 55 degrees. Power hitters prefer end loaded bats because if you have the strength to get the bat through the zone and more weight is at the end of the bat the ball will go farther.
Damon
I'm 5'5" 98 lbs. I'm on the high school team and a contact hitter. Which is better the the 2013 CF5 or 2013 Marucci Black 2? cody
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat. As a balanced model, the DeMarini CF5 is a great choice for a contact hitter.
Aubrey
I'm 5'10'' 155 pounds. I'm on the High School Varsity baseball team and I'm a contact hitter with some power. I wanted to know which bat would be the best for me. The Demarini CF5, Easton XL1, or Easton S1? Also, would 32'' be the right length? Thanks! DJ3K
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult and 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult would both be great options, as they are well balanced two-piece composites. With you being a contact hitter, we'd recommend a balanced model, rather than the end loaded Easton XL1.
Katie
I am thinking of either a BBCOR XL1 or this bat. Any differences? YESS
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult and Easton XL1 BBCOR are both two-piece composite bats, but they feature different swing weights that would fit different players. The CF5 is very balanced and designed to increase bat speed and control for contact hitters. The XL1 has a slightly end loaded swing weight which is best used by power hitters with high swing speeds.
Mac
I am 6' 1/2 inches and weigh 175 lbs. What bat length would suit me best? Jc33
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 34" 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult.
Kara
When is the new DeMarini bat line being realeased? Matt H.
DeMarini released most of their 2014 models in March 2013. The 2015 models will not be released until next spring.
Justin R.
I'm a senior 5'9" 150 lbs. What size do you recommend? ryry
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 32" 29 oz. 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult.
Kara
I'm 6'1" 175 lbs and have really fast hands. I have good power, so would this bat be right for me? braydentc3
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is designed for a contact hitter that needs to increase their bat speed. We recommend and end loaded bat such as the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult for a power hitter.
Kara
I am a power hitter. I have really fast hands. Would this or the Easton S1 be a better bat. Should i go with an XL series? beast
Typically, power hitters will use end loaded bats more efficiently. However, if you prefer a more balanced bat, for increased bat speed, The Easton S1 and DeMarini CF5 are two of the best options you can get. To help choose between the two designs, I would reflect on the design of bats you have used successfully in the past. Most players are better suited swinging balanced models.
Mac
I am 5' 6" and 138 lbs. I am a freshman contact hitter. I currently swing Easton Redline 2011 BBCOR BX75. I think i could swing the 33" 30 oz. of the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR. Do you think this would be good for me? big o
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR is a well balanced bat for a contact hitter and a 33" size would be a good size for your height and weight.
Damon
Which bat has a lighter swing weight the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat or the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR Baseball Bat: B1303A Adult bat? I am 5', what size would you suggest? daniel
Both the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat and the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR Baseball Bat: B1303A Adult bat feature very balanced swing weights. I recommend using our Bat Coach tool for sizing information http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
What bat has a lighter swing the 2013 COMbat Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 Adult or the 2013 DeMarini CF5? daniel
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult and the 2013 COMBAT Pure BBCOR: PUREAB1 will have a similar swing weight.
Kara
When breaking this bat in how often and how much(as far as numbers) should you rotate the bat? Tommy
For a bat like the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR we generally recommend 150-200 swings off of a tee or playing soft toss, while rotating the bat 1/4 turn each swing.
Damon
How can you tell when this is broken in? beast
With the high quality composite in the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR, you do not need many hits to get this bat game ready. We recommend a break in period of 150-200 hits. You will see a slight increase in pop, but this period is just to make sure the composite material is ready to handle higher velocity pitches.
Justin R.
Which bat is more durable and will last longer, the CF5 or the RIP-IT Prototype AIR BBCOR? person
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat would probably hold its performance longer due to the full composite bat design. The RIP-IT Prototype AIR BBCOR is a one-piece fully alloy bat.
Brandon
Which bat has a longer barrel? The 2013 CF5, COMbat Pure, or Easton Mako. Please list the from most to least. daniel
The barrel length on the 3 bats including the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult would list in this order: 2014 Easton Mako BBCOR, 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult, COMBAT Pure.
Brandon
What bat will have more pop? A full composite BBCOR bat or a hybrid non-BBCOR bat? daniel
The pop will be very similar between both types of materials. A full composite bat, like the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat, should hold its performance a while longer than an all alloy design.
Brandon
Does this bat have as much pop as the Mako. Thanks. ethan
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat will have similar performance to the 2014 Easton Mako BBCOR. Though the new 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR would more closely compare to the new Mako.
Brandon
I am 5' 1" and 100 lbs. What size would you recommend? yankees
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 30" 27 oz. for the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
Will the CF6 have the same feel as the CF5? Also have been using 32" bat. Should I move up to 33". I am a freshman in high school. I am 5'8" 173 lbs. mike
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR will feature DeMarini's brand new Paradox composite, which is different from the materials found on the CF5. The CF6 will also come with DeMarinis new D-Fusion handle technology. This new handle almost completely eliminates any vibration during the swing. You are right on the edge of needing to go up to a 33", I would probably recommend sticking with the 32" for one more year.
Justin R.
My son is 5' 8" and 130 lbs. High school restrictions require a max of -3 drop. I am anticipating he will go through a growth spurt soon and end up about 6'1''. What size he should swing? Dave
Based on your son's current height and weight, we would recommend using a 31 inch or going up to a 32 inch. If he continues to grow to 6'1'', we would recommend a 33 inch. For more information on sizing please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tori
I am currently using a 32" 2011 Vexxum. I am a contact hitter with some power, and I am trying to decide between the 2014 Vexxum, 2014 Voodoo, or the 2013 Cf5. I am 5'11 and 170 pounds. Any suggestions on which bat would be best and how long I should get it? Danny
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is going to be extremely balanced, which is best suited for a contact hitter. Based on your height and weight you should use a 33" CF5.
Jason
My son is 5'6", 130 pounds with long arms. He is entering Babe Ruth this spring, still developing his swing and wants a BBCOR bat. What bat would you suggest? Jacob
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is a nicely balanced, two-piece bat. It would be a great choice for a player making the transition to a BBCOR bat.
Kara
How does this bat compare to the Demarini CF4 Adult? My son is 5' 10" and 160 lbs and really liked the CF4. H
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult will have a lighter swing weight than the CF4 Adult models, as the TR3 F.L.O. Composite in the CF5 is made of naturally arranged fibers that cut excess material out of the barrel. Lighter weight means faster bat speed for your player.
Mac
Does it come broken in? miller
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult does require a break-in period just like any other composite bat. For information on how to break-in a composite bat check out http://www.justbats.com/blog/index.php/3789/breaking-in-your-composite-baseball-bat/
Jason
How do you know when this bat is dead? adam
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult will be "dead" when there is a significant drop in performance.
Justin R.
With BBCOR regulations, will the CF6 perform better than the CF5? I've also heard the CF6 is less balanced due to the D-Fusion Handle, is that true? johnny
BBCOR regulations limits the performance a bat can have. The 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR pushes the limit of the regulations. The CF6 features DeMarini's newest composite which is higher performing and more durable than the composite on the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult. The D-Fusion handle does not take away from the balance of the bat, but it does help eliminate almost all vibration from the bat.
Justin R.
Looking for a CF5 -5. His batting coach suggested he use it. Is it available? geno
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is only available in a -3. All BBCOR bats are -3. DeMarini only makes the CF5 Senior League in a -8 and -10. In a -5, DeMarini offers the Voodoo and the Vexxum.
Justin R.
How does this bat compare in performance to the Louisville Slugger Exogrid 3? Lb
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) Adult and the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID 3 BBCOR (BB13EX) Adult are both two-piece balanced bats. The EXOGRID is a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The CF5 is a two-piece fully composite design. They are very comparable in performance.
Jason
My son is 5'11 and 160lbs and I want a bat for him to grow into. Do I want a 33 or 34 inch bat? Also could he still use a 32" bat if he were to grow over 6 foot? theo
According to his height and weight, we recommend a 32" DeMarini CF5 BBCOR:DXCFC Adult. If you think he can handle the extra inch and ounce in size and weight, he could very well go up to a 33" size. If he were to grow over 6 foot, he could probably still use a 32", but ultimately, it would come down to his preference and how well he can handle the bat. You should definitely check out our Bat Coach feature on our site, it is an awesome tool to use to figure out bat sizing. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa
What is lighter the CF5 or the MAKO? hagge
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) Adult and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult have very similar swing weights.
Jason
I am a contact hitter but I have some power. I bat second and tried swing the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult and it didn't feel heavy. Would you recommend the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult or the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult? Bmore
Both are great bats. Because the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC) Adult is more balanced it will allow for more bat control, whereas the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult will feel more end loaded in comparison to the CF6 resulting in more power.
Damon
I'm 5'7" and 105 lbs. Trying to decide between this bat and the 2013 RIP-IT AIR. I have been using a 31" 26 oz. Marucci. Which bat would be better for me? mac
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat and the 2013 RIP-IT AIR would both be great choices for a hitter new to BBCOR. Both will have very balanced swing feels and be light through the zone.
Brandon
What temperature should the bat be used in? tyreke
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) Adult is not recommended for use in weather colder than 55 degrees.
Aaron
Would this be a good bat for Babe Ruth league age 13-15? I have the DeMarini CF5, BPF 1.15, 32 inch, -11, that I can't use for this league. I want to get a similar bat. Tman
This DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) Adult bat would be a great option that would be approved for the 13-15 year old division of Babe Ruth baseball. It does have a composite barrel that is 2 5/8" in diameter, but it also features the BBCOR performance certification mark.
Mac
Is this bat ASA legal? Is this bat good for a Dudley sb-12L cork center? cutty
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) Adult is actually going to be a baseball bat. It will not be ASA approved and is not meant to hit Dudley SB-12L.
Kelby
Is the 2013 model better than the 2012? Baseballboy267
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC Adult) will swing very similar to the previous model year. The 2013 CF5 and Limited Edition CF5 will feature an updated composite material compared to the 2012 model. It should also feel slightly more balanced.
Brandon
I am looking at the DeMarini CF5, or the 2014 Easton XL1, which one can add more power and bat speed to my swing? baseballboy2
Out of these two bats the Easton XL1 (BB14X1) will give you the ability to generate more power with its end-loaded feel. If your looking for a quicker speed the DeMarini CF5 (DXCFC) will give you lower M.O.I. which would give the batter an increase in bat speed.
Zach
Do you guys carry the old gold CF5 in a -3? If not, where can I get one? Noah
Unfortunately, that gold CF5 is a 2012 model. We no longer have that available. Since that model is no longer in production, you would have to go to a website like www.ebay.com to try to find a used one.
Justin R.
I am 5'4.5" and 125 pounds I was wondering if this bat is blanced, and would be a bat recommended for me? Matt
I would recommend a 30" length in the DeMarini CF5 (DXCFC) based on your height and weight. DeMarini CF5 (DXCFC) will feature a balanced swing weight and its a good bat for a contact hitter who is looking to get on base.
Zach
What happens if I take the grip off the bat? Will there still be a thick handle or is it a removable pad? starlincastro13
The handle of the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) will be very thin without the grip. The grip provides most of the thickness and cushioning that you feel on the bat.
Bobby
I am 15 years old, 5'10", and 140 lbs. I normally swing a 33/30. Is this the correct size for me? Voodoo or CF5
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest a 32 inch in the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: (DXCFC). However, a 33 inch would also work as well.
Merritt
I have average power and want to get more power. Would an end loaded bat or balanced bat be better? b
If you want to generate more power I would recommend going with a balanced bat like the DeMarini CF5 (DXCFC). If you go with a balanced bat it will help you generate more bat speed. With having more bat speed it will help with generating more power. The DeMarini CF5 is also a two-piece bat and a two-piece bat will have more flex than a one-piece bat. The benefit of having flex with a two-piece will help with getting more "whip" action on the ball and generate a little more drive.
Zach
Which bat has a bigger sweet spot: the Easton MAKO or DeMarini CF5? asdasd
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) and the Easton MAKO both have big sweet spots. However, the extended barrel on the MAKO creates a slightly bigger sweet spot than the CF5.
Jason
Does this bat have an approved USSSA sticker/label on it? tony
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) features the BBCOR .50 certification stamp. It does not have the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it because it is BBCOR certified.
Jason
Is this bat allowed in USSSA baseball 14U and under? Jack
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) would be certified for high school and college. It would not perform quite as well as a USSSA 1.15 certified bat. It would be allowed for use though.
Brandon
I am 14 years old, 5'11" and 170 lbs. I'm a power/contact hitter. Would the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) be good for me? Lane
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) would be a good bat for a contact hitter because it is balanced. You would also be able to hit for power with it.
Damon
What bat has a bigger barrel the Easton S1 or the CF5? black dog
Both the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) and the 2014 Easton S1 (BB14S1) will have the same barrel diameter and will be very similar in terms of barrel length. This will give them a similar sweet spot size.
Patrick
What is the difference between 1.15 and 1.50? datdudebp
BBCOR bats like the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) will actually have a rating of .5 rather than 1.5. This is just a number indicating the trampoline effect and batted ball speeds the bat is capable of. The 1.15 BPF indicates that it is able to have greater trampoline effect than the BBCOR .5 model.
Patrick
is the white cf5 composite shoey

I am 14 years old, 5'4", and weigh 150 pounds. I am a power hitter. Is this bat right for me? Newk
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) features a balanced swing weight, which is generally preferred by contact hitters. If you are more of a power hitter, going with a bat that has an end loaded feel may be the better option for you. I suggest checking out the DeMarini Voodoo. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" size.

I am a 6', 215 lb contact/power hitter. Is this bat right for me? If so, what size? Bruh
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (DXCFC) would be an excellent model for a contact hitter. The two-piece composite, balanced design, will make it very easy to generate a fast bat swing. Therefore, this model will also be great for power hitters. Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest 33".

My son is a power hitter, about 5'4" 150 lbs. Is this bat right for him? Should I get him the 32"? Big M
Based on his approximate height and weight, I would suggest 31". However, he might be able to use the bat a little bit longer by moving up to a 32". As a power hitter, the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (DXCFC) has a structure and weight distribution that is generally preferred by contact hitters. However, the TR3 FLO Composite material, once broken-in, will be able to provide players with substantial pop.

I am 14 years old, 5'8 150 lbs. I am a contact/power hitter. Would this be a good bat for me? Is composite better than alloy bats? Big A
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is an excellent bat for your style of hitting. The two-piece design and balanced wing weight are great for a contact hitter. A composite bat is not necessarily better than and alloy bat. Both materials will perform very similarly when they are in their peak performances.

I am 5'8" 150 lbs. What size would you guys recommend for me? How long would it take to break in the bat? Whats the difference between the CF5 and the CF6 besides the handle? Which one has more pop? Big A
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC). The CF5, like any composite bats, will take about 150-200 swings off a tee to break-in. The CF5 and the CF6 are very similar in design and performance, but the CF6 is an upgrade in materials. The CF6 features the D-Fusion handle, which eliminates vibration, and it also has new Paradox composite. The Paradox composite provides for a bigger sweet spot and higher durability.

I am trying to decide between this bat and the Voodoo Overlord. I am 5'10 and weigh about 160, and I am mainly a contact hitter. I am wondering what the difference is between these two bats. What would be a better fit for someone my size? Baseball player
The DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is a two-piece fully composite design whereas the Voodoo Overlord is a two-piece hybrid with a X10 alloy barrel and a Paradox composite handle. The CF5 will also be more balanced while the Voodoo Overlord will be slightly end-loaded. As far as what size you should get, I would recommend a 32" or 33" bat for your size.
Jake

What do the numbers on top of and around the barrel of the bat mean? guero
The numbers on the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) serve as a rotational index for ensuring an even break in and usage of the bat.
Joe
Can this bat be used in cold weather? huddy
We do not recommend using any bat at temperatures below 55 degrees. When the temperature sinks below 55 degrees, the ball becomes denser and has the ability to damage the barrel walls of the bat. If a player is participating in a practice that is being held in conditions with a temperature below 55 degrees, we would recommend using an older model bat that will no longer be used for games or even a wooden bat. If a game is being held in conditions below 55 degrees we would recommend warming up with a non-game model bat (or wooden model) and then only using the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in the actual game.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
