Description

New for The DeMarini M2M is True American Muscle. Made in the USA, the M2M is all-alloy with no forgiveness. It's built for power, durability, and players that love to feel the ball all the way through the bat. This two-piece full-metal design is as stiff of a bat as they come; producing as much power as a metal bat possibly can. We're not talking about just any metal though. We're talking about DeMarini's new X10 Alloy. X10 features a proprietary blend of alloy agents and is finely tuned to give the M2M the thinnest, lightest, and strongest barrel walls possible. With a big, aggressive Longbarrel, the M2M is graced with one of the largest hitting surfaces (and sweetspots!) in the game today! The sweetspot is even further enhanced with Half and Half Technology that allows the barrel to produce a burst of ball-launching energy every time contact is made. Capped with an N2M End Cap that is scientifically tuned to absorb vibration, the M2M is one bat that will not disappoint. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The M2M is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Have only used three bats Omaha LE and Exogrid 2. The M2M has a larger sweetspot than both. You can feel the weight at the end of the bat but not an extreme end load. Good results after 3 rounds of BP and one game. Great for contact hitters with moderate power.

Cons: None at the moment.

great bat

Pros: light weight. batter with not much power can benifit from this bat. extremely balanced. i bought it for my 7 year old but my 12 year old tried it out in one game and first up to bat got a triple off a hard hit ball.

Cons: my 9 year old is a huge kid and a power hitter. he seems to struggle with the bat. almost like he is swingging nothing. its just really light for him

Pros: Great pop right out of the wrapper. Decent size sweetspot. Good sound also. My son 10 yrs old hits the ball to the fence regularly.

Cons: My son complains about the shock to the hands feeling if you hit the ball off closer to the end of the bat or not in the sweetspot of the bat. Batting gloves are a must with this bat. My son put a pair on and basically elimated the vibration. All in all great bat!

underated smiley other

Pros: This might be the best alloy bat I have ever swung. This thing can turn a 5'2 90 pound kid into a monster power hitter who can hit a homer or two in each game. My son hit a ball 250 ft with this.

Cons: feels a tad heavy for -12 but it's also got amazing pop

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini M2M Youth Baseball Bat: DXM2L? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How is the swing weight on this model? How will it compare to the 2013 Voodoo? Coach
The 2013 DeMarini M2M has a pretty balanced swing weight. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will have a slight end loaded feel to it. In terms of performance, these two bats will perform just about the same.
Jennifer
In colder weather (ie 50 degrees) would a one piece alloy be better than this two piece? Capone
A one piece or a two piece will be fine for 50 degrees.
Kara
What weight to length would you recommend for a 8 yr old, average height and weight? philp
Depending on his strength and bat speed, most 8 year old players use a 28" 16oz or a 29" 17oz. For exact measurements, check our our bat coach;;http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Kara
Do you think this is one of the best bats? If not please tell me which one is. lj
The 2013 DeMarini M2M is a high quality bat with a lot of pop. I would also recommend the DeMarini Voodoo and DeMarini Vexxum.
Nick K.
Will this bat make me a power hitter and maybe even hit homeruns? lj
The 2013 DeMarini M2M is a good choice for power hitters since it has a stiff flex and excellent pop. Hitting home runs has to do with a combination of swing speed and mechanics.
Nick
I am more of a contact hitter, but I bomb one every now and then. Last year I hit an inside the park grand slam with my 2011 Vexxum. I'm looking for a nice bat to add to my bat collection. Is this a good bat? devin
Yes. This is a two piece bat with a longer barrel to increase the sweet spot. It will have some flex and be great for line drives and bombs.
Damon
Is this bat ASA approved? I checked their website and it only lists bats up to 2011 models. You don't mention the ASA in your approval list just the USSSA. What is the difference in the two organizations? Sid
ASA and USSSA are two governing bodies for softball. USSSA governs both baseball and softball. The 2013 DeMarini M2M is a baseball bat so it will not be ASA certified. Only softball bats will have the ASA certifications.
Nick K.
What bat would be better for a 10 year old who weighs 75 lbs? We a trying to decide between the M2M or the Easton S3? bk
The Easton S3 and the DeMarini M2M are both great bats. The M2M will flex because of the two-piece design making it perfect for a contact hitter, while the Easton S3 will be a stiff one-piece design usually preferred by a power hitter.
Noah
Is this bat an option for 10 year old softball girls? Chris
No. The 2013 DeMarini M2M: DXM2L is a baseball bat that is not certified for use in softball leagues or associations. You will want to look at "fastpitch softball" bats.
Tyler
I'm a power hitter, should I go with the CF5 or M2M? frankenstein
Both the DeMarini M2M and the DeMarini CF5 are great bats and will be good for both power and contact hitters.
John
What contact bat can I get for my 11 year old for baseball? marjon
The 2013 DeMarini M2M: DXM2L Youth bat would be a good selection. Also, DeMarini has another model called the 2014 Vexxum. It will provide a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Both will provide great bat speeds and help eliminate hand sting.
Brandon
Is this bat BBCOR certified? ISAAC
The DeMarini M2M (DXM2L) Youth model is not BBCOR certified. The model number for the BBCOR certified version of this bat would be: DeMarini M2M BBCOR (DXM2C) Adult.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
